  1. It's all about trial and error man. You'll have some knobs next to the terminals that you can turn using a narrow screwdriver. They are to adjust the frequency and level. You've just literally got to play a tune and then go through the range on the knobs until it sounds right. You're best off adjusting your settings on your head unit too. I find that having SLA set to -4 is a good start as it means you can crank it up to the top without distortion. Keep the equaliser on flat, subwoofer setting to 200Hz, +6 -12, HPF 200Hz (set the positives and minuses to the maximum and extreme minimum. Depending on your head unit there may be some other settings but without having a proper tinker about I won't know. Pioneer units are the best for SQ setups in my opinion as you can achieve good sound control in the settings, even control the position of the sounds. I remember an old unit I had you could make the highs and miss appear to be coming from behind you even though the speakers were in the door card and on the dash!
  2. Not a fan of those mudflaps like
  3. Yes man! Looks wicked that amp, so small! Just need to have a play with the HPF knobs on the side now until you find a nice balance for the speakers. I have mine set to "face melting" for the sub and "pin drop" for the components.
  4. Pulled up at the lights next to a Corsa VXR who was giving it the nails ahead of me and asked if it was standard, to which he replied "yeah it's still under warranty, what's in that a 2 litre?", to which I replied "yeah mate right on the money!" Before pressing the loud pedal a bit too much before releasing the clutch and snaked the car away........I obviously accidentally got the pedals mixed up :o The sweetest sounding 2.0 I've ever heard, is probably what he thought, well probably not, but maybe!
  5. Looks expensive! So much want though!
  6. My favourite looking Zed of all time!
  7. Man! I am now on a mission to sound deaden the hell out of my car......
  8. That looks awesome! How much did you pay for the dynamat?
  9. Without taking the cover off it will be somewhere around there! Just puncture the rubber a little and then feed the cable through. It'll come out somewhere in the footwell.
  10. You have to take the plastic trim off that sits over the battery. The grommet is in the corner.
  11. MDF mount mate, probs the only way to do it.
  12. Oh and from the description of where you are running the cables it sounds as if you've got this one in the bag!
  13. Not jealous at all! That is an obvious lie....... Propet setup that is! People of the 350z UK forum take note, this is how you upgrade a soundsystem! It's funny you should mention that you are getting amongst I today as I am doing a little bit of soundsystem modification myself today. PM me if you get stuck bonny lad!
  14. They aren't a good example mate, there are some way better ones that you can import from the states. Worth asking the seller if they can make a set to fit RHD seats. I was looking into this before I bought my Alezans.
  15. Wow! Beautiful example, I absolutely love this colour man. GLWTS
  16. Standard Boxsters and the new Cayman couldn't get near me at Elvington at the end of October, and all after I was constantly reassured that my car was inferior by the Porsche guys! Major good feeling when the Boxster drivers put their indicators on and the Cayman driver completely went off the track because he couldn't take his eyes off the blue flash in his rear view mirror (airfield track day with plenty of runoff) I'd like to have it with a Boxster S just to see how close we would be, hopefully one turns up at Blyton next weekend!
  17. I saw another zed in a car park one night, flashed thrice, the zed didn't flash back but within seconds my car was surrounded by a load of gadgies with their tackle out. The other zed had no one on it as it happens....
  18. This car is hellish! I'm aiming to have mine near this level by the time Japfest is upon us.
  19. The resonated Cobra that I had on was unbearable for cabin drone between 2k and 2.5k RPM or between 60 and 70 mph in 6th gear. So much so that I swapped it out and went silly expensive with the Amuse R1 and the Motordyne Resonated XYZ which solved the drone! You can do it cheaper than my route but I would go one step above the Cobra resonated if you can stretch your budget a bit. There are some decent presented ones kicking about at the minute like, and if none tickle your fancy then one will pop up sooner or later!
  20. Mine's just a little bit further down with one of the photos from when Evo had it.
  21. Need the B pillar covers if you have them? Need to be in nipping condition!
  22. I've seen a red 370z kicking about the Doxford Park/Ryhope/Tunstall area with a ZED number plate. There seem to be a few more zeds knocking about our neck of the woods recently.
  23. I've worked in both and there are an equal amount of things to do and see, however given the choice I'd go and do Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama again. New Orleans is bloody awesome and Mobile in Alabama is a great place too. As it happens I'm off to Miami and the Keys for a holiday in May but I'm not doing a massive road trip otherwise I'd be considering the Deep South myself!
