  1. I have a RevC lock, so that tallys with my VIN not being covered as I think they are only replacing RevA and B. So if you think you're safe...you're not! haha I hate steering locks... Some faith has been restored for the time being, I went up to check and they have put my car inside tonight. Baby steps...
  2. Dropped it off and they are not going to put the car in the workshop even though the window is down. The best they can offer is a bag over the window. The head of workshop came and asked me if that was my 350z....not a good start (and I'm not judging, each to their own, but this guy was tattooed head to toe, facial piercings and not of a friendly disposition). He then told me the workshop was full when I had actually just walked through with the service rep and it has about 6 - 8 ramps, massive workshop, with 3 ramps in use. So I have absolutely no trust in Specialist Cars Nissan Aberdeen what so ever right now. I will be going over there after tea tonight and if it is outside I will be volting the fence to put my car cover on. Little bit of icing on the cake... £100 diagnosis fee, I'm guessing that is non refundable in the event that the lock is covered by Nissan?
  3. Thanks guys, hopefully everything will still go to plan and this won't have too much of an impact...
  4. Only 925 vehicles affected? But doesn't the fact the mine has failed mean that my car has been affected? That would be my argument
  5. My car was registered in September 2010 I'll see if I can get the vin number range but I doubt they will give it to me.
  6. Right, Nissan Aberdeen have told me they will be submitting a good will claim. I don't know what my chances are but the woman at service said they take note of everything, whether you have full Nissan service history, if you've owned other Nissan cars, other weird stuff. So I'm off to buy a Micra I can turn up in. It has full nissan history up to when it was serviced at the dealer I bought it at (not nissan) and will be due a service in a few weeks which I was of course planning to have Nissan do as no other hands are worthy. I have also actually never owned a nissan before either... does this mean they hate me and I'll have to pay for my own lock?
  7. Well exactly I would have pulled the fuse if i thought mine was affected but as its a late 2010 I thought it was ok. Clearly it isn't and as above ^^ regardless of whether Nissan do fix it for free or not, its a horrible feeling sitting at work hoping to god it doesn't rain or your interior will get wreaked. Plus I have to pay for the uplift. I'll definitely be pulling the fuse once it is fixed.
  8. My car was registered 07/09/2010 and Nissan are saying that my chassis number falls outside the affected range, however clearly it doesn't as my steering lock is faulty?
  9. I tried search my search skills leave much to be desired and the only results I could find were US on Google. Thank you, thank you, thank you
  10. Hi all, Well my steering lock failed last night...won't let me turn the ignition on or anything and the window is down. I know Nissan issued a recall for this but I can only find a service bulletin with Nissan North America on it. Plus the recall was only introduced in 2013. So I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue and got it fixed under the recall here in the UK? I have tried everything, the steering lock is stuck in the unlock position which is actually the worst one because heating it up tapping it and trying again doesn't attempt to free it. I'm also a little concerned about someone removing the old one at Nissan because I think it is a cut out job due to tamper resistant bolts :/ Cheers, Dan
  11. Hi All, Apologies first if this is in the wrong section. The alarm on my 370z has never gone off and I have read they are quite sensitive. To test it I locked my girlfriend in the car and then got her to move around and wave in front of the sensors, the alarm didn't go off. I've locked the car with the window down and waved my hand inside and no luck either. So before I try the brick test does anyone have any suggestions for testing the alarm? Any definite things that ALWAYS set the alarm off. Cheers, Dan
  12. haha, well it looks like it should have more than 330bhp as it stands, never mind once this kit is on!
  13. GLWS and a very good price, does this mean you have bought new wheels? If so lets see them!
  14. I've got some rear bits from Tarmac that are still getting painted, I'm going to do them half body colour half black and add a red pinstripe, and I'll add a red pin stripe to the Tarmac side skirts I have on just now, just to see what it looks like. Hopefully it ties in nicely and that'll be that. If not then I'll go from there.
  15. Got some potential good news from specialist cars Nissan here in Aberdeen... one step closer
  16. This sounds very interesting! I hope everything goes to plan, it would be great to have a specialist in Scotland!
  17. Yeah I'm just having trouble finding a garage that understands my requirement haha, as according to them the car hasn't "officially" launched in the UK yet. Do you happen to know where I could get the part number of the current Nismo bumper, because I have spoken to the local dealer who think they might have the right part, but the last thing I want to do is order the current Nismo bumper by accident as it is non refundable. so if I could compare the 2 parts and they are different then I'll take the plunge. Thanks Dan
  18. Hi All, I'm interested in doing the conversion to the 2015 Nismo front end. The facia is selling for £235 in America. With the fender liners, finishers and grills it comes to £400 (best not to mention the cost of the DRLs). HOWEVER... in yank land they do not need headlight washers like we do. So the bumper has no mounts and no holes. So my question is can we procure a UK/EU spec version of this bumper from somewhere that has this? The US part number is FBM22-6GA0H although I'm aware that it will be different for the UK/EU spec one. Any help appreciated. Cheers, Dan
  19. Hey have the standard cats got the studs fitted, looks like they don't? Cheers, Dan

  21. How you getting on with your car mate? Also any thoughts on a 2015 Nismo facia transplant?
  22. I have done numerous headlights on cars, Ford, Vauxhall, Saab, Lexus and I will be doing the 370's over Winter as it is off the road now.
