  1. The weather has been abysmal lately to post up pics of my new mods but when theres a touch of sun and free time I'll get them up. To include tarmac's gt front lip you can see in sig. waiting on genuine ings chrome badge for the boot coming. Lots and lots more mods planned
  2. Fitted the ings+1 last week, its an easy enough bumper to obtain
  3. To take bumper off both front arch liner halfs have to come off to access bumper mounting brackets. The wires to the lights are visible right in front of you and can easily be spliced into. Definitely don't have to start taking the headlights out! I done them on mine. Unless the facelift model has an entirely different front end to the earlier model, i wouldn't have thought it. Only mentioning incase it would put someone off thinking it was a bigger task than it is

    Worth a punt

I have an eonen touchscreen dvd player in my car it's Chinese and I also took a punt on it. Nissan boot logo, good sound, steering wheel controls, Bluetooth or auxiliary sound in. The only Chinese product I've ever bought that actually lasted more than a month. I've had it roughly 3 years now between cars. It was a punt but turned out to be incredible value. It's reliable and the only negative is poor Bluetooth call mic, as for the rest of it, it does what it says on the tin. The newer eonen hu's are probably better. However I would not buy unbranded, eonen are Chinese but at least they have a name and customer support.
  5. I have already chosen my boss kit.need to know if resistor mod works as above
  6. I have seen different pics around the Web for the airbag connections. Some show only one plug. Is the pic below correct for our UK models? Does the wiring vary between the years? Do I just put a 2.2ohm .25watt resistor into both these plugs and no airbag/srs light?
  7. Cool to see the antenna delete. Something I'd definitely do if I ever resprayed. Nissan could have given us something more useful with the money saved from those **** antennas
  8. How do you find these cars on street view? Just spend a lot of time looking? I heard someone on here saying the g35 was way more common in America than the zed, maybe so but my friend is in Davenport at the minute and says the place is coming down with zed, common as muck. Sent me a pic of a nice one with nismo front bumper
  9. This is why you do your own maintenance. Can't rely on dealer(stealer) service stamps Bear in mind that is the outside face where all the dirt and debris gets drawn into the airbox, not the filtered inside face, it was very clean. Intake pipes were clean as a whistle also . I took the pic to show the importance of filtering and how good a job it does.
  10. thats good enough for me guys. i think i'll leave it until another time. hopefully vortech or another reputable company make the kit soon, why haven't they already? surely the demand is out there, the HR engine getting bigger gains etc! I emailed GTM yesterday and the response i got back from them was a very blunt and brief reply (i asked detailed questions and got a 2 line reply which included a request for my full address for a quote even though pretty much all my questions were not answered, it looked like they were pretty keen to get me to part with my cash asap. I sent another reply asking the same questions and have asked about how long delivery will take exactly, I have not had a response yet. At face value the operation seems quite unprofessional, such a shame that they have a great kit but customer support is lacking. Also Thanks for your reply Andy, it would have been great to get a chat with you about the project and I have the means to pay for the supporting mods and do the job right as per your experience, that wouldn't be a problem. Unfortunately on the basis of negative reviews about delivery/lead times etc I can't part with that amount of money to be given the run around. This thread was started to get an update on GTM and as it stands people have advised to hold off. Feel sorry for you guys who have been messed around. Hopefully you get your kits soon and everything works out ok
  11. https://www.gtmotorsports.com/product.php?productid=17432 This kit is advertised as 'turn key' and I have read through the list of kit contents and everything seems to add up. At current currency rate it works out about £3753 before delivery and customs duty etc. I am sitting here seriously tempted to press the 'Add to Cart' button but need more info first. My friend is a fully qualified mechanic and is building his own car at the minute (opel manta A project). My question is does this literally bolt-on out of the box, i.e we could do this in his garage? Any fabrication work required? What about tuning? Is the supplied engine management and map really OK to use without further tuning to get advertised power gains (safe)? The only information i could find on here was about what clutch to use with this setup and the not so good situation about people waiting a long time for the kit to arrive, that would definitely p*ss me off and already I feel gutted for anyone who has parted with their cash to be let down so I thought an up to date discussion on this kit is needed. Has customer service got any better then lately? or is this whole thing just going to be a pipe dream. Thanks in advance guys for any information.
