Apparently one hell of a character I have some excellent stories of his eccentricity
-
A good buddy of mine worked for Klaus at Ascari, well a couple actually, did you work there too?
-
Be careful on mounting depth, you may need a spacer to fit a good quality speaker.

If anyone took offence to Limey or Pommy, Paddy or Jock or anything else i think they need their heads read, the less fuss made about it, the less the word will be used in an offensive nature as it is then immediately nullified! Stephen Fry said in well imho but it cant be repeated on here

Can't actually see anything wrong with it??

Yes as long as it doesn't require registration or homoligation. Not necessarily, they might be required to break it as per the t&c's of them buying it so it specifically doesnt end up wearing flase plates/identity etc I am sure if it could be sold whole they would advertise it as being available whole and not be so specific. -
From tyres to racism, impressive I never realised the C word (well this one) was deemed offensive, i like NeilP thought it a shortened nickname like Brit, Scot etc Sure i saw somewhere BulletMagnet referring to his best man as Mr Chow from the Hangover films, would have thought that far more abusive!

Odd that is a left hooker, most likely seized and its identity cant be traced so no documentation to be able to put it back on the road. We have a waste company down here who remove cars for the council, no road tax or traceable owner, stolen recovered, abandoned etc You cant even get parts from them, they have to be crushed. Of course there are some right wrecks, but some pretty decent stuff too. I used to buy a few imports from the two auctions at Southampton docks when we got the barrage of imports until the exchange rate went bad, occasionally they would get a car and the paperwork from Japan would get lost, no chance of ever getting it registered over here so they were sold for scrap! Shame though for what looks like a perfectly good car to get broken down. -
Just checked, Camskill are doing Rsr's for: 235/40/18 for £134 245/35/18 for £145 255/35/18 for £135 265/35/18 for £148 285/30/18 for £156 Federal also do a FZ201 which is more track day but a fair chunk more cash, similar price to 888's

Pretty impressed with the Federals Andy, i ran some on my 7 including a track day or 2, they coped well with 500hp on a 265 rear, awesome grip and if they did start to spin and let go it was very progressive and controllable. Even had a greasy damp session thrown in which they felt good on which was surprising, never broke in a straight line. Considering the price i think you would be hard pushed to beat them.

Any chance of making this a sticky for the benefit of members please mods http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/79656-all-encompassing-wheel-size-offset-thread/
-
I will kick off Volk SF Winnings Wheel Size 19 x 8.5 & 19 x 9.5 Offset (front & rear) Front ET 25 & Rear ET 17 Tyre Size Front 245/40/19 & Rear 275/30/19 Lowered Apex Springs Spacer sized if used 3mm on front Arch work if necessary No arch work Rear Camber -1
-
Seems questions surrounding wheel & tyre size, offsets are frequently asked, so hoping we could start a wheel sticky of what members are using. Please no posts on theory, only experience of what you have, maybe an odd photo or two giving ideas of what they look like, mainly for offsets Info is the key here, so, how about a template: Wheel Size Offset (front & rear) Tyre Size Lowered Spacer sized if used Arch work if necessary Rear Camber
-
I understand offsets and how to work them out, i was more thinking a practical thread of what people are actually running for future reference
-
Although the offset is 20, you have pushed them out a further 25mm by adding the spacers, so effectively making them -5
-
Any chance of getting a sticky up in the wheel section of an all encompassing wheel size/tyre size/offset etc if i start a thread. Seems the question is often asked so if members posted as to their set up covering: size, offset, tyre, lowered and arch work if necessary it would be a good point of reference

No rolling on the rears with -5, is that with a fair bit of camber and stretch on the tyre? I dont have -5 on the rears or have you quoted the wrong one? As for tyres I run 225/45/18 (front, stretched) 245/45/18 (rear, little stretched) No rolling on the rears with -5, is that with a fair bit of camber and stretch on the tyre? As for tyres I run 225/45/18 (front, stretched) 245/45/18 (rear, little stretched) If your et 20 all round and running 25mm spacers on the rear your effectively -5. or have i read that wrong?

Too much tinkering by far to try and make it close racing, which has obviously failed, particularly this year. Stop tinkering and introducing stupid rules like double points, drs, kers or now ers, tyre design etc etc No point in having a full grid if half the cars cant compete, i would prefer to see 3 teams and 6 cars if the racing was tighter, who really cares about what is going on half way down the field, does anyone really have any interest in caterham (apart from being british) and Marrusia and what they achieve. Its just a fill in until you see the leaders again if you are at the circuit. I want to see drivers racing their cars to their full ability for all of the race, not a number of laps and then 70% or so.

Ah your quite far away from me, I was gonna suggest getting in contact with Julian at Garage D in watford as thats where my engine is being rebuilt/uprated. He also has a VQ30DET for £1500 for sale. fits straight in to a Zed. Nice 3ltr single turbo if you fancy a nice engine swap. I was gonna go for it but I wanna do a RB25 engine conversion next year! I am not so sure its thats simple to fit the vq30, do you know if they retain all the standard canbus system and how they overcome the throttle, 350 is fly by wire and vq30 is cable? You are correct with the throttle it just get put on to a cable instead of electronic, Julian said its really easy to do. He knows his stuff and he said it has the same mounts and fits straights onto the gear box. the only part thats a lot work/money is making the pipe work for the intercooler and a custom exhaust. Apart from that it goes straight in. There was a post somewhere on here that a dude in America had done it before and it worked really well. Think it was on your thread, i did a little looking about after you mentioned it and it is talked about a lot in the states but not many conversions actually done. Would like to hear more details about the wiring up, ecu and canbus stuff but cant seem to find any details on it If my engine ever went pop it would be something i would look at for sure I was so tempted as He has the engine complete with ECU and loom for £1500. If my engine had gone bang any other time other than christmas I would of done in in a heart beat, but Ive gone with a a full rebuild with uprated parts. Julian has said to me he wants to do a RB25 conversion on my car, so see what the funds say in the summer. I'd love to see one of the 35z-uk family do the VQ30 conversion, but not for the reasons their engine has died, cause no one likes hearing that. There is a company in the states who do a rb25 conversion kit, will try and find the site, if i was going for something like that though (big hp) i think i would go a 2jz though, kits available of the shelf and a bombproof engine, 500 - 600hp without breaking a sweat Apparently you can fit 350z heads onto the vq block as they give better breathing http://my350z.com/fo...z-2jz-swap.html WOW! http://tech2motorsports.com/products.php?c=4&s=13 http://www.driftworks.com/forum/drift-car-projects-builds/71587-my-finished-project-2jz-350z-tech-2-motorsports.html
