  1. Thanks bud ~ will report back once I get my eBay speed bump in place.
  2. That's good for zeb to know then. Doesn't need anymore problems.
  3. I have told my mates I am getting a Nissan run about, so they are not expecting much. Would love to see their faces when you rock up in the new Zed. Did a similar thing with one of my mates who I hadn't seen for a while who didn't know I'd bought a Zed last year. His face was priceless especially as I'd just had my Invidia Gemini exhaust & Berks HFC's fitted so the V6 sounded incredible.
  4. Lot's of low down torque from the Zed imo. Just eats up all the hills I put in front of it here in Wales anyway.
  5. Not 100% sure but thought I'd read before that Sterling branded alarms where part of Toad Alarms?! Just had a quick search on google and have found you the remote fob you need; http://hornetcaralarms.co.uk/sterling-remotes.html According to the site the replacement to that fob is a Toad 2 button remote. Probably like this one from eBay; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toad-remote-2-button-fob-BMW-remote-/221380587370?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Safety_Security&hash=item338b4faf6a Hope that helps.
  6. Before the Zed my most recent car was a 2003 EP3 Civic Type R but before that I've had a JDM classic Impreza WRX (dyno @295bhp), Golf VR6, ST24 and various other relatively fast cars. To me the Zed is definitely the best car I've owned to date and does not feel slow at all. When driven hard, foot to the floor changing gear at every shift light point you can very quickly get up to some serious licence losing speeds. Yes it's very different from my old Civic which felt great when wound up above 6000rpm in VTEC and it doesn't have the pin you in your seat effect of a turbo boost like my old Impreza but still it's a deceptively quick vehicle. For me I just love the linear power of the Zed and incredible torque in pretty much any gear at any speed. Seriously Linus27 I think you really should go for a good test drive before you truly make up your mind. Remember as well that people who have owned these cars for a while will have gotten used to the power/acceleration available just like you do with any car really.
  7. Those wheels are shocking but looks like the rest of the car has been well maintained and I was surprised to read it's 16 years old. Aged very well.
  8. Seriously though ~ that is unlucky PiGFoetus. Feel your pain.
  9. I bet the shocks will be cheaper than a builder Without a doubt.
  10. Ah ok then.So you don't have to wear an egg stained white vest to drink it whilst hitting your wife with your free hand then?! Sounds good to me.
  11. Well make sure you remember that picture, Bob's car is, shall we say, work in progress. I hear it just evolving.
  12. Keep us posted as this problem often pops up for Zed owners.
  13. I think that idea should be reserved for the female Zed owners only. I was waiting for that GM Well I doubt many owners would want to see our hairy useless man nipples.
  14. ^^ That's so cool Doogy. That'll be my 4th option then, between using concrete & getting a professional builder in as it's probably pretty expensive to do.
  15. If I had this problem this is what I'd use.
  16. That's a good idea Keyser. I'll see how the eBay speed bump goes, then I'll try the wood, then I'll try the concrete last. If all else fails ~ Probably followed by a professional builder who knows his sh*t.
  17. Awesome. For £10 think I'll give it a go and see how I get on. Thank you everyone.
  18. 2 Litres of "Wife Beater" would probably put me in the hospital nowadays. Don't drink hardly at all and when I do it's like tonight when a can of 3.8% Carlsberg seems to be lasting me all night.
  19. Thank you everyone for your input. I didn't really think about the concrete breaking up. I just assumed that once it had set it would be good for years but I guess that's wrong. Have a look at this http://www.marshalls...ump-webfa100044 I like that idea ATTAK Z but they're not cheap. Had a look at prices for those speed bumps and the cheapest like that I found was still around £70. What do you think of this though; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261406410894?var=560300548198&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Only £10 as well so I thought I could buy one and just cut it in half to do both sides. Would need to fix it to the drive though with bolts but shouldn't be that hard. Thanks again for any info.
  20. I think that idea should be reserved for the female Zed owners only.
  21. Just wanted to run this past some of you to see what thoughts any of you had about this matter. I live on a hill and my drive way has a fairly steep angle to it. I always approach it from the top of the street in order to give me the best angle and ground clearance to get over the hump. Now the problem is that every car I've had including the Zed seems to scrape a little each time I drive onto it and tbh I've reached my breaking point with this now. Just the thought of it scraping my Invidia exhaust each time is pi**ing me right off. Now I've tried simple things before, my latest idea being to chip away small pieces of concrete in the centre of the drive way using a concrete chisel but it still hasn't fixed the scraping issue. My latest plan is to go and buy some ready mix concrete tomorrow and basically build two small concrete lumps onto the driveway. Like the picture below. It's worth noting that I cannot just flatten the top of the driveway out where it scrapes as it is part of the pavement so does not belong to me. My thinking is that these lumps will lift the front wheels up just enough to allow the centre of the underneath of the car clearance when I drive on. I was thinking of driving the car onto the drive, then when it begins to scrape, mark where the front wheels are and position my concrete lumps there. Making each one approximately a foot long and around 2-3 inches high or so. Can anyone see any problems arising from this or does anyone have any pointers with this type of DIY?. Thanks for any input.
  22. Come on Dan, give the guy a break. Could be another dyslexic member as there seem to be a few on here now with that affliction.
