  1. And they've all driven a bloody great bus through all the regulations recently. It seems to me if you are big and powerful enough then the regulations aren't worth the paper they were written on if that organisation/body decides so. This is to me is far worse than having weak regulations/standrads and "tards" operating within them. The banks decided to ride roughshod through theirs and did so with impunity. Aside from us banks there are very few industries who do have any sort of meaningful regulation..........even garages are only monitored I suppose is the right word by Trading Standards and even then its usually one word against another. In fact most tertiary (is that even a word?? I seem to remember it from school and I think I've used it in the right context!) industry is unregulated as far as I can tell.

  7. Ok, here's me clutching at straws:- 1. Take out the stereo you installed or at least remove it's fuses to see if this eliminates the problem, I favour taking it out very carefully and check to see you haven't shorted, crushed or disconnected something. 2. This is a real long shot, the mileage is stuck at 52999, did this happen immediately after you put the stereo in? If so my money is on something in No1 above, if it happened later then there is a remote possibility that the speedo has jammed and is throwing error codes and blowing a fuse but as i say it's a really long shot. If it as me I would have retraced all of my steps regarding the stereo installation it's almost too coincidental, hard to know what else to suggest so good luck with it. In the unlikely event that one of these is the solution please donate the £40 to Hope House Hospice or the Forum

  18. Had the same thing with an independent down here for Joy's Audi, the daughter of the owner told her it needed new discs and pads all round, quite ironic really that we had the whole lot changed less than 2k miles previously, needless to say they got both barrels from Joy, and I know from experience that is not a good thing Scumbags
