  1. That's a great kit and I use the Megs lambswool mitt too which is great. Just remember to use the two bucket method when you wash the car using the mitt. Eg: one bucket with your shampoo in & one bucket with just water ~ you dip the mitt in the shampoo, shampoo an area of the car, rinse the mitt in the water bucket then repeat until you've done the entire car. Yep I'm gonna dig out some buckets I've got lying around in the garage. I wish I had the products today actually as the weathers nice and clear today and would have been perfect for a clean!
  2. so i've bought the megs lambswool mitt and i found this little treat to go along with it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-Meguiar-Winter-Paint-Care/dp/B00G6HQN1G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388235669&sr=8-1&keywords=winter+paint+care+kit i actually bought it from ebay for £25. i think that's got me sorted for now as it includes pretty much everything that i'd need for a starter kit
  3. can't check ebay links from work computer so will have to wait till i get home. I'm leaning towards the megs products to start off with - keep it simple with one brand and then the following time try the autoglym with supernatural
  4. or http://www.amazon.co...utoglym shampoo this is what I use thanks and sorry about the multiple posts, i saw each link one by one after posting is there a wax i can use with that autoglym shampoo?
  5. and do i need to apply this after waxing too? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-G14422EU-Ultimate-Quik-Detailer/dp/B001B0VDI6/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1388229540&sr=8-14&keywords=meguiars

  8. I've just come to visit family in Gidea Park and seen a fellow black 350Z parked on Westmoreland Avenue. I'm parked up right behind - twins!
  9. I've just ordered 2 pairs of these. One pair for the number plate lights, one for the boot and one spare. Just changed my sidelights today
  10. Got round to doing the LED sidelights today. Was a real pain to get my hand in behind the panel in the wheel arch but got it done in the end
  11. Thanks for all your responses guys. I think ill prob go down the route of megs or poorboys to begin with and get the basics. Decent buckets, wool mitt, shampoo, polish and wax and wait for the weather to improve a bit will keep you guys posted once I've had a go
  12. As I'm a complete newbie to car detailing I have a few questions. I've read through the threads about how to do it properly and that's pretty straightforward but I'm confused with the number of products out there. I'd like to have a decent set of products but I also want to keep it down to relatively affordable budget. What would be a good selection of products to use? Am I better off sticking to one brand or can i mix and match?
  13. Well since I've owned my zed I've not had to do a full fill up yet. They gave it to me with a full tank and I'm down to a quarter tank now so I'm getting ever closer to hurting my wallet!
  14. Cheers that solves my confusion!
  15. I've just downloaded this gas cubby app buy just had a quick question about entering the odometer reading. Am I meant to enter the current mileage on the car and it calculates the difference between fill ups or do I enter the mileage I've done at that particular fill-up from having resetting the counter?
  16. I also get both base and back getting warm. Although on the low setting it's a bit difficult to tell
  17. At about 12.30am I drove up behind you, a white 350z, flashed you and then drove parallel for a min or so. I was in a black 350z. We were on the A406 coming up to the section where I took the slip road to Gants Hill and you continued on the A406 towards Ilford
  18. Well it's gonna be a bit lighter around London till Friday - then we're shooting Twister The Sequel lol
  19. I woke up this morning to two of my garage roof panels missing. A friendly passer by rang the doorbell to let us know they were lying halfway up the street (I'm in a corner house). Have managed to temporarily replace them and put bricks up but need to get it done properly
  20. We got the wind pounding against the house here in London. Looks like it's here to stay the night! Stay safe everyone who's out driving, mainly from other idiots out there who don't have a scooby how to drive in British weather
  21. I've got a similar set up in my room with my youview box and ps3 hooked up to my onkyo receiver and then feeding sound to my speakers. I know you said floorstanders weren't a good option but if you have the space go for a pair of wharefdale xarus 5000 speakers and bi-amp them. You'll separate the bass from the treble and they sound awesome! I got them for £150 for the pair a couple of years ago, not sure how much they're now
  22. This is shocking but it happens, especially around Xmas. I'm actually avoiding taking my Z out on the roads because of other reckless drivers who might cause an accident. If my car's gonna get hit by some drunken idiot I'd rather it be my Polo...but like Ekona said, it's a shame for the deceased families but they should know better...and it also gives the rest of us with performance cars a bad name too
  23. I'm not too far from bluewater so would be up for a get together and do some group car pics
