Maintenance Dave, finally got Nissan to agree to paint both doors under their 12 year anti-corrosion warranty

Might not be able to make this as mine has gone into the paint shop and they estimate a week before I get it back! If I do get it back in time I'll come along, keep you posted.

I'm away this weekend otherwise I would have popped over.

Congrats on your 370 purchase!.... you didn't fancy another Nismo then? As I work from home I don't drive mine much at all and often think I really should sell it and put the money in the bank but then when I do drive it, it does bring a big smile to my face and change my mind....constantly!!

The dealers are absolutely useless! They don't seem to know how to put a warranty claim in. They are just trying to get out of it. I'm sure if Nissan HQ arranged to send one of their technical chaps to look at your car and your mates they would put it through under warranty. Yours would be under their 12 year anti-corrosion warranty and especially your mates as that sounds like a nearly new car. I would ring Nissan Head office and speak to customer services. 0330 123 1231

I'm 99% certain the car needs a full Nissan service history and not to have had any previous paint done to qualify. Best advice I could give is give it a go, all depends on how helpful your local dealer is. If mine hadn't have had a full Nissan history I wouldn't have pursued it.

Well, after a year of fighting Nissan on this and having to go through the ombudsman, they have agreed to paint both doors under their 12 year anti corrosion warranty! Nissan sent a tech out to look at the car and straight away he said, yes, that's corrosion we'll get them both sorted for you. It's also common on the GTR's too! Get checking under those wing mirrors guys and girls!

Quick update......the ombudsman think I have a case so have asked Nissan to send an engineer to inspect my car. Meeting him tomorrow morning @ Westway Nissan Coventry. Finally getting somewhere, fingers crossed he agrees with me.

Sorry to hear about your house Bob, glad you're both ok though. I'll take a trip up to see you at Tarmac, only 50 mins from me. I take it you'll be doing some ramp work, hands on fitting and repairing things?

Yeah, I've cleared it with my reader. I'm going to order a couple of Berks gaskets, hopefully that will cure the exhaust leak and stop sending the o2 sensor loopy!

Are the Berk gaskets for the 370 catalytic to y pipe the same size as the OEM Nissan ones?

Will these be louder than stock cats?

So my engine light is on with fault code P2A00. O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1. Had my exhaust checked for leaks and found slight leaks on both sides where the cat bracket meets the exhaust bracket due to them being quite rusty so filled the gaps with silicone and turned light off. Could this throw up the engine light? Or is the sensor faulty and need replacing? Anybody know which side the fault is referring too?
