  1. Ian, I live in Sunderland but I take my car down to Falcon Performance in Middlesbrough. They are worth the drive mate. Phil
  2. I used Oponeo for my Vredesteins. £660 for all four delivered. Some £220 cheaper than the next cheapest!
  3. Alreet! Booking my track day tonight due to hearing the news that my zed will be ready for action on Friday evening (please don't find any unseen naughties Lee @ Falcon!) So I'm gonna pose the question.....are any of you guys up for a last minute booking so that I'm not the only zed out there having fun? Javelin Trackdays are running the event and it's an open pit lane so unlimited runs all day long! If not then I will be staying around the Hull area for the night on Friday evening so if anyone knows of any local activities or meets then I'm up for fun and games! Peace Phil
  4. Ha! Well the previous owner would have most certainly done it twice had he ever gone near a track! The EBC Yellow Stuff pads I replaced them with are a testament to my motto. ive just put yellow stuff on mine and they are great. one of my mates had them on a clio sport though and the pads fell apart at knockhill I've given mine a good running in and they are excellent under a bit of spirited driving along the country roads.

  6. To be fair Javelin are pretty good with their marshalling. They spotted almost straight away that my pads were just getting munched as I was kicking out clouds of brake dust. The balloon who had the car before me obviously scrimped and put some nice dairy toffee in the callipers. The thing is I checked them before I left and there was a full carvery's worth of meat on them so they must have been budget as hell!
  7. Nice spot! Hot hatch, but it has the performance to surprise quite a few so called sports cars!
  8. Hope there aren't any dicks like this guy at Blyton this weekend!
  9. It certainly went through my head afterwards!
  10. They certainly seem to be acting as if they are in a race.
  11. No track etiquette whatsoever! Faster car coming past towards a bend......balls to him I'll make him take the outside line. Tosser
  12. Is that Kevin Bacon driving that car?
  13. The guy driving this car is an absolute whopper! Hands all over the steering wheel, taking awkward lines and steaming right into the back of that Corsa after it had obviously clipped that Impreza. Zero awareness, no skill and a bit too excited.

Would be my advice if he was doing the install himself but he is getting the work done professionally. I got my Rainbow components on EBay for £100 and they retailed at £300 3 or 4 years back!

The Bose system is chod, full blown cack out of the bum. If you replace the speakers and not the sub then you will be immensely disappointed as it will not do the system justice. It sounds decent at present because you have the standard speakers distorting up high and the bass is.....well.....bass I guess! You can pick up some subs that will go in without needing to do anything other than replace the original and wire it up, free air I think they are called. Trust me, you'll be better off doing it. For £400 I would just disconnect the rear speakers and go for a set of components with a sub. Coaxial a for the rears are honestly not necessary and if you really must have them then you can always add to the system at a later date. Anyways you're in luck when it comes to top quality audio installers in Leicester as you have a Four Masters registered dealer nearby. Plush Automotive are unbelievable and as it happens one of my mate's cars represents them at quite a few shows throughout the year. Their address is: 126 Station Road, Broughton Astley, Leicester, Leicestershire, LE9 6PW Not only will they do a proper job, they will set the system up to however you want it to sound. Look out for photos of Paul Bailey's Golf R32 in the shop, he's spent a lot of money there! For your money you should be looking at Hertz, Morel or Rainbow components, Hertz or Pioneer subwoofer and maybe an Alpine amp. I have some more detailed info that I will PM you with.

Well if you are going to have it all fitted then you are limiting yourself to whatever the shop has in as any decent audio installer won't go near customer provided gear (unless you know them!) I know you said you can't be bothered but you will be compromising a canny chunk off your budget to have it installed, but if you are set on that then....... .....let me know your location and I'll be able to point you in the right direction mate. I can advise you based on an equipment budget of £400 as installation and wiring will be around the £100 I would have thought. Are you wanting a freestanding subwoofer, an under strut box or a direct replacement for the Bose sub?

I can advise you all day long mate. All depends on your budget and what you want out of the system.
  18. Ten grand for two seats?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm sorry but that is absurd! I can't even afford to buy a set of Brides at the minute and you're talking about spunking ten grand on 2 seats! Christ......
  19. I like to think that folk that buy sports cars are petrol heads and take an interest in all cars, like me, but it seems that the new breed of kids just buy a car "cos it gans git fast hew!"
  20. To be fair the majority of the kids on the car scene round here who drive those types of cars know their stuff, turns out this guy wasn't one of them.
  21. Pretty annoying that a kid in a sports car doesn't know what size engine is in a 350z. The snaking away was 100% legit, you don't have to be racing to do it you know.
  22. The OP opened a discussion about annoying comments about the zed, my post was merely stating that this uneducated VXR driver thought that the zed had a 2.0 in it. No racing took place, only a display of what a "2 litre" engine sounds like. But you got the point, right?
