  1. Whilst the car was in pieces I decided to replace all the bushings with polyurethane ones. This includes all the front and rear suspension arms, differential and subframe. The subframe ones were a partcualr challenge as some of you may already know! Anyway, full video of how I did it below:
  2. The next job to tackle was the rusty brackets, nuts and bolts. Watched the Binky video and saw them zinc plate theirs so thought I'd give it a go. The results weren't too bad! As always full video of how I did it below.
  3. So in this video I set about tackling the 16 years of rust on the chassis and parts.
  4. @ZMANALEX Please may I ask for your expert option please? I had the common problem of the compression arm bushing getting stuck to the chassis post. I got it off eventaully but I think I may have cut too deep with the angle grinder as I've cut into the chassis post a fair bit. I'd say I've gone through at least a quater, if not a third, of the way. Would you mind having a look at the photo and letting me know if it's fine or if i need to get it repaired and welded up? Massive thanks. Neil.
  5. @msitpro Thanks for the links to the pics but they don't appear to work for me?
  6. I've started a four part series on how to treat the rust on a 350Z. Part one deals with stripping the underside down....
  7. As it's lockdown and the weather is awful it was time to tackle the rust on the Z. So i've spent the last three weeks stripping everything off the car - suspension, sub frame, exhaust - to get good access to start the renovation. Full video, as usual, below:
  8. @cs2000 You're welcome. Yes, feel free to embed the video.
  9. As you may know, whilst you can turn traction control off there is no button for turning stablity control off (VDC). Not usually an issue but if you track your Z like I do then it can sometimes do some quite frankly dangerous things i.e grab the brakes on a high speed corner. Whilst there are a few hacks to disable VDC having a dedicate button to turn it on and off would be ideal. Well, CS2000 on this forum makes a kit and I wired it in. Works a treat. Here's a step by step guide on how I did it.

  11. So just an update to complete this thread. Turns out the place I took the car to do the alignment did an awful job. The alignment was actaully even worse than the printout - front wheels were facing different directions and the rears had far too much toe in (40 minutes!) I took it to TIYG and did the alignment myself and the problems I had are gone. It even handles better! Fuel economy has shot up from about 26 mpg on the motorway to 30 mpg. For those intersted I took Nissans middle settings for toe and did 4 minutes of toe in on all 4 wheels. Front camber is currently negative 1.75 degrees front (it's not adjustable) and I left the rear camber at negative 2.5 degrees as the bolts were seized! May buy front camber arms to get the front camber to 2.5 degrees and may tackle the bolts to bring the rear camber in in bit.
  12. @Bam Thanks for saying so mate. The songs are written by me solely as background music for the videos.
  13. @davey_83 Thanks mate. Not too sure what performance mod next, possibly a new exhaust or poly bush. Gonna try and tackle the surface rust under the car before it gets any worse next though I think, that's a good winter job.
  14. Thanks @da.murf Would have loved to have given the plenum a thorough polish but just didn't have time. I will at some stage.
  15. Obviously many guides on how to do this but here's my step by step video tutorial on how to fit a plenum spacer to your 350Z.
  16. I'm back! After a break to have a child and build a garage this is my next 350Z video. I fit a plenum spacer. Obviously a common mod but hopefully you'll like the way I've shot the video.
  17. I used a company called Shipito to buy stuff from the US.
  18. @msitpro Thanks mate. Was aware of Z1 but not ConceptZ, will check them out.
  19. Evening all, I may have the opportunity to get some 350Z parts from the USA. Most aftermarket parts for the Z can be bought over here and they are not any cheaper from the USA so I was wondering if there's any parts worth getting that can ONLY be bought in the USA? Thanks, Neil
