  1. So this was my third trip to the Ring, my first trip was with Bennett, good times! Second trip was in my GT86 if any of you remember it? I did 9 laps in total and it was a whole different ball game going from passenger to driver. I certainly didn't explore the talents or limits of the 86 unfortunately, I was happy doing my laps and just getting home safe! Myself and the Ring master Bennett I bought my M135i in January, I got home around 1am and then swapped my GT86 over to the M135i and was on Brands Hatch in the morning. Summary from Brands: The car has to be in 'sport +' mode otherwise traction control just cuts in all the time The car suffers highly from understeer The outside tyre edge wears a lot faster than the rest of the tyre The auto box IMO is fantastic I believe it isn't far off from the E92 M3 DCT There is a lot of body roll The standard brakes are brilliant if you actually get on them hard, didn't feel the standard pads faded badly Straight line pace leaves a lot of people phased and feeling upset Third Ring Trip Again at Nurburgring I had the same comments as Brands Hatch but I pushed a little harder than I did in my GT86 around 70% and in 12 laps I achieved a few under 8 minutes BTG laps. I believe I would of been consistently under if there wasn't so many crashes and yellow flags, there is a lot of drivers who do not seem to use their mirrors on the track. I do get upset with some of them lol so excuse any moaning in my video! This is a reasonable lap but the perception of speed is eliminated from this view, I set up the GoPro and then the view must of not saved which I found out when returning home. For anyone that knows the track at 'Schwedenkreuz' the car was good for 155mph when it was clear but on one of my laps I'm not sure what happened but as you go over the crest before turning into the left bend before Aremberg the car seemed to be shotputted across and I ended up on the grass which was pretty scary but I managed to control it thankfully! I've already booked to go back from September 30th-3rd October, not sure if there are any BMW fans here, I'm after some advice on upgrades again I've been looking at suspension etc but any track enthusiasts please share all, sounds silly but I really want to get the fastest M135i BTG  Any people interested in going when I am please let me know more the merrier!
  2. I'm not in a Zed, Orange M135I plate R3LMV I'll be one with a couple of members from here but no zeds will be there.
  3. How busy Isit? I'm there next weekend but weather forecast isn't promising!
  4. I don't get why you're going back to the 370Z, I'm baffled... Is this a delay until something else?
  5. Brave brave man hahaha. thanks. but not brave at all. was first time - I drove the z to the ring. and hired a KA from a local operator. In the end it was the right decision and very well worth it- the KA operator also took me for a lap in his ring purpose setup m3, we didn't get passed! This guy is good, plus he also used to hire out a 350Z - until a customer broke it in 2015. And in the ring setup KA you can go full power most of the way around. I also wasn't prepared to go out without insurance. I'm not rich enough to be able to afford not to have cover. I still wouldn't take the bike on one of those free for all car days. That's far too dangerous. It's bad enough for cars - on a nice weekend day you'll spend more time waiting in the carpark while they deal with casualties than you get track time. Even better that going solo on the bike, last year I saw a pillion do it! As the track will be bikes only I reckon I can give that one a shot. good spot TT. nice and central. As you say it's dangerous on tourist days, I saw many many bikers down during my trips even if I did bike it's not a place I would want to. Well setup cars is what it's about IMO, like you say the KA or the little Swifts there look awesome fun.
  6. You'll soon realise that you'll only need to go 60-70% to have fun, part of the fun is completing the lap! I went with Bennett from the forum both times, he certainly doesn't hang about, amazing fun! In May we're staying at 'Big Bens Guesthouse' it's about 2.5 miles from the track 6 of us for 2 nights £360 Ferry return is £73 ish only things that need booking in advance
  7. It may be September but if you look at hotel availability for the year near by it all sells out. I went as a passenger first time, then drove second time. It's quite daunting at first but so much fun once you feel a little more settled! Do a track day in the UK first to see how your car feels, but as Ekona said it may someone else that will be the danger despite you driving cautiously.
  8. I may be about for this with a few others, going in May and probably a couple other times September should be good. Zeds are long gone. M135I
  9. What else is coming?! When are you next at the Ring, I'm out there May19-22nd.
  10. Based in Surrey, I've bought a M135I so it has to go really.

  12. Watched a few episodes and saw the latest it's utter crap. There are so many YouTube channels which are 1000 times better.
  13. To add to this I actually wish I'd bought a M135 over my 86 now. The car is luxurious inside and is immensely fast, with a map it must be a absolute weapon, despite looking bland it ticks a lot of other boxes.
  14. 100% quicker than a 370z? Even with a supercharger I very much doubt that but i bet its a lot of fun I've driven both the auto and manual 370z many times, then jumped straight back in mine. The z has about the same power as mine but weighs 200kg more, more than happy to show you dependant on where you live.
  15. A fair write up, once I put new wheels and tyres on mine it does transform. As for the floaty I know what you mean but I think that's what Toyota intended. Mine is now on coilovers and it's like glue everywhere but still allows the slip at the back when giving it full beans in low gears. Drive in VSC Sport and it allows you to drive out of the slip it's brilliant fun, as for power mins sc running 320 it pulls so well like a little train, it is 100% quicker than a 370.
  16. Lol it needs a 2JZ? Even with standard power the car is a blast, not every car needs big power to be fun.
  17. The zed engine needs to be worked so I'm not sure about that comment either tbh. Forced induction transforms ther car, many options on the market aswell; I'm sure Mark at Abbey or the guys at Tarmac Sportz could give you a non bias comparison between the zed and 86.
  18. I've had two 350z the second supercharged, I agree with Ekona on most apart from engine note. As mentioned by another, an exhaust change or header change and the boxer note becomes alive (big fan). I chose the Gt86 over many other cars because of how well it drives and how it makes you become part of it, as mentioned again the chassis and weight make a big difference. Mine is supercharged and a lot quicker than a standard zed, with coilovers and a decent set of tyres it felt incredible at the track and for spirited driving. Many people with a lot more expensive cars have commented how great the 86 is, IMO a great little package.
  19. The M135i was very quick and BMW quality throughout you can't go wrong, I can only imagine the 140I is even better
  20. Where are you seeing these deals?
