  1. Well, That's me had the car a wee while now, and have used the info on here to give her a good clean down using the Maguires stuff.... Took 5 hours to do , clay barring included... I was sceptical and worried of damaging the paintwork but after a couple of YouTube vids decided to go for it...... What a difference it makes to the bodywork looks wise and just to the touch.... And I am by no means an expert...... As well as that I decided to buy all the stuff needed to carry out a full service myself..... Have so far done the basic oil / filter and sump plug change out with a new magnetic one Changed out the gearbox oil and added the moly slip..... Next time I will get a longer tube so I don't need to shuffle under, find the hole and shuffle out for a refill .... Only had the jacks to work under on the lower level as my trolley jack was digging into the Tarmac drive and wanting to up end if I wanted to go higher..... That was after I realised my jack was too high to slide under straight away at the front.... Oh the joy's...... Flushed out the coolant Changed the belts Changed out the brake lines with some new braided HEL ones and new fluid Changed the plugs Just got the PAS and the Diff to do now...... And the coil overs as well.......and...... Oh yes, flushed out the air con system ..... Which, you have to watch out for... I noticed that when you activate the tin and leave it on the floor well, its prays out and it soaks the window above it as we'll as the plastic on the passengers side and some of the centre console..... Be quick to wipe it off as it marks the plastic if left... I never spotted a drop on the ashtray lid after I wiped the rest down.... The next day that spot was mat compared to the rest around it...... It feels good knowing that all the right stuff is the car , as well of knowing I did it myself... Thanks to the Zman for helping me out with all the bits needed.... My bank balance is certainly not as healthy as what the car now is.....
  2. Ok..... So a full set of falken 452's to get me through the winter on my standard rims..... And a full set of pilots for the 19's for the better time of year....... Anybody want to buy a newish pair of superb sexy Wanli's......
  3. Hi Neil, Yes i understand about the tyre pressures, started off with 35 cold on the back, didnt want to go harder than that.......Just started playing around to try and find a hopeful medium... Anyway, Have got a set of 19's which i am looking at getting some pilots on........ As the winter is fast approaching and by the time i get back from offshore agin, will be well and truly here, will just get a set og 40's on the back end to do the winter.....
  4. Hi, I know where you are at as i have just done the same.....and WOW... you are going to love it..... Just about to get some pics up myself...... The smile is still a mile wide on my face....Enjoy
  5. It's the RE040's on the front........Had her out for another spin this morning for a few hours, thought i would give them a good run and get some heat in them as its dry with a bit of sun just now....... They were ok on the windy bits sub 60..... as soon as you want to do a bit more, twitchy as f**k......Tried running them at 29psi which certainly helped at the lower speed, but still the same when the fun pedal is used a bit more....... I have now put 800 plus miles on them myself and they were on the car for at least 2 months before i got onto them..... Think i will just go get some 40's on the back to match the fronts as the fronts are like new...... Thanks for the feedback guys
  6. Hi guys After waiting what seemed to be a lifetime to get back from offshore to pick up my new lover, I eventually got behind the wheel to have a good blast around. This car is absolutely amazing and just don't want to stop driving her..... Any excuse to get out and go for a spin now, a quick 10 minute pick up from the shop is an easy 30/40 minute excuse for a ride around. Now that I have had a good few days to get used to her I have started to notice a few things with the handling which I think may be tyre related. When I got her the owner said they had put two new tyres on the back end, and from going through the history and receipts automatically thought they matched the front bridgestones... Stupidly not checking.... I was so amazed at the good condition of the car elsewhere that I just ASSUMED....... It turns out the rear end now has WANLI 1063-S tyres....... I was surprised at how twitchy the back end has been at relatively low speed with traction kicking in quite regular.... I expected it for a while till I got used to the car, but this is not right.... It also feels at higher speed that the back end is floating and dancing around..... In a straight line with no side wind.... And I am talking sub 100 here..... My Alhambra feels better .... I have started playing with the tyre pressures, started at 31 on the bridgestones which is working superb , front end grip is amazing..... On the rear I started with 35, am now down to 31 and very little difference.....Although it is fun with these tyres, there is no real feel with them, and it seems hit or miss on the the traction.... A lot of people will be putting it down to amateur driving which I don't deny, but I have raced karts in the past and have some minimal knowledge of rear wheel..... Anybody had these tyres before, should I give them a while longer, sorely tempted to get rid and match the front.. Any thoughts appreciated....
