A hybrid Honda with 550hp (rumoured), loads of modern tech, low weight (no figures yet), hybrid system similarly used to the P1's and you can be damn sure it will be quick and handle like a dream, all for £50k...........Even a GTR is £80k+ and you want all that for £30k less?? You only have to look at the other hybrid supercars to see this in theory is a bargain, if you like that sort of thing. The LFA is a bit of a red herring really, supposed to be stunning to drive, sure it wants to be at that money, but it was a technical show piece and nothing more, a lot like the Veyron. Your probably right about it being a flop over here though, but even the original went down like a pork pie at a bar mitsvah over its ten year sales, 400 total in the UK. didnt say i want it for that i said people the average people on the street dumping 100k in a car wont want that, to stand a chance it needs to be so cheap

I struggle to think of many S13 owners in the UK that have a spec anything like that and its not just because LS3's are cheap in the states. Skyline brakes, secondhand HSD's and an SR20 on an S13 and youre a lot closer to "the spirit" IMO, all these guys are doing is dropping sweet parts on a JDM classic. Just to take on another debated could you really do all the above for about $4000 as on ebay america a LS3 is about $4000, if it possible to do all of that for $4000? a quick look at Sr20DET on ebay america is about $1500-$2000 so leaves $2000-$2500 for a larger turbo intercooler, space framing etc If you can thats awesome and be 100% as reliable and Legal ie Catalytic converters etc as an Ls3

Define cheap. Done to the tightest budget possible, ideally at home using your own labour, secondhand parts sourced yourself and a bit of ingenuity. Like we used to modify cars back in the day before your Garage D's and Norris Designs existed. No that I want to answer Steves Q but if Wasso was doing all the work himself, forgot about any non functional styling mods, had sourced a less expensive engine (SBC rather than LS) then chucked a homebrew supercharger on it Id be a lot more inclined to think of that as a rod. ok so by your own addmission this is not a hot rod, as it, has non functional styling mods, its had a engine built by a shop all the bodywork done by a shop, expensive custom made wheels So by your own rules anything built by chip foose Boyd coddington steve darnell to name a few ARE NOT HOT RODS as there built in the shop there no expense spared builds for customers