  12. Disappointed: 89 Honda CRX; - i don't care what anyone says, the handling of these things are utter balls in standard form. Thank god it was stolen. Great engine though, that's all it did have going for it. Disappointed: Fiat Punto GT; Everything about it sucked, utter scrap, no need to elaborate further. Disappointed: Focus ST 2.5; Build quality Disappointed: BMW Mini Cooper (drives in both sisters and female friend's car) good handling but gutless! I'd like a spin in a JCW to see if my mind could be changed on the little Mini's Exceeded: Mitsubishi Evo 5; the power was really impressive, 4wd with AYC (when it worked) felt like it was on rails, great build quality Exceeded: Starlet GT EP82; loved every part of it, reliable, an absolute pocket rocket, easy to work on, one of my best cars, never failed to impress me. Exceeded: Golf GTi 20v Turbo; only 150bhp standard but felt like more, once remapped it just got better! Exceeded: 350z HR, was worried it would feel much less able than my Evo, i was so wrong! If only the zed had FI stock for affordable big gains.
  13. dual mass flywheel maybe? audio not terribly clear
  14. You can buy bimecc ones on ebay for 98 quid delivered I think it was. I have them on all 4 corners, perfect quality and zero issues. Highly recommended. Edit: thats 98 a pair
  15. Every day. At work I have managed to get it down to just two glances back after walking from the car park to work's entrance but at home it's a different story!.. I will get out, lock it, tell myself to just go in the fudding house this time as it's not going anywhere and I can look at it again on the next outing. What actually happens is I lock it, walk away and before I go round the corner of the house I have a glance back, proceed to go back to the car, walk around it, admire it's beauty, think how lucky I am to own it then say OK OK thats enough, walk round corner of house, not satisfied i've looked enough so have one final peek round corner at it then finally go into the house. Definitely some sort of illness , oh yeah i forgot it's called Zeditus
  16. Does fitting an aftermarket steering wheel cancel out the entire airbag system? I know there is a resistor to fool the light but I also read this turns off the whole system/ remaining airbags too?
  17. bump! we only need 13 more people to make this happen. the problem is i can see this taking a long time and i'm too impatient if we don't reach the magic number by 4 weeks time Chris would you be able to take an average of the most demanded lip and just order a couple more of those and you could keep them in stock?? I'm sure they would sell easier with more exposure i.e your website, ebay, amazon, plugged in other nissan/350z forums? all the good body parts for these cars seem hard to obtain
  18. Few random pics today fitting champion iridium plugs. No pics of plugs just random pics of bay and the rediculous amount of short extensions to make a suitably long extension to comfortably clear strut brace as too lazy to take it off again . As I'm out at the car nearly every other day fitting stuff I might aswell have my own thread but when that starts I fear it would inevitably lead to forced induction. If it wasn't so rediculously pricey I'm going to speak to a local tuner tomorrow so he can put me off the idea once and for all..
  19. Thanks BillyJ, so far i find no issues with the combo but as you say it is early days, i need to wait until they are bedded in before I can really put pressure on them. They are quiet, no squealing (yet anyway). I would like to think these are a good oem spec replacement with a bit more performance/style being a bonus at an unbeatable price. One thing i did find with mintex pads.. when they were pressed at the factory there was a slight lip of metal left on the lateral sliding edge meaning they did not slide nicely into a freshly cleaned caliper, i was not happy with how they did not 'float' when installed and thought they could jam/seize easily so i sanded them just a smidge on our belt sander and they slid in nicely just like the OEM's. If you don't have a sander a decent metal file would do or yours might not have the slight lip mine had. For the price a little niggle was to be expected.
  20. I did that but had the sense to land on grass. My neighbour saw me and decided to copy me but he did it landing on concrete and broke his leg. His mum then came round and blamed me. My dad said to her that her son should be more intelligent next time and do it properly exactly, if your going to be stupid at least be good at it. i call it 'calculated stupidity'
  21. same as mine with 39k. looks like they all do it.
