Sorry, mistype A45

So its looks like the Vx220 might have to go to fund the finishing of my house build, i really dont want to get rid but i am speculating to accumulate and will be in a better financial position once the house is finished. I will be sad to see it go, its a mental car, but, i can always buy another next year or hopefully up the budget, so with that in mind and pending on budget available i have been thinking of a few choices/options, so between the 2 given, what would you go for? Ultima GTR Nissan GTR Supecharged E92 A45 Amg

Apologies, i presumed you meant original as in umodified, not S1 specfic, but regardless an 05 is in budget just and i dont believe the conversation was limited to just Series 1 Elises: https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/elise-s2/2005-lotus-elise-111r-in-ardent-red/7603443 https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/lotus/elise-s2/lotus-elise-111s-2005/7109893 or a Series1 with a K20 engine will do the quarter in a better time than a 350z, so either way, yes an Elise will do the quarter in 13.7 or better!

Not a problem, fill your boots , 2005 Elise http://www.zeroto60times.com/vehicle-make/lotus-0-60-mph-times/ Op, what specifically do you want the weekend car for, track, driving experience, the scene or just something different to what you have?
-
Mine hasnt missed a beat, ok its running a forged engine but that wont really help with reliability and you are pretty much using the same ancillaries as stock. I regularly (not so much this year) drive over 2 hours to a track day, drive round all day, drive 2 hours home, ok i am pretty wiped out but its perfectly do able. I think the guys on vx220 are suggesting that its not a nice comfy tin top like the 350z, a fezz heater is a great upgrade and works a treat, i think i have only had need for the roof once during a heavy shower (didnt leak), but it spends 99% of the time folded away in the boot. If you want a weekend car and an awesome driving experience it cant be beat, that to me is what a weekend car is all about. P.s I wouldnt pay too much attention to the owners from vx220, whilst they may be very knowledgeable about the car, their opinions on other vehicles are formed from opinion only, there are quite a few owners on here who have owned both so have first hand experience so can offer real world facts/experience, not just what is perceived in their mind, an opening quote to my introduction (mentioning 350z) on there was, you might struggle with a "real mans car", that told me all i needed to know about the type of members involved.

Good god, 130mph through the last corner
-
A mate of mine is of similar stature, he seemed happy enough in there
-
I refuse to accept any comments regarding styling/looks from someone who "choose" to own a 350z convertible and ones current car looks like a sad pikachu pokemon and then to top it off decided to change its colour to that of a traffic cone
-
Most people (apart from Radicals) only see it from behind, briefly
-
Well of course I shall be more specific, road cars

I think i may have just replied to a post you made on the Vx forum. My Vx is cheaper to insure than my supercharged 350z and about the same as my std 350z, try REIS, they are awesome. As for badges, trust me, i have not found anything on track that can live with it,be proud to wear the Vauxhall badge, only upsets them more when you come past, especially Elise owners

Probably agree with Docwra, being drunk impairs your senses. My nephew of 28 had a bit of a ruck with a mate recently, his mate gave him his keys at the start of the night saying, dont let me have them back to drive home drunk, at the end of the night when drunk it kicked off because guess what, he wanted his keys back. However i also agree with Ekona, i do not understand habitual drunk drivers, i guess its just the, it wont happen to me attitude.

The AR1's do come staggered but will just be a 35 profile on the rears which wont present a problem. Ihttp://www.nankangtyre.co.uk/performance/motorsport/ar-1 I wouldnt be adverse to running a square set up on track as the Zed can be a little understeery, you would just need a pair of rear Rays to accommodate the extra width
-
The Toyos have triangle markets on the side wall, the tyre scrub should be just touching the top of this marker, so quite easy to get your pressures perfect, too far down and the pressures to low, not touching and its too high. I am personally a big fan of the Nankang AR1's, they have the same triangle wear indicator at the r888's, i have them on the rear of my vx220 running 350hp and they offer exceptional levels of grip, not had cause to ever think they are not up to the job.

Reckon there will be a few on here who love that wide arch with wheels that dont fill the arches look Got to love that Lexus. -
As i said, if you are a traffic light hero or vin diesel you are going to be impressed by 0-60 times, the irony is, i doubt once in your ownership you have ever gone 0-60 so its utterly irrelevant, statistically or physically and that goes for ice or ev and if you do decide to floor it from every set of traffic lights, you arent going to get anywhere near your max range so you can put up your above video and claim a moral victory, but aside looks and noise, the Huracan will do that all day whilst you are still looking for the plug socket and please feel free to replicate what the nissan micra like a45 amg can do with something a little more interesting than a straight bit of boring tarmac in front of you and we will be seeing some more photos of written of Teslas.
-
Of course, but front wheel/rwd/ to a degree 4wd, is mostly irrelevant, you limiting factor is tyres/traction, take a watch of some drag racing and see the kind of tyres they have to run to get the desired launches, its simple physics so not a chance hot hatches will be 3 second 0-60 anytime soon. I watched and A45 Amg (4.6 0-60) take off at from standstill into a roundabout yesterday, i was genuinely shocked, there isnt a Tesla in the world that would be keeping up with that, unless your first name is Vin, second Diesel and the world was straights roads, its just pub and forum bragging rights and fruitless
-
The limit is mostly down to available traction and being most hot hatches are front wheel drive, physics will come into play, hp is irrelevant, at some point you have to put the power to the ground.

A few expression for you: A fool and their money are easily parted Money cant buy you taste/style So its a perfectly valid comment, i have literally no idea why you think money warrants any kind of exclusion, do you think if you have £130k to spend on a car you are better than anyone else, no need to answer you obviously do.
-
Opinions seem mostly based around a few extra revs to play with and better interior, for the increase in cost, i personally wouldnt or couldnt warrant it, being you have driven a de you are in a perfect position to make a balanced judgement so go get a drive in one, only you can decide if its warranted
-
I have been on track with a mate both 350z in std trim, neither was noticeable faster, my brakes were fine absolutely fine, he boiled his fluid and lost his pedal, its very much down to how you use them more than this combination is right or wrong.
