It took me a while but I got used to it. Will- your description beyond 5k revs is EXACTLY how I feel- feel like your straining the car like a hire car not wanting to be ragged! The celica was like....5k....here wee go! And it went mental. Great fun. 370z I was thinking oh...poor car didn't like anything beyond 5k! I'm gonna have to get an uprev I think. Anyone done it on a stock car? Any graphs? I would actually be very interested to see a stock graph and maybe work out what's happening beyond 5k revs Oh and I have still kept my celica so I get the best if both!

elminate the bogging down at start or improve torque after 5k?

Octet i dont think its sold because of the cost. Im after an amuse kit and i will buy one but im not a fan of the creepy smile the black part on the front of the bumpermakes so i will get the whole front painted in one colour. therefore i wont make use of the CF parts unfortunately. geoff - is it realy carbon fibre or have the parts been skinned in cf? also is there any cf in the side skirts? like i said i am interested and come the end of May I will be buying an amuse kit (maybe not the front bumper though- may find an alternative) from RT Performance for £800 or around £500 i think for rear and side skirts.

Its not like the car is dead after 5k....just doesnt pull like it does low down. yes my celica was vvtli and i had a stage 2 cam upgrade. when lift kicked in it pulled like a train and the car loved being revved. dont get the wrong the low down power in the zed is awesome and more usable its just that i want it to pull like that all the way to the redline. also blipping the throttle isnt a blip....the flywheels so heavy it stays at the 'blipped' rev for at least a second. where as the celica was in comparison instant. this is something ive found on all 370z and is very evident onthe youtube videos when people are showing off their new exhausts. I think I would quite like a lighter flywheel. i can imagine it would make the car so much more fun. lighte flywheel, exhaust, sports cat and an uprev = smiles all around!

Hey Going from a celica GT to a 370z, i have found that the celica is so much more freely revving than the 370z. i know the 370z has a heavier flywheel but why? will changing it affect the Synchro mode? After 5k revs, it seems like the zed slows down on its pulling ability and therefore i never seem to redline it. in comparison, my celica loved being beyind 5200 rpm up until 7500rpm. I also noted that another member said that after getting an up rev the car behaved itself after 5000rpm. so does anyone else find this issue and what can be done to resolve it so that its pulling at its best when revved hard.....like a NA jap carshould be!

I can't open the ww2 video for sine reason That armytrix one sounds insane! Love it though. Think I need an exhaust with a variable valve. Beat if both worlds but they will cost a lot!!

thanks for the replies. Theaim to describing the tone was that when I have been to custom exhaust places, they have asked how much rasp or deepness i want and its pretty subjective. So thats why i wanted to see what the average description of this exhaust would be. ive also heard people describe exausts with an'open' tone....i think that means a ferrari how the tone suddenly changes when you get beyond 4k revs. it sounds like a completely different exhaust. Kind of like how this f type exhaust sounds. so is an exhaust note like this described as 'open'? Jay, your exahust onstart up was very loud but when it cammed down i didnt notice it as much. i would probably like something a little bit quieter when cruising on the motorway. i noticed a little bit of drone. Lastly the reason i put up this video was that car manufacturers manage to make exhausts which sound great and exotic but also dont have any drone at motorway speeds....why cant aftermarket exhausts achieve the same thing? The standard F Type is a good example. in the flesh the exhaust sounds excellent and no drone. i would love for the zed to sound like the stock F type (3.5l NA vs 3.7l NA...should be possible)

are these the same size that fit onto the 370z? im getting some for my car and managed to get a decent price. maybe i can arrange a GB but he is not a trader on here (yet). do traders need to pay to post on here? i can ask him about becoming a member?

Maybe a long shot but are there any exhausts out there that will make the zed have a similar tone albeit a bit quieter? Problem I'm finding is that exhaust tones are so subjective when people describe them in a forum. Also when people take videos the mic quality really makes a massive difference. I've heard a lot of the same exhausts recorded by different people and they sound different. So if I can't get this tone how would I describe it? Is it raspy? Just to warn you this is a 5l supercharged jag! A 3.7l NA will struggle but I also like the tone of the NA 3.5l f type. The exhaust tones at the beginning of the review. Please describe the tone to me and what exhausts are known to give this tone. Thanks

It must just be a hack since the navigation DVD drive is behind the drivers seat. Try put a DVD in and see what happens lol

oooh i was hoping for a lower price what is special about the Y section? is there anything in it that changes the tone or is it just stainless steel pipe? maybe i can just look at centre and rear section. also are these sports cat much better than berks since they are almost double in price. I'm after a raspier tone and I was thinking of removing mid silencer and changing to berks hfc but this is another alternative. thanks

omfg. i am interested. Im getting my mid silencer taken out in 2 weeks and i want to see how the car sounds. if it's not loud enough i will be getting these berk hfc

what size? the 265 size?

Just a bump to ask if I should also drop the fronts to 235/40/19 if I'm going for the rears at 265/35/19. The reason is the rears will be 7mm less in diameter than stock. Should I also drop the fronts by a similarly amount so the car doesn't thibk my rears spinning faster and therefore I'm skidding? 235 in the front will drop my diameter by 8mm so it will be 1mm off

Lol I've checked the American forums and apparently it's the ecu. The yanks get a 8 year warranty on the ecu so people have been getting them replaced. Apparently it's a technical service bulletin too but since not everyone can hear this frequency it's not a recall. How long is the warranty on our uk cars? I know standard is 3 years but if they have 8 years or 60k for ecu across the pond surely we must too?

Nope. I had a look on American sites and it may be the ecu resistors. Sounds expensive!

Hi all Does anyone else notice a very annoying high pitch tone when the car is on? I've tried to locate it but i can't. It seems to come in from my left ear so I thought it was the navigation system but I've turned that screen off. Or I thought it was the fuel pump but this tone is like a dog whistle type tone! Anyways please advise if anyone else has experienced this. I for jay to sit in my car and he also noticed it lol

I've been told that mid silencers tend to attenuate the higher frequencies so will make the exhaust note raspier. is this your experience? I'm considering taking out my mid silencers and maybe a berks hfc. how much did you pay to get your silencer chopped out? thanks p.s a video would be much appreciated. as you said the stock note is good- just too quiet. i feel we need some videos of stock with HFC, stock with delete back box and stock without mid silencer to add to the library of videos. just means people have an option not to spend £1000 on an exhaust! as for uploading it, use the tapatalk app- you can upload v easily in that

Hey, see the video you have put up, how does the actual sound compare in real life? is it much louder, is it deeper, raspier etc. a lot of the noise we hear on a vid is dependent on the mic pick up. that video doesn't seem too loud but my brains telling me its loud as hell since you only have mid silencers! once thing I've been advised is to remove mid silencer and get a berks hfc and leave stock back box. so many options!

Yes. I got some advice from tophooker which was ace and also front disks and pads have been replaced and wobbles gone. Happy days
