Formula 1 teams considering lifting ban on active suspension Formula 1 teams are considering lifting the ban on active suspension as part of a move to control costs. With F1's Strategy Group having decided against a cost cap it is instead looking at alternative ways to keep spending under control. And one of the proposals being evaluated is to allow active suspension back in F1 for the first time since 1993. The belief is that the electronic technology would actually be more cost effective for teams in terms of achieving the optimum car set-up than the current complicated mechanical-only systems. The move is being considered for 2017, and could come in at the same time as a switch to 18-inch tyre rims. We understands that a number of other short and long-term proposals are being evaluated by the F1 Strategy Group for implementation over the next few years. They include efforts to simplify parts of the car where there is currently vast expense, including in the fuel system, crash structures, the front wing design, inter-connected front and rear suspension, and brake ducts. There could also be tweaks to the GP weekend curfew hours and further reductions on staff numbers allowed at races.

Nobody is claiming it is better than any of those cars listed. Nor do we question the value. In my opinion I just don't need to be reminded how the z doesn't stack up to these cars on a regular basis... I never said it did in the first place. Just tired of hearing the negative on a z enthusiast forum! same here, I have never said the zed is better than anything, yes those cars are in the same price bracket and the c4s will out handle my 370, speed wise they are very similar to me but the zed is a much nicer place to be and they dont come with the "porsche paranoia" ims, rms, etc I am well versed in most cars capabilities and I am aware of the compromises that have been made in the production of the zed, it was built to a smaller budget ! I was on the porsche forum for 4 yrs and I never heard anyone being negative about the marque Poor old Marmite got a rough time on here when I first joined all they did was take the pi55 out of her gold wheels..!!!
