  1. I have found a load of badges on a site called the Z STORE..... Any of these take anybody's fancy, or does anybody know of anywhere else to get them from.
  2. Will look into bringing a load back...... Will post up when I get back with what I have. Not looking at making any cash off them.... Just cost and postage will be fine.
  3. OK..... How many do you think i can get back under the guise of personal use...... 6 of us travelling, so 6 cases....could be 6 sets minimum.... i suppose my 8 and 10 year old could be z fanatics and want them for their school bags.... Anybody had any experience of getting stuff back from US...... If There are a few people interested i could look into it.........

    Fuel

Just last month i ran short with no shell in the area, so topped up with ultimate........actually thought the car ran a bit smoother with it than the normal v-power. But since i have no BP/Tesco or Sainsbury's super near home, will stick to the v-power..... Would LIked to have done a few tanks on the BP as a comparison though....
  5. No point in the Motordyne stuff as i have the invidia duel exhaust with berks.......Everybody should get Wasso's plenum spacer as its the muts nuts and looks @*!# hot..... Already got a nice set of rims..... ThInking about gadgets.... maybe an incar camera system or headunit upgrade or something.....
  6. OK PEOPLE, I am heading off to Florida in a wee while and have the chance to bring back some goody's. I reckon if i use up the kids allowance i can take back about 1400 quids worth of stuff for the car, split into 4 bags keeping within the 20kg allowance each. I thInk Its 350 quid per person as well so the items will have to be within that value. Any idea's.........
  7. HI guys, Just about to buy some rubber for the summer wheels. Looking at putting on: 245/35/19 285/35/19 This gave the closest tolerance to the stock sizes on a tyre calculator. Was wondering if anybody had this setup on, and whether they liked it or would try something else, whether it be for the handling or whatever. Going to get the pilot super sports onto my 8.5 and 9.5 rims and dont want them to look stretched.
  8. I could understand if they were on to another call.... but i was on the inside lane , no junction in sight, and if it was another call, they never went past me at any time.
  9. Well, there i was heading out for my first long distance run in the car, Banff to Yorkshire, a cheeky little 470 mile drive. Decided to leave about 9pm and enjoy the clear open roads. The nights stops all planned with the vpower garages on route....All the tunes ready.... Just got south of Glasgow, trundling away on cruise control with 73 on the digi clock, and 72 on the sat nav...... Eased out to pass a couple of lorry's and noticed one of those well lit police car bays at the side of the road being occupied by a marked police estate car, lights on ....... Thought nothing of it as i passed the lorry,s, but had one of those sneaking suspicions, and as i started to move back into the inside lane i noticed him pull out....... Anyway, this mad ****er came flying up the back of me with headlights on full beam, blinding the hell out of me, all mirrors ablaze, and shadow of the car being projected about 30 yards down the road in front of me....He was so close i was tempted to offer him a sweety.....The thought of whether to hit the brakes or give him the finger crossede my mind, but instead flipped the mirror a couple of times so maybe he would get the message about blinding me.... He held there for about a mile.... with his lights on full beam....before easing back to about 1/2 mile and just tailed me for another 3 miles.... I wish i had a rear camera to have recorded it ...... Dont know whether he was trying to get me to put the foot down or what, but he certainly made me lose concentration on the road ahead........ Has it really come down to these arseholes going out of there way to try and cause accidents now because they are bored. I didnt think they were allowed to put the foot down like that without the blues on..... Cause he must have hit a ton plus to catch up with me the way he did..... Apart from that and my sat nav taking me cross country, the car ran like a dream, averaging 32.7 mpg over the distance....... well happy with that.....
  10. Just starting to wonder whether the Numpty award is for doing it.... Or admitting to doing it.....lol Must admit , it takes a special kind of fool to get this status so quickly.......
  11. Now that I am all thawed out I can have a good laugh..... But many a cursed word was spoken at the time... The mod works perfectly, well worth the hassle.... Will honestly say as well...... Disconnecting the battery is definitely the way to go when resetting the ecu light... I tried the bloody peddle dance about 20 times.... Could I get the damn thing to start blinking and reset.... Yes I had a stopwatch..... Cleaned the throttle and maf sensor as well whilst all the good stuff was off, surprisingly clean.... Well that's my bits done for now.... Back to the drawing board for the rest....
  12. There I was reading through all the instructions for fitting the new wing mirror foldy in mod from Flyboy, planning it with the wife and kids in mind.... Door card off....... Easy Wiring loom layout and familiarisation .......Easy Disconnecting of the battery.......Easy Connecting in the wires.......Easy But then........ Whilst doing the mod it was really windy, so closed the bonnet to stop it wobbling around.... Just about to do the last bit , connecting in the wire behind the speaker, when the good wife called me in for tea.... No problem.... I thought........lol Door closed .... In for tea.... But as it turned out ,by the time tea was over and the kids wanted to play on the wii, I decided to leave the last little bit till this morning..... Bright and breezy but bloody snowy and cold out I went to....... Ah...... With the battery disconnected and the hood down...... The door card removed..... How do you open the door.......???? Well you have to jack the car up....... Remove the wonderful aluminium under tray...... Reach up and try to pull the bonnet catch , whilst becoming a snowman...... Bonnet open, tray back on , return car to the ground and finish that so called 20 minute job you told the wife it would be 2 hours before...... At least it gave me a chance to check for any oil, and general condition under there....
