  1. A little info from watching the MotoGp today, corner apex speed onto the back straight which is less than 1km, 60 - 70mph give or take, at the braking point 210 - 215 mph, pending on bike manufacturer
  2. think i was more shocked that a 6" bit of straight stainless with a vband and std flange was £150
  3. You dont have to be able to afford it or justify the expense to see something is a bargain. I cant afford a Gtr but appreciate its a bargain. Likewise i am working in a flat for a client at the moment, they bought it three years ago for £525k, they spent £150k when we refurbished it originally and its now worth around a million, it was a bargain at £525 and i will never ever ever have that sort of cash, but its still a bargain
  4. You are welcome to keep any bike with anti wheelie, thats the best reason to ride a bike
  5. Fair comment, but not everyone wants to own a Porsche, so a R8 is a still a motoring bargain
  6. No Gtr's when I was riding, but I would agree with your mates, not something I would take on, in the tight and twisties the only other area of concern was decent rally reps ironically. Swings and roundabouts I guess but any half decent straights or sweeping bends and a car would always be playing catch up, certainly not holding them up The accelaration on a bike is brutal, in every gear at any speed, think from memory an R1 when released in 98 ish would reach 0 to top speed (178 give or take) in under a mile
  7. This was the final roll of the dice as you say above, if this hadnt worked, I would have given up.
  8. Going to go with the above after some 6 series chat on here. M6 is a lot of car for very little money. Like the Lambo option but would plumb for a Gallardo. Also dont think you can ignore GTRs if your talking value for money or V8 R8, not that I would want one but a lot of car for the money.
  9. Get your alignment done at a decent place and they will be able to fine tune (within reason) the handling to your liking. Fitting bigger tyres will make little to no difference if your alignmemt is shot in the first place, a 350 handles perfectly well on stock sizes if your alignment is right and using a decent tyre.
  10. I wanted to try something that wasnt an elm327 because of all the reported failures, cant guarantee it will work, but did on mine and you can leave it plugged in, its got a sleep mode.
  11. I bought this, works a treat http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321772510752?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  12. Even if this is the case, it is more the driver then, not the car attracting attention and from my point of view, its pretty difficult to see into cars at night when they are driving past
  13. I will hold my hand up to that one and stand by it, i would agree though, a very fast car could, a 370z is not that though
  14. A mate who was a courier in London persuaded me to get a bike, I did my cbt etc, passed my test and bought a bike, the first ride out he came to mine and said, the only thing you need to know is, Everone wants to kill you Best motoring advise I have received bar none
  15. Come one we all know cars are quicker round corners. Simple maths with the rubber on the road! Feel free to pop over to the IOM and see If you can post a 130 mph average, tracks yes, if you can ride, roads not a chance, but having never riden a bike, you wont know
  16. If your being held up on any road by a bike, your either a driving overlord, or the guy/girl cannot ride a bike for sh*t
  17. Just watched again, the biker does whats known as a "lifesafer" before he changes to the 2nd lane to get out from behind the lorries, not looks at the evo, the two left lanes have arrows pointing straight on, 3rd lane has a turn right arrow, the biker pulls in front of the car in the 2nd lane, ok he queue jumps but still in the correct lane to to go straight on. He obviously isnt racing the evo otherwise he would not be so shocked when it cut in front of him and is quite casual in his accelerating, if he had gunned it, you wouldnt have seen the evo at all
  18. I dont think you need a quiz to why, this is how it will stack up for most people: A) Budget Noise You could perhaps factor in going fi but if your answer to A is sensible then its not a factor
  19. Nothing to say the bike was "in the right" but its just common practice, you obviously done need as much space as a car and usually you will be away and gone, however wrong you may see it in your eyes, the evo driver was the one trying to prove a point, the bike wasnt even giving it any, just using his lack of size to avoid queuing. I certainly wouldnt say the biker was an idiot, he wasnt endangering anyone but himself perhaps, he was just doing what bikes do.
  20. You may have issues with kits developed in the US as they are designed for lhd, mostly issues with fouling the steering column on the right hand side. Sadly there is no cheap solution, best keep a look out for 2nd hand supercharger or turbo kit.
