Here's a video from my Youtube channel. It shows an overview of the car and what I plan to do with it. Took me about 15 hours to make so please let me know your thoughts!
Hi all!
I just bought myself a 2004 Z. It's done about 74,000 miles. My plan is to use it everyday but make it focused for the monthly track day. There's a number of things to fix though! First the emergency stuff:
Rusted W brace
Cracked and worn drive belts
Clutch pedal feels weird and is hard to find bite point
Gear knob is hard to get into 5th and 6th
Just though I'd share a very low cost mod I did. I wanted a way to mount my iPhone, have it charge and output audio to the stock Bose unit.
Well I followed the Bose hack guide and soldered the two RCA phone jacks to the tape output.
Then took out the factory sat nav to find a very convenient silver mounting bracket.
I bought a £2 iphone holder from Amazon and cable tied it to this bracket.
Also bought the iPhone video kit cable from Amazon and a usb cig lighter adaptor (1 amp will charge faster than a 0.5 amp). Connected the audio connectors to the bose and the usb lead to the cig lighter adaptor. I ran the usb lead round the back of the dashboard to the passenger cig lighter.
Without the Sat nav and controls there is space for an iPad mini. May look for a cheap one and fit it.
Hullavington is prbably one of the best airfiled tracks going at the moment. It's run very efficiently by Motorsport Events. Never any problems with too many cars on the track.
