  1. DE = Weak conrods I would of probably survived with a Baffled Sump (Maybe some more oil, even if I did top up and check before Track)
  2. Your project was complete at the end of show season should of stuck with it another year #teamtarmac
  3. My god this thread still going... #teamtarmac
  4. Okay to be a bit nicer, they can't give you a quote just like that for legal reasons, I.e there is sensitive data they need to know first, that's why you need to call. But there are things like when asked can any of you insure a road legal buggy, and get a response of give us a call, that's when it becomes daft and becomes a big pet hate of mine. #teamtarmac
  5. You won't get much info from them unless you phone up. They're like robots. Inb4 reply 'have you tried calling us? We might be able to help' #teamtarmac
  6. I'm sorry for my fail post which also contributed nothing to this thread I was always under the assumption those lights were triggered by movement? #teamtarmac
  7. I'm a bit late to the party I recognise that girl! Fail I know! But I'm sticking with this post #teamtarmac
  8. Thanks for the info mate. Well yes sikky kit was one I was thinking of buying and I heard about bizz making a kit but didn't know when. Also I am in the fabrication and welding game myself so could save money there. I want to try keep as much OEM as possible. Also I have thought about turbo but the engine isn't built for that kind of power even if you forge it I still feel it cab pop anytime but with the ls2 you know youre safe if you stay NA makes no sense. Any engine can go bang... I'm walking proof. Everyone said 350 engine are bullet proof. At least 10 on this forum have died this year. NA or FI can both go pop. Ash' 500hp forged twin turbo will probably have less chance of going bang than your V8... Don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to look at this from all angles #teamtarmac
  9. Where exactly in my post did I suggest conning? There is a big difference between 'this engine is new' and 'this engine runs like new'. You told him to write some BS about his engine.I my self am in the market for a new engine, - If I went out and bought what I thought and was assured by the seller was a sound engine and was told it had this that and the other. And then blew up in my face I'd be fudged off! When selling something that important, I'd want to know the honest truth, I'd want to know about the knock and leaks it may or may not be producing, so I can address them before fitting what I was told 'a better engine than new' Other wise I then have to take it out and repair. OP - Tell the truth, stick it up for sale for what you want, and expect to get offers of what people this it's value is. Take it or leave it
  10. Yup do that ^^ con someone
  11. I'll have an engine you can have much cheaper than that in about a month I feel like I already know about that one
  12. The simplest way to look at this is, do you have a budget? If not then go for it If your budget is cutting it close, don't even start. My engine died last month, and I instantly thought, time for a V8. Priced it all up, just wasn't worth it. So much easier and cheaper in the states. If I had money, I'd do it without a second thought, but it's a costly project, where you need to budget for the unexpected as well as the expected.
  13. Try starting with a budget of 15k Engine = 5K - ECU/Chip = around 5k, mounts, harnesses etc, another couple grand, Tuning and Fitting will be costly too. Will need to find a specialist to do an engine conversion.
  14. I would really think about this decision, synco's are prone to be a weakness in the Zeds, Not the end of the world, mine played up in 6th, but still works (worked) fine. Gearbox + Labour is expensive to then find out you bought a duff Gear box.
  15. Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Anniversary missed. Missed it by 3 days - Eleanor did not survive a year, almost! If I had tits would I of got more welcomes ?
  16. Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooh..........he has comma in there
  17. If it helps, I'm in the market for an engine, and the price I've been offered are £1500 for an engine with 40/50k - Which imo is over priced
  18. As much as I appreciate your right up, info is a pain with no before figures. I.e I was running 258 before mods/map which was pretty low, I then made 283 after map. Then other members make 290/300 with same mods. We'll never know what gains you got from headers as you may get gains like me, then with headers = 300. I'm in the same boat though as my info will be irrelevant too as I will have a new engine when I do this. #teamtarmac
