  1. I have a Tom Tom, think it's a 750 or 900 can't remember which - it's pretty good. I'd get one of EBay no second thoughts, there must be loads of people who have upgraded to cars with 'built-in' who are selling off because they no longer need theirs http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TomTom-Satnav-Go-910-EUROPE-8-35-USA-GPS-RADAR-NEW-20-GB-/222044786051?hash=item33b2e68d83:g:xEEAAOSwv9hW2~Z4 Edit - Like this actually, pretty much right on the money too
  2. I'm sure that K+N is good for the job but have a look and see if they make an X-Stream the same size, they flow even more air due to the new design, the website has a list of sizes you can get the product number from. Me, I just measured the space and bought the biggest one that would fit in there
  3. Did you just remove the air box and clamp that on? Would look so much better! This makes me mad that I didn't do the research first. Pretty much, there's an adaptor I got off E-Bay, came with a shi**y cone filter I just binned but I got it on the cheap so wasn't concerned. I wouldn't have used that filter (or the Apexi as it happens) on a lawnmower let alone a car. I also got a heatshield from E-Bay that clamps on around the filter. Seems to do the job OK and makes a nice noise too, I don't suppose when you're actually moving there's a lot of difference in air temps between that and the standard airbox going in. However as it's not really possible to actively test this I guess we will never know If you are on the FB adding page gimme an add and you can see it in my Zed pix - I appear to have reached the limit in my gallery here
  4. I have one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/311333786958?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 You'd not tell the difference between this and the JWT/Standard airbox, 'tho I had an Apexi on before, what a POS, I could tell immediately the car was breathing better with the K+N
  5. If the actual weave is undamaged then you should be able to 'touch it up' to a reasonably decent finish, with your skills, it wouldn't ever be perfect but you'd have to be pretty OCD to notice .
  6. Hummmm ...................... I think the 350Z owners club might just have more than its love of a certain model of vehicle in common
  7. I think I'm actually impressed with the knowledge of weed and stash holes by the forum ........ allegedly LoL
  8. Please tell me you have read all of Douglas Adams?
  9. Makes good sense using the hibiscrub. Chlorohexidine Gluconate all the way! If your hood is prone to mould then this method deffo works. I can vouch for the sealants too, we used to use 303 on the vinyl of our RIB annually which worked a treat, despite being left in seawater for months on end, also inhibiting green stuff growth. I just tried the Nikwax shampoo and sealant this winter out of interest after my own research led me to it. Results = so far so good after a couple of months. I will update if there's any change It makes sense to fully deep clean and reseal at least once a year, especially if you're hood is natural material, the vinyl is more hard core
  10. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/106153-opinions-on-engine-condition/ This guy might have a serviceable one for a decent price
  11. Mine's the original vinyl roof and I'm not sure if it makes a lot of difference what you use on them but I use Hibiscrub (the stuff surgeons use to 'scrub-up' in hospitals) to deep clean it once a year. It's an anti-microbial and gets rid of and appears to protect against the dreaded green mould. Then I reseal with either Nikwax or Aerospace 303. The 303 seems to give the best black finish.
  12. But the look on her face when she sees that Lamborghini who's key you impressed her with - Priceless LoL
  13. Funny you should mention this! I saw people in my FB feed talking about 90s nostalgia cars, it was on the pistonheads page actually. There was an awesome Cherry red Landcruiser a long with mentions of the evo pajero! Said Landcruiser: http://www.pistonhea...5dr/4844208?v=b £12,475 though!! It was me who mentioned the Pajero on that page, the PH lot have also suddenly decided it's a cool motor and this article was made. Which probably means it's no longer cool
  14. Oooops, might have started something http://www.pistonheads.com/features/ph-features-heroes/mitsubishi-pajero-evolution-ph-heroes/33470?utm_content=buffer22cb6&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=buffer
  15. I think the heating method only works for the Vinyl OEM roof which gets stiff as it gets colder, 'though it's worth a try. Lindsey, make sure the cars running so you have full electric ampage, make sure the car's out of gear and foot on the footbrake, then push the roof switch down to try to open the roof fully. If it only go's a little then stop and try the switch the other way. Keep doing this back and forth and it ought to eventually go all the way up and down. I wouldn't try to force it manually just use the motors. Hope it works
  16. You see, to me that's cool. Its a shXbox BMW, it did everything that was asked of it, probably thrashed within an inch of it's life, ugly as sin and would you buy one? NO. please for F's sake NO. It's cool because it's a rental No sane person would part with hard earned cash for one of those for keeps
  17. I mentioned 3, I wouldn't call any of them 'mainstream' they are all relatively rare and very good 4X4s that were cool when 1st introduced, haven't aged and are still (IMHO) cool now - That and I'm the coolest person I know with the coolest taste makes any of them a great choice. Then that and the fact that I don't give a flick what anyone else thinks
  18. Always had a soft spot for these: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201509176984559?page=2&make=mercedes-benz&model=g_wagen&sort=default&radius=1500&onesearchad=used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew&search-target=usedcars&postcode=WA16%209ED&logcode=p
  19. An evo pajero?! WHAT! Never knew there was such a specimen. My dad had an early Tourag when I was younger, it drove like a boat and sounded like a tractor, although a V10 would put that right! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk http://www.autospeed...&A=3081Read and weep http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/mitsubishi/shogun-pajero/mitsubishi-pajero-evolution-tiptronic/5220281?v=b Oh jeeze you got me at it now
  20. Interesting!! Keeping my eye on this, it's always wise to be aware of the latest attempted scams
  21. =1 for the Pajero here especially if you can get hold of the Evolution version, that's a serious piece of kit. I'm also a big fan of the VW Tourag and there's aV10 TDI too
  22. To clean the roof I found the best stuff is Hibiscrub, the stuff that surgeons use for 'scrubbing up', you can get it from most pharmacies. Give it a good scrubbing a couple of times with a scrubbing brush and make sure you rinse it off with plenty of warm water. Then I use http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0035FAYKS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00 to rewaterproof it. Seems to work well and keeps the dreaded green mould at bay
  23. They all do that I shouldn't worry too much. Mine is in a way worse state than that. You have to watch for it peeling off to the side of the door windows where it gets even worse. You can get like a silicon sealer or I used wetsuit glue to go in the gaps, looks a bit messy but who cares - the roofs up when it's wet and down most other times Edit: The standard roof is vinyl.
  24. I'd guess it depends on the head unit. I have to switch mine to 'AUX' then it shows :)
  25. http://www.spa-uk.co...re Gauge (DG215) Tried to fix that link but you need to add a ) to the end to get it to work - doesn't seem to like to do it lol
