  1. If the trader guys sale falls through I will have them....
  2. I have not noticed any excess noise from it, but I do have the invidia duel fitted with the berks hfc's..... The gear shift does not move as much as it did, in fact hardly at all. In the lower range with higher revs it is a lot more powerful feeling ( if that makes sense ) as the whole car vibration is of a deeper growl than what it was. The cruise speed from 4th to 6th both in the lower and more spirited rev range is definitely a lot quieter . Have not felt any harshness, but there is nowhere near as much g/ box to engine movement between gear changes as there is as standard...... No more bunny hopping down the road for me ...... It also depends on the pin and the dorometer of the poly as well...... The 60a is closest to standard but a bit stiffer... Where the 90a is close to race spec..... If the pin don't fit snugly with no movement....this will increase vibration.... As for the cad/ cam thing..... Those statements are well above my pay grade and knowledge base, so I will accept that both of you are correct in your statements...... Or wrong, as whatever case may be.....
  3. I got the Avid Racing Mount 6061 T-6 Billet Aluminum CAD/CAM Design 60a, 70a or 90a Durometer Polyurethane Bushings Proper Engine Placement and Axle Alignment Installation Instructions and Complete Hardware Kit Limited Lifetime Warranty I got the 70a Durometer........
  4. Yes...it is that crossmember and mount..... Make sure you check you get the right size diameter bolt with the new mount if you do it as the standard bolt may differ, as it did with mine.... 4 bolts for the crossmember...easy access.... 1 bolt which goes through cross member and mount....crossmember has threaded retainer on opposing side... 2 bolts holding mount onto gearbox..... Use trolley jack to support gearbox in place before removing anything.... Undo the 4 crossmember bolts.... Leave 1 in each side a few threads for support You can access the 2 mount bolts through the crossmember.... Undo them completely....they may drop onto crossmember but can easily be retrieved when its off Take out the 2 crossmember bolts and both will come away.... Take out bolt going through the crossmember and mount The crossmember has a locator for the standard mount inside it, but it comes out with a bit gusto... Depending on the mount, you may have to grind off that crossmember metal locator Then just reverse fitting....although I did find it easier to bolt the new mount onto the gearbox first, then push crossmember on ( little grease helps) Put in connecting bolt so it catches a few threads.. Then fit the 4 crossmember bolts... I had to go around the 4 bolts evenly a few turns at a time so went up evenly and never damaged the poly bush as it tightened up as they are a very close fit. Then just tighten the main mount bolt..... I did all in the last post, and although did feel better....... Absolutely nothing like this...... Takes about an hour if you have all the tools to hand.....
  5. The Texa logger is really good, giving everything from coolant temp to engine output to throttle position and airflow....etc etc... On a continuous graph with distance and time logging...... Well worth the £90 ....... Can even be set to reset faults.... Have now found out that speedo over reads by 10 mph at a certain speed.....
  6. The guy works in a garage and has loads of different sizes and makes.... It was pot luck I read a scot ads that day.....
  7. Thanks guys, will give it a blast..... Only problem being that if I like it without the spare in, this leaves a lot of space to play with and put toys into....
  8. I have been looking at all these units, and although good, none of them have everything I want from being to big and obtrusive, to lack of recordable quality and suitability for multi purpose..... So I am just setting up my own front and rear cams with 2 channel simultaneous recording and GPS route mapping. It also has a 3d g sensor which is adjustable for situation and will automatically keep all info recorded on a seperate file, which is good for if you get shunted. It can also be set up as a motion sensor with a range of upto 20metres within the viewing angle. I am hoping i can modify unit to accept a mobile dongle so that info can be automatically uploaded to Internet relaying the GPS mapping...( this would be good if car gets nicked for tracking it ) Since I am going on the track I don't want anything stuck in the cockpit that will not get past the stewards. Putting in uprated 700tvl cameras instead of 400 with IR and night vision. These will be h.264 compatible with upto 50fps recording using class 10 95mb/s sd Card. Will mount the cameras in front grille and rear number plate recess... The Dvr module is small enough to be fitted in cubby hole or with a modification to the ashtray, this also has a view screen on it, with remote control. It does not have an internal battery to worry about over heating ...... I can choose to wire it up so it starts on start up, or through a timer or the remote The cameras are suitable for -30 - +70 with ip67 rating and a 170 degree wide angle view.... The DVR module can be removed and transferred between vehicles if you want, you just need to fit cameras to the other vehicle... Complete unit cost will be about £320 not including time put into fitting...,, Hopefully update with vid files and pics when I get it up and running Probably a bit over the top....but what the hell.......
  9. I have noticed that all the set up procedures for the suspension etc are to include full tank of fuel and the spare wheel. Looking to put the car on the track and was wondering what the effects on the Z would be with regards to balance and weight ratio without the weight of the spare wheel... Is it worth leaving it in, or removing and getting car set up without it...? Anybody out there have experience of racing theirs....
  10. Moly slip did make a difference when I did mine, but there was still that little niggle into second after a week or so of running.... by far the biggest and best improvement has been changing the transmission mount......every gear nice and smooth, and no jerky changes anymore... found myself initially half wincing expecting the usual 1st to second jerk, but absolutely nothing now.....really easy job to do as well.....
  11. Hi Guys, I have some no longer needed stock parts. Front struts...... Rear Struts...... Rear Springs.... Front Upper Arms.... Rear Arms..... Sway Bars..... Upper Rubber Spring Mounts The Front arms will need new ball joints with cones as I used the cones for my new ball joints and arms. These came off a UK 55 plate with 65k on the clock...... The usual signs of paint flaking can be seen with the usual signs of rust...but there are is no damage on any of it... Haven't got a clue what to ask for , but reasonable offers accepted. Not looking to make a fortune, but if someone needs and benefits...all the better. Will ask for £250 complete to comply with forum rules..... I might be travelling down Norwich way in a week or so, so could arrange something there .
