Okay, so I feel sad not being able to update this
But just for those that don't know what happened, and that don't know whats coming ....
So at the start of September, I went to Trax with some awesome people! Surrounded by awesome cars (Except the stupid KA opposite us)
So then came my 1st track session of the day, was enjoyable but not amazing this year...Wasn't the full circuit, too many cars on the track who looked to be there first time ever...along with Drifters going out just before us, which left lots of crap all over the track.
Video of my first session ^^ Probably the best lap is the last at around 5:30-6mins.
So anyway, all is going well until my 2nd session (Still waiting that video from Matt!)
Plain and simple, after about 3/4 laps the engine blew up. Now we haven't inspected yet, but the only reason I can see this happening is Oil Starvation - Cornering too hard and oil just sloshed to one side of the car.
Although it shouldn't of due to me doing all my usual checks the day before (Checking levels, topping up fluids etc)
But she was well and truly knackered.
This is where she got dumped off the track
Funnily enough, she got so much attention sat there
Then came the Tow truck, scariest thing of my life
And then another Tow Truck
But I got her home in the end.
So what am I going to do next?
Well I weighed up all my options, initial thought - V8 Time, but after looking into it, it's just too damn expensive. Too many people seem to think you can just dump a V8 into the car and it's good to go any thing but that simple!
I then looked at Forging a doner engine, still that going to set me back about £7/8k and that's not even with a FI.
Soooo the plan is to get another DE engine and add a few bits..

Stillen Headers (this brand may change, still researching)
Item Number 2 -
Stage 2 Comp Clutch
Item Number 3 -
Lightened Flywheel
Figured while the engine is out, may as well upgrade the awkward bits
Aim to have this back on the road ready for next season. So before March 2015.