  13. Got mine today..... Thanks Attempting the fit tomorrow..... Hopefully..... If I can escape the misses and kids for a bit...
  14. I was just having a weekend away, I'm from Banff way.... Don't trust any of the Robbin buggers round my way..... Have not got a clue about Dundee way.... Soz
  15. Yes, will attempt the fit myself. Gonna spray all the bolts with some plusgas before i go away ( not enough time now)....3 weeks should be enough to soak in.... Going to get some new rubbers as well.....Give me something to look for when i'm away. Just trying to plan all the coilovers, droplinks, arms and sway bars, when best to fit them as well......Want to get the exhaust done quick to find out what it sounds like.....oh and then there is the plenum spacer from Wasso to get in as well.....
  16. I will take one as well please... Let me know payment details.... Thanks
  17. Yeah shopping was good... Lol.... Coffee and cake was a lot better..... I was heading out the Arbroath road about 16.30...... Just waiting for kids To go back to school tomorrow before putting my new invidia on....... Have that much stuff in the garage with so little time to do it..... Was expecting the car to be well tucked up in bed this time of year with the weather, but its still too good not be out in her... Did you get the exhaust yesterday, was it a standard you were getting ?
  18. Hi to the fellow z owner I passed in Broughty Ferry this afternoon... Just caught your flash as you went past.... Late acknowledgement due to looking for parking space with anxious wife with the spending bug....
  19. Hi guy's, Have noticed recently that when in 1st gear the car is glitchy when pulling away... Hot and cold. Every other gear is fine..... No matter how slow a push on the gas peddle, it seems to reach about 5/10 mph and starts to judder like fuel starvation......... I either have to gun it for a smooth take off , keep using clutch and to hell with the smell and cost or hit second..... (Not good in rush hour traffic) Have also noticed the rev counter being a bit bouncy as well when I push the peddle.... Initial start from cold has me running at about 1400 rpm.... When to temp settles to 900.... Will any of the resets help or does anyone have any idea's. Apart from that she is fine...... Just using second all the time just now..... Then I forget and it's probably like watching a learner bouncing along the road......
  20. I don't mind waiting for mine either. Could be away to Brazil for a while come January, and I have a lot of other stuff to get fitted as well. So if it helps others who have remaps booked etc, just put mine on the back burner till your all sorted out.
  21. The bank account is having a breather after Zman and Tarmac ambushed me over the last few months......The rubber balance is slowly being accrued....
  22. Just thought i would post a quick couple of pics of my set of 19's for the fairer weather... I absolutely love the look of these with the chrome and the gm centre...Not to every bodys taste i know...... http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/mynew19s2.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/mynew19s.jpg
  23. Hi guy's, Was a bit hacked off after using my eager buy it now finger for such a bargain to find that these so called car specific parts meant you had to butcher your under hood trim and covers....What a con.....and is that why they were such a so called bargain....Hmmmmm Anyway, decided to have a go at fitting them without the butchery and managed to get it done with a slight mod to the dampers and a wee nick of plastic where the wing fixing bolt is. As you know if you have tried to fit they are just too long as standard to go onto the wing fixing bolt, and compressing them in to fit pushes the bonnet too high and will knacker the hinge . I attached the ball fixings to both the bonnet and the wing bolt after removing the plastic, attached the damper onto the bonnet and moved the bonnet into a position which was not too high or likely to flex the hinge and measured how much shorter i needed the damper shaft to be.....I went for 25-30 mm. Get yourself a HSS M8 X 1.25 Die and thread the shaft an extra 28 mm using a bit of cut paste or copper slip.... http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/02E7C670-BE60-4871-94F2-3C73F20C97A6-3858-0000094AE5059502.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/488DC76B-4DB9-443C-BD7E-BD333ADB654C-3858-0000094ADE6105B3.jpg A vice with some rubber pads to hold it in position and a set of arced vice grips ( put a bit of elec insul tape on the shaft where the grips will be ) will be enough to hold while you cut the thread....be sure to only cut 1/2 to 1 full turn at a time before turning back a half turn to clear the die of the swarf created, otherwise it can go a bit pear shaped. Once you have the ammount you want threaded, run the die up and down a few times to smooth it out. Then leave the die fully down as if you are going to thread a bit more...take off the turning handle and use the flat edge of the die to cut off the excess.....( the die is the perfect thickness with seven threads for the end piece to screw onto.... Once you have cut the end off, a quick file to take off the shards and remove the die which will clear the thread for you nicely. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/CF498E80-6FCC-4DA0-873A-E991178CD923-3858-0000094AD74071FE.jpg The end going onto the shaft just threaded will be a bit tight, but it does go on nicely. The plastic trim by the wing bolt then just needs a wee bit cut out for it to fit around the ball fixing, but the trim is recessed there anyway so cant be missed. http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/237B3A6A-D1F5-4D45-ADD6-1F28DDA448A9-3858-0000094AB662F1ED.jpg And thats it fitted, no problems with the closing and no butchering of the inner bits.... http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/239E71FB-94A0-4029-848E-ECEDB8A86E92-3858-0000094AAA5612A3.jpg http://i1298.photobucket.com/albums/ag41/pitlanewanderer/65A51B59-BEE9-44B4-9D1D-3E1F3A495E6E-3858-0000094AC87F5069.jpg Hope that helps someone before they butcher the plastic....
