The Porsche is also out of most peoples reach which makes it something to aspire to All valid points But i have no aspiration to own a Porsche regardless of how good they are, they just dont float my boat. My desire stretches to more than a Nissan as well though, but given a lets say Porsche (whichever model) budget to work with, there are other cars i would much prefer to own! I probably wouldnt want a BMW either ( M car), unless my circumstances changed dramatically where i needed something more practical, seating etc I dont think anyone is saying owning a Nissan is their ultimate goal in life, but nor is owning a Porsche. One day i hope to have a Gallardo or maybe a 355 Spider, i wouldnt doubt for one minute you could say either of those are better than a high end 911, but thats what i would have given the choice

I am sure you would all get very bored of small changes over months

You're not the only one, it's an enigma Tidied it up, hopefully makes sense now

So do i

I started one of these members build threads when i first joined but the thread is gone it seems, not that i got any further than the before photo. Well after photos coming soon, will still be some minor things i want to do but the bulk will be done. Why best of both worlds, I am trying to sit somewhere firmly in the middle of being good on the track without too many ill effects on the road. Whilst i realise there are many more things i could do to improve the car on the track it is still a weekend and occasional evening car that i want to enjoy on the road. Hopefully i have found a happy balance with the parts i have chosen. I know this thread is worthless without pictures, but they wont be far away, new boots are landed and on route, quick refurb with a little bodywork tidying and i will be back

The Apex came off today and they look progressive to me, tighter wound coils at the top!

Thought i would revive this after a little appreciation today. Went to pick up the 350 from my mechanics place after having some suspension changes (thanks Keyser) My mechanic mate had just gone for a road test (dont worry i trust him he is a mate) and whilst he was out a woman turned up to pick up her car, as he drove back into the workshop she leapt up from the waiting room and came into the garage asking what it was as its absolutely gorgeous (being a woman she emphasised the word gorgeous as they do), i told her and she said it was stunning, sadly she wasnt

I think your spot on, or the salesman is. I mentioned in another thread, in general most people stick to a particular marque. I had an interesting chat with a couple of mates last night, one has just bought a Ferrari California, his business partner has an SLS for a while. I asked the guy with the SLS if he had had a drive, he had, so i asked do you prefer it to your SLS, he said its a great car but he prefers his SLS, its just more me was his reply. Given the choice of the two i would pick the California every time

This in my experience describes 99.9% of most Porsche drivers, they dont want them because they are very capable cars, they want them for the badge! A mate of mine bought a Cayman S, he sold it in 6 months for some ropey old 911 cab, couldnt tell you which variant. He had zero interest in the fact the Cayman was a better drivers car, he just wanted want he saw as the pinnacle of Porsche ownership, the 911.

Unfortunately this is the whole problem with cat c & d, you can never find out what was damaged, unless your fortunate enough to find the owner who had the car at the time and documented the accident/damage etc and the subsequent repairs. A Vic test does not much more than check the vehicles identity (its not a ringer) and that its roadworthy, it checks nothing to do with the quality of repairs! So imho, unless you can find out exactly why it was written off and the invoices to prove it was repaired properly i wouldnt buy one without that info.

If you get a plastic hawk/owl etc make sure you move it regularly, birds get used to it being in one spot and realise its no threat! You could try tying a couple of old cd, s in the bush, when they spin and reflect the light it spooks the birds, worth a try as its probably free

Another thought i had whilst discussing with a mate, whilst Marquez sat behind Lorenzo there was an air of excitement, could he pass?? I know the logical (perhaps obvious) thought was yes, but i still found myself glued to the screen wondering, when and how, will Lorenzo be able to put up a fight etc? So the great thing about this was, you didnt definitely know it was going to happen and how! So what i am getting at is, we didnt know because they dont have the ship to shore radios like F1 where you pretty much know exactly what each driver and team are doing. Lesson for F1 if you ask me, go back to pit boards!

After my last Rx7 went it was a choice of two, the Rx8 & 350. I wanted to stick with a rotary as its what i knew but always wanted a 350z. I had a 13b lying around that i seriously looked into putting into a Rx8 but the cost put me off and throwing huge sums at a forced induction Renesis with limited results was the nail in the coffin, but i would agree with Lexx, if my driving time was more track than a 50/50 track/road split, i would have had the 8. I seem to remember TG pitching the 8 & 350 together and they were exactly the same time around the TG track.

Apparently thats the talk in the paddock, I think there are too many variables though, mechanical failure, tyre failure, other riders taking him out, rain etc Awesome ride by little Dani again, still have to keep reminding myself he weighs about as much as a packet of peanuts. Lorenzo just has no answer to those 2 at the moment. I know Rossi did ok again, but you got to wonder how long he will hang about getting 4ths or whatever?
-
Another record broken! First rider in 47 years to have 3 pole positions and 3 wins at the start of the season! Very mature ride today and a pretty good race I thought, great track too
-
Yeah you're right it is still big & gay. Not to mention completely contrary to what he needs, grip at the front Looks like some kind of additional extension to the existing spoiler if you ask me!
-
Well i never, still my comment stands
-
That's just the normal Type-R spoiler, but angled up quite a bit I reckon VTEC Yo kicks in he does a wheelie for 0.058 seconds On the white one?
-
You got to love a HUGE big gay roof spoiler on a front wheel drive Civic

I have had interest in the spats so if anyone wants just the bumper, £100 + postage
-
As above in black. In an ideal world the bumper needs spraying as there a few blemishes, nothing hideous though, no cracks, splits, big dents etc The bumper has a very small central reverse camera which i will leave in for the buyer. Nismo spats were painted last year so are in good condiiton. Will split but would want a buyer for each. £150 + postage or collection from Zed Shed area

Or two pm's i have sent, lol

Well I am not too hopefull we shall see a battle up front today, Marquez being pretty much a second a lap faster all weekend, on just a 1.37 lap! Its a consolation he is great to watch but will get boring for the season if this continues, perhaps some late race tyre wear might save the day
-
I think some people need to get out more after reading that thread
-
Need to know widths & offsets to be accurate, being they fit a 350z though means you probably wont be a million miles away