  12. Wow.... Just picked up a pair of matched RE050a potenza's for £60...... 6/7 mm tread left ...like new.....woohoo.....
  13. My missus got me a full days RideDrive for the car. Has anyone been on this, and what did they think of it? It sounds really good and have it booked for the end of July. Have noticed that Adrian Flux are offering an insurance discount for forum members. My wife paid extra for the ride drive for a driving assesment which gives a 15% discount from Adrian Flux.....Can the two discounts be added together???? Just wondering because if it isnt , its pointless paying for the driving assesment if you already get a discount for being a forum member.....
  14. Hopefully get it at the house by Friday so i can have a few days running it in the other car to try and find out why the emmisions workshop light keeps coming on intermitantly..........
  15. Ok..... So no heads up from anyone yet..... Decided to go ahead and get Texa OBD Log http://www.texa.com/prodotti_dett.asp?sez=dett&id=22 will update with some print outs once i use it......
  16. Hi Guys Does anybody have any experience with using a data logger. Looking to get one that just plugs in and it monitors the car for a while. Have found a couple, but cant seem to find any reviews from UK based users. The first is the Car chip pro...... but this seems to have mixed reviews from the states, as well as a grey area on which vehicles it will or wont work on... The other is http://www.amazon.co.uk/Launch-CRecorder-OBD-DATALOGGER-RECORDER/dp/B008X5CC96/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1369646613&sr=1-1&keywords=crecorder This one needs you to get on their website , register and download their software for the pc, i cant get onto their website for some reason, but it may be down to being on an offshore internet connection with restrictions. The others are all from China.... Are their any recommended ones that anybody else has had???
  17. Hi Chris, Have worked with quite a lot of these as well.... They are all mostly the same, it's just the ease of use that's the difference. I recently did a course on Maximo, which is pretty much like SAP, but I found easier. You can also get the package tailored to your own requirements...... I am sure SAP can do this as well..... Although these program's are complete maintenance packages, you may only need the likes of SAGE..... The difficulty is getting access to all these to find the easiest for yourself to use......
  18. Started 09.00 after dropping kids to school on Friday, went to bed at 4 am Saturday morning..... Started again at 10.30 Saturday...... Finished 21.30 Saturday night.... Up at 7am... Went clay shooting with old man, met wife and kids at game fair , did a couple of odds and sods between 7pm till 10pm on Sunday night....... Laser alignment at 13.00 today...... Hence wife not too happy...lol If anybody up my way thinking of doing it and needs a hand....just give me a shout......
  19. I take it as being normal then.... Just not noticed it before......
  20. Meant to add it on on the last post... But forgot.... Passenger side , level with cat, near sill by support there are 2 holes in the chassis , one hole has a rubber tube inside, which has started to leak a lot of fluid out..... I mean a lot, it gives a trail when driving slowly enough and pools quickly when stopped... Coolant level is ok, and it feels like water and has no smell...... Any ideas .....anyone...
  21. Ok.... So I bought a load of stuff from Zman and Tarmac a while ago , and have just managed to get it all done in one big weekend push...... Sway bars Droplinks Coilovers Rear struts Rear camber arms Lower inner poly bushes Front top camber castor arms Front hub shims Caliper spacers Avid transmission mount All completed with a 4 wheel laser alignment this afternoon..... What a difference in the car now, I thought initially I had broken traction control, due to expecting to see it as normal but nothing happening........ I really have to try very hard for it to kick in now.....this thing sticks to the road like sh*t to a blanket......WOW WOW AND EVEN MORE WOWWWWW..... so have just ordered my super sports.... Fully fitted for 900 smackers.... 2x 245/35/19 and 2x 275/35/19 which I think is a good price.... Local place as well....2 week lead time from michelin in France for the 275's though....... So now I have a new list.... Vibra technics eng mounts New front hubs( passenger side showing signs of the orange stuff on the inside by the abs sensor) Discs all round Big brake kit ??? Fuel press regulator Ally radiator Ally oil cooler Light weight pulley set ??? Osiris remap..... Mid chassis brace At least the harder jobs have been done now.... Yes , I know..... This post is useless without pics.... But I am not a happy snapper.... Been hard enough doing all the stuff by myself in a cramped 1970's garage with two ramps, 2 jack stands, 1 trolley jack and a not very happy wife...... At least I never locked myself out this time........
  22. I do have 2 practically brand new Wanli 245/45/18 tyres in the garage you could have..... I thought they were crap , but for a couple of days they may well do you. They have only done about 1000 miles..... Yours if you need them.......
  23. You could pick them up and use them when you need them, wouldn't need them back till about the 15/16 th April. They are my standard rims for my winter tyres and are probably needing what you are getting done to yours. Would be more concerned about the excessive tyre usage since they are almost brand spankers.......If your driving it like you stole it .....lol Offers there for you if you need them....
  24. Just a quick update..... Through my searching I have found that a lot of the Z emblem badges are out of stock due to them being a craze over in CA. However, there are a few left in the z store. I have managed to get in touch with a guy over there who makes custom Z badges from Aluminium..... I am waiting for him to send me over some designs /pics and costs. As soon as he does I will post them up to see if there's any interest. Maybe even be able to get these anodised your colour preference by WASSO.... Just like our plenums.
  25. Hi Kev, When you getting them done? Don't have a spare set, but I am going on holiday next Wednesday for a couple of weeks , so could lend you my set on Tuesday and leave mine up on jacks till I get back, if that helps you out....