  7. Hi Guy's, Is there any update on these, have just picked up on the thread and they look ACE...... If you are still taking names wasso, put me down for a darker red one please....
  8. If you dont sell them to sarah...give me a shout... i will take them....
  9. What you suggested is pretty much what i am looking to do. Happy with the power as it is, but as you say a nice stainless exhaust and induction kit to make her sound great is the plan. Just looking as to whether to go for a back box or a true twin system. Probably go for the coilovers before hand........ Was it the mono pro's or the dual tech HSD's you have... Have heard from a few people that they are well worth it. Initially looked at the michelins, but costs are very hefty up by me, was hoping ats was having a buy 3 get 1 free deal going on...but no. Will probably take your advice and take the motor down to infinity and get a good service done on it, probably buy the extra stuff like plugs and that and just get a deal for them to do it all in one sitting..... Very much appreciate the info you have given me..... working offshore and the pc's are filtered and restricted that much i can't use most of the links from the threads, or search a lot of sites till i get back...
  10. Thanks, looking at getting all the fluids and plugs changed.... just debateing falken 452's or vreidestein ultrac sessanta or avon zz3.... there seems to be so may wide and varied reviews of everything its hard to make a choice...as much as i dont just want to make it on how good the tread pattern looks...
  11. Thanks for the help Leeroy, There is nothing i would like more at this time than to be sat at home with the car and the service book pondering my next move... Alas, I am stuck out in the middle of the north sea with a pc running ie6 with loads of filters and restrictions which means that most of the pics, links and files will not open or be viewed..... and with roughly a 10 minute scope to search each time...makes it a bit difficult... With that in mind i only thought i would ask on here as waiting for the next 2 and a bit weeks to get back to normality to find these out was chewing me out.... but thankfully all is well.... After your reply i posted on the us site and and have since received loads of info back...But...thanks for your help anyway....
  12. Hi everyone, Having just got my new Z, but unable to indulge in her at the minute due to working away, this has given me ample time to randomly search and read numerous threads on upgrades and mods reccomended on here. I have literally spent 10k already from rays to pop chargers, coilovers ,bodykits......oooooh...the list just goes on and on....BUT..... Having at last managed to get my hands on my dream ( affordable) car , i want to make sure she is well looked after and able to give me many years of pure indulgence.... Not looking to max out the hp..... more interested in handling and wow factor(for me anyway) Therefore i humbly ask for your expertise and advice.... Its a 55 plate 06 (feb) registered UK GT Model....75k....No mods.....Full service...last 2 years been local garage....Nissan prior to that. What would you guys reccomend i get done..... would it be worth getting her straight in for a major service...changing gearbox/diff oil...plugs...coolant etc etc. What oil/grease would you reccomend...what parts would be best I am looking at getting a pop charger straight away....maybe then stainless exhaust..... a nice set of rays which are seriously pulling at my buy it now finger every time i check them out... Any advice would be appreciated.... How addictive does this 350z modding get..... Got to go....just seen some nice shiny brake pipes....
  13. Hi Everyone and thanks for all the welcomes... I would love to post up some pics....but most of all i would like to be spending some time becoming one with my new ray of sunshine.... But i am working away, and won't get my first decent run in her for 3 loooooooooong weeks now. As soon as i get back and get over the excitement i will post some pics. Busy spending my time looking for some new wheels at the minute as the standard ones don't really do much for the beast.... Attack Z.... that is a fine set you have there.... I live in the middle of no-where north of Aberdeen near Banff......
  14.
