  1. Looks nice, how did you find this? Is it a Japanese car dealer? What sort of money do they go for? I've always liked the turbo supra.
  2. 8am you came off nth circ and went north on hendon way, looks like you were runnin late, nice nismo plate !!
  3. Ok spent most of the day finishing off the work started, for a first attempt at bodywork I'm not disappointed, however I can see there is a lot of uneven bits which does make it a very amateur repair. I've learnt a lot from doing these three jobs, especially how important getting the filler on correctly "or not in my case " also I found that priming was very helpful also kept rubbing it down to fill the fine aero holes that I had from the filler I guess I must have mixed in air to it? Can't wait for the next job, here's some pics, you can see the aero and also the orange peel effect, but I still need to either polish it down or compound it , not really sure how to tackle this, thanks for looking!!!
  4. Yes another bug for me was the spreader only had a small one supplied with the filler, it was crap had to keep ANSI g the edge to get a clean scrape, does the flexi sanders fit most grinders, I have the usual cheapest Argos small one a large version and I also bought a professional polisher which has loads of heads, I'm sure o e will take the flexi sander, will keep you updated.
  5. Thx for the advice, I must admit your xkr has me looking at that one on eBay? The rivets are countersunk, I've put two thick layers of filler now which needs sanding, could not remove all rust as I am short on tools, the grinders at work, and only have an arc welder, may invest in a mig if I carry on, I think the main thing I need is a good sanding disc, I have only got a flat drill type and it does not flex etc, so hand sanding it now with 60 grit to flatten, then put more filler on fine, then used 320 grit, it's actually very hard to get the contour right but I am going to flip this car in a week once it has a new mot, if it passes?
  6. Last night won a 1.6 tigra on eBay for next to nothing, thought it may be ok from the ad, engine is fine, pulled Into fill up and had a quick look round,oh dear it has half a wheel arch missing, a rusty boot lock and the door sill is very rusty. As a beginner I don't think I've done to bad, cleaned loose rust, put rust remover, patched holes on sill and boot, cut some metal for wheel arch shaped it and epoxied it on, filler on everything inc my fingers. Wheel arch did not glue properly as edges were up went and got a riveter, worked a treat and here's some pics I took, will hopefully get some paint and finish it off Wednesday, not professional but it was fun having a go!! I know it's not brilliant but for a novice I've enjoyed doing it apart from my back aches like hell. Will put the final pics up when it's done.
  7. Looks like it fits very nicely, it's unlike your knob though, the one on the left, not your actual knob that's probably tiny! "Joke" "teeth"
  8. Front seats of a ford transit works a treat and no leg cramps like on a fiesta as the seats are just the right height. No knocks on my window. Those Swedish ai pairs were so friendly when I was young, must have a few bastards running around in Sweden.
  9. You are extremely lucky if you were not injured, the car has had shunts nearly all over it. Getting paid out so quick is almost unheard of, but I guess as your in the business you have the inside track. Hope you get your next zed sorted out soon and glad to see you walked away from what could have caused serious injury, it also shows that Zelda can take quite a battering.
  10. If someone gets hold of you son, there's nothing I can do !! "Scare" "Get to bed" "Wait till your father gets home" "That didn't hurt" "Do you want me to tuck you in"
  11. Thx I have now managed to get one.
  12. Was sitting behind you wondering why you had your wipers on full speed when it was not raining? Hope they are still ok!!! "Teeth"
  13. Love watching this for the mechanics lesson, I have to admit to something , the last few cars I have sold I turned round to the buyer and said "put your hand out you just bought yourself a merc" it's such a cliche but they always smile,,obviously I have traded up for real, a good wash and polish with a bit of bodywork is all I have had to do, after 18 cars now have a z biut not selling it yet but when I do I'm a bit stumped on the next car, would like to end up with a super car, r8 or 911 type. Trading up is a real let down, but as programes evolve it may lead to a good reality car programe soon. Should have filmed all my long train journeys and then the drive home.
  14. Really like the mod, would seriously like to get something done to mine, could it be wired to the sidelights?
  15. Just seen a cat c 2007 with mechanical problems, no crash damage but looks like may need an engine rebuild, anyone in Essex fancy doing a track car or group sharing this? Getting some more info on it Monday, wondering what it will go for. :scare: to whacky will
  16. Yes i did glance at it it was a bit below 60 Now oil in it goes up and down with revs to between 50-70 aprox
  17. Thx, I have been reading all the oil change threads, may give it a go myself , and do the plugs pads and fluids, apart from compression tests and engine rattle i guess it's hard to determine what level of damage my engine has recieved, maybee if it drinks lots of oil it defo screwed .. There's no smoke at least so hoping its minimal, I'll be talking with Alex on my return from espana Thx
  18. Had my 350 for a few weeks, when I got it first thing I did was check the oil. It showed up as middle on dipstick and looked very dark, I was not going to drive it till a repair was done to the car, but have taken it out for about 20-30 miles here and there , just thought I'd check it yesterday had a shock as the dipstick had no oil on it , so bought 4 litre and used aprox 3.2 liters to bring it up to 3/4 on the dipstick, started it up and it seems fine, drove it around for 10 min then left it to settle for 30 min, reading is still ok, then i noticed my drive has a very small incline so the front of the car was very slightly higher but you would not tell from just looking , do you think the oil may have been sitting back in the sump?? And now I may have overfilled a bit? Anyway I'm thinking to do a full p3 service now and have the engine checked for any signs of damage, I'm also wondering if the car did only have say 1.5 liters of oil would the damage be minimal, I did drive it hard during the last two weeks, :scare:
  19. Phew lucky I read this thread, was gonna buy a k1, but not now!!! Thx
  20. Halfrauds don't have any black rubber spray for me looks like you lot have bought it all for your personel use,,,
  21. Those wheels look great, what would they go for with the tyres?
  22. Thx kc, will check it out, don't really want to loose the rubber finish as it feels kinda good
  23. Cheers for that, taking the steering wheel off sounds a bit severe, airbag etc, wondering if to just polish it off fully or leave well alone. Was hoping there's a rubber paint to touch up each dig? Is it a door card off to remove for vinyl wrap, may have a go at this in the summer.
