Thanks Arran and GM. Remap is not currently on my to-do list so I guess I'll be looking at something which gives my car that extra growl while sacrificing a few bhp. I'll check out the websites and tarmacs also. I'll post some options here that I find and see what you guys make of it. Btw I've read a lot of people talking about using pop charger cone filters for good noise, are they good?

I'm sure this topic has been covered and asked many times but I did a search and couldn't find a thread which answered my question so firstly apologies if I'm asking a repeated question. I've got a HR engine with the dual air intakes and I'm looking to fit aftermarket products in the coming months but I'm confused with the different products available. I'm looking at the long arm going behind the grill of the car as opposed to the short ones. I've seen people talk about different combinations of pipes with filters and I wanted to know what would be good for improving sound. Also I've heard mixed reviews as to whether you gain or lose bhp - and to be honest with 313bhp already I'm not too worried if it drops by a small amount as I'm not looking to race this car but obviously I don't want to lose a noticeable amount of power. If there's a good combination of sound and either increased power or minimal reduction in power that would be ideal. Also not too clued up on prices, etc so any advice will be welcomed Again sorry if a similar thread has been done before!

I think I'll go for the £20 one for now lol. First things first lets see how thirsty my Z is...I'm almost at the end of my first tank and I'm expecting to have to fill up by end of the weekend or by NYE depending on where I decide to go...

I did that and dropped the bulbs in the lights :-( so had to strip the front end but looks good now lol Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Damn that sounds like a nightmare. I pushed my LEDs into the sockets before putting them through the hole. Made sure it was a tight fit too!

Hello from a newbie and buying advice please
chirag1988 replied to Robothobo's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
Welcome man, I just bought my zed a couple of weeks ago. Had a similar budget to you but went over by £2k because I saw one which I really wanted. You'll definitely find yourself a good zed with that budget - defo look for the HR models and look out for the GT Spec -
That's a great kit and I use the Megs lambswool mitt too which is great. Just remember to use the two bucket method when you wash the car using the mitt. Eg: one bucket with your shampoo in & one bucket with just water ~ you dip the mitt in the shampoo, shampoo an area of the car, rinse the mitt in the water bucket then repeat until you've done the entire car. Yep I'm gonna dig out some buckets I've got lying around in the garage. I wish I had the products today actually as the weathers nice and clear today and would have been perfect for a clean!

so i've bought the megs lambswool mitt and i found this little treat to go along with it. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-Meguiar-Winter-Paint-Care/dp/B00G6HQN1G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1388235669&sr=8-1&keywords=winter+paint+care+kit i actually bought it from ebay for £25. i think that's got me sorted for now as it includes pretty much everything that i'd need for a starter kit

can't check ebay links from work computer so will have to wait till i get home. I'm leaning towards the megs products to start off with - keep it simple with one brand and then the following time try the autoglym with supernatural
-
or http://www.amazon.co...utoglym shampoo this is what I use thanks and sorry about the multiple posts, i saw each link one by one after posting is there a wax i can use with that autoglym shampoo?

and do i need to apply this after waxing too? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Meguiars-G14422EU-Ultimate-Quik-Detailer/dp/B001B0VDI6/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1388229540&sr=8-14&keywords=meguiars

I've just come to visit family in Gidea Park and seen a fellow black 350Z parked on Westmoreland Avenue. I'm parked up right behind - twins!
-
I've just ordered 2 pairs of these. One pair for the number plate lights, one for the boot and one spare. Just changed my sidelights today
-
Got round to doing the LED sidelights today. Was a real pain to get my hand in behind the panel in the wheel arch but got it done in the end
-
Thanks for all your responses guys. I think ill prob go down the route of megs or poorboys to begin with and get the basics. Decent buckets, wool mitt, shampoo, polish and wax and wait for the weather to improve a bit will keep you guys posted once I've had a go

As I'm a complete newbie to car detailing I have a few questions. I've read through the threads about how to do it properly and that's pretty straightforward but I'm confused with the number of products out there. I'd like to have a decent set of products but I also want to keep it down to relatively affordable budget. What would be a good selection of products to use? Am I better off sticking to one brand or can i mix and match?
-
That's a quality set up there
-
Well since I've owned my zed I've not had to do a full fill up yet. They gave it to me with a full tank and I'm down to a quarter tank now so I'm getting ever closer to hurting my wallet!
-
Cheers that solves my confusion!

I've just downloaded this gas cubby app buy just had a quick question about entering the odometer reading. Am I meant to enter the current mileage on the car and it calculates the difference between fill ups or do I enter the mileage I've done at that particular fill-up from having resetting the counter?
