I went to see Mitz and Andy at Cougar Store this morning, to give my car an all important once over check. I didn't have any issues to begin with as I had previously read what to check for before I purchased my zed, but I just wanted somebody who knows these cars to have a good look. I was very pleased with the verdict. They told me that it is a very clean and tidy example. One of the best they had seen I had a new set of HKS panel filters fitted whilst there, as the stickers that said ITG filters installed were now wrong, as it appears that when the last service was done by previous owner, the numpty mechanic had replaced the ITG filters with OEM Nissan ones One other thing. I couldn't leave there without ordering a nice Cobra resonated exhaust and Y pipe Looking forward to having that fitted. And then I'll book in for a P3 after Christmas. Cheers Mitz and Andy.

I remember those days well mate. Hella spots on the front and all that. Me and 3 mates swapping an engine in my Ford Capri, using a scaffold pole and some rope as an engine hoist

Extra guages mean extra things to worry about. Very true..... but for me gauges have saved me more than one engine in the past. Agree. They have for me too. You just have to find the right balance between having a nice drive whilst concentrating on the road, occasionally glancing at the guages, or constantly watching the guages expecting something to happen, therefore spoiling your drive. I often get asked, "Why have you got a voltmeter?". "To see if the alternators working", I tell em. "Don't need one of them in my car, and my cars got an alternator", they say.

Welcome. Nice looking zed you have there.

What's your oil consumption for the record ? Hasn't used a drop in the 4 weeks of ownership Driven 60 miles per day btw Ah that's good ! I was hoping you would say that

Similar to the mileage when the problem arose on the G35 then. I'm sure we have other HR owners with that sort of mileage. Pete Yep, me for one. Just ticked over 70k on a 57 plate. My pressure is up at 65-70psi on cold startup. Drops down to around 30ish within a minute of warming up and stays between 20-30 on a normal drive, rising rapidly if I boot it. In stationary traffic with a warm engine it'll be really low, just above the minimum on the guage

A stubby aerial Cuts down wind resistance

Both barrels eh Dan

£380 including the reversing camera It was a simple install in my last car, so once I've read through the console removal guide on here, it shouldn't be too bad to do.

App radio or sat nav + headunit seperate?
steve916 replied to -350-Ed-'s topic in I.C.E & Electronics
Do you think if I went down this route, I could be streaming music via bluetooth to a headunit, whilst simultaneously using the tomtom software on my phone as a sat nav? Have a look at my build thread and see what head unit I have just ordered. Does everything you want and more. I've had one before and can honestly say it's the best unit I've had. My new one arrives in around 10 days, so looking forward to fitting that. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92118-steve916-build-thread/ -
Have a look at my build thread and you can see what double din I have just ordered. Had one before in a previous car and it's an awesome bit of kit. Full Bluetooth audio etc, and also added a reversing camera to the order. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/92118-steve916-build-thread/

Well, I kept umming and ahhing about wether to do the Bose Ipod hack or to change the stereo completely. I have decided to do the latter, and I have ordered an all singing and dancing Android unit. It has bluetooth connectivity both for phone use and A2DP music over bluetooth. It has satnav built in which is fully customisable. Wifi connectivity, in case i want to tether it to my phone to get internet. DVD and CD player. MP3 player, front usb slots etc etc. Photos below show the unit and some of the screenshots. I have ordered it from a trusted trader that I bought one of these units from for a previous car i had, a couple of years back. I have also ordered a reversing camera. Just have to wait 10-14 days for delivery now

All good advice, and the reason Im going to see Mitz on Saturday
-
Sounds a bit like my story. Had my zed 4 weeks now. Some idiot scraped it last weekend whilst it was parked up, so I have extra expense to get that repaired now. I wasn't planning on modding, but couldn't hold off any more. So far I have changed the aerial to a stubby and added spacers. I have new front and rear burgers to fit sometime. Club stickers added to each side. I have also this evening ordered an all singing and dancing double din stereo/ satnav unit. I'm also off to see Mitz at CS this Saturday. It's never ending

Seems odd though, don't you think? I mean, I can only be driving one car at a time.

I'm with Tesco Insurance as we already have our other car insured through them. I asked if I could add to a multi car policy. I was told that they don't do multi car policies anymore, and this is now the norm with other insurers too. I was also told that although I have maximum 9+ years NCD, I can't transfer that to this car, and would basically have to start again on this car. Now, I'm not sure exactly how much of that is actually true, but I still went with them as they quoted me well under £400. Ok, perhaps I shouldn't have given in to them so easily, but I just wanted insurance as I wanted to pick the zed up. Next year I'll shop around a bit more, but as I said the price I thought was pretty good.

Great advice there. I've bookmarked it

I'm in Huntingdon mate. Any other vehicle and I might have worked out fuel costs to West Yorkshire, but I fear a zed would cost more than the repair in fuel I just need to find a local trustworthy body shop
-
I thought it was a bit high. They said the would remove the rear light and fuel cap, repair the dent and re spray the whole panel. Another quote I got later was £140 but no mention of the whole panel.
