  1. No not jealous at all. It just seems that all of your posts that I read are about how you have a little dilemma that's being caused by all the money you've got. Ok, I have never said this before because I don't think a public forum is the right place to discuss it but I have a lot of serious health issues - that is why I am not currently working - and I try to keep the forum discussions to nicer topics to be honest. If you don't like it I am sorry but I don't really owe you an explanation and am happy for you to continue with your life whilst I continue with mine. Take care and be happy
  2. Unless I fall out sideways and they have to help me up
  3. I hope Monty is feeling better soon x
  4. Ha ha, thank you everyone I am a bit scared of making an arse of myself but I think I'd love a nice car more than worrying about being able to enter and exit it with dignity. I know the suspension will be rock hard but Stanley isn't exactly forgiving either so I think I'll cope with that for a few more years, fingers crossed. I'm at the stage of life where I have to make decisions that I wouldn't have considered when I was younger and it could get kind of depressing. I am not sure if I will take up riding again or not and am selling my trailer because I've decided I will never compete again. All that makes me feel quite sad but, hopefully, I will stay fit enough to enjoy driving for another few years. I think it is probably important to have something to aim for as well, something to look forward to, and getting another nice car is my new goal
  5. Eh? Are you jealous? I live very modestly I'm afraid so you'd be disappointed if you took a look at my bank balance. I take the view that you don't know how long you have so why spend it being miserable?
  6. Mr TwoBears has kindly said that I can have the Alfa I've been lusting after (if I can get my hands on one) when Stanley's lease runs out but I am not sure if I am too old for a nice car? I have sat in the thing and loved it. It is very basic inside which is fine but it is also very low to the ground and one of my favourite car reviewers, who looks younger than me, described rolling out of the car onto the pavement which sounds a bit undignified to say the least I haven't ridden my horse for the best part of two years now due to being away from home and I am wondering if I should give up my dream of owning nice cars as well? I still don't feel like a grown up despite my advanced years but there's no doubt I am an old lady so maybe I should act like one? I know most of you are younger than me but some of you are in the same age bracket and might have some idea what I am talking about? Have you asked yourself the same question or do you just get on with it?
  7. Funny man Maybe he's wearing ladies knickers too? Who knows? So long as it doesn't affect his cooking
  8. I like Gilbert Scott's in St Pancras station I also like any Raymond Blanc brasserie.
  9. Ah, I see. I'm afraid that I have my own in-house designer = no cost to me
  10. Thank you for answering my question. That's all I wanted to know
  11. Certainly would put a dampener on your upcoming trackdays brillomaster Thanks to everyone who has answered. I am glad I am not the only one who would "do the right thing". Should just point out thought that my question was not, as some people misread, "Should I call the police if I see an RTA and people are hurt/dead/in danger?" nor was it, "Should I use 999 for a 101 call"? What I really wanted to find out, on the off-chance that there was a policeman/woman on the board who was willing to answer, was, "Do the police welcome calls like mine?" i.e. ones for 'information only' rather than informing them of live crimes or dangerous situations or do they just think, "Ho hum, more paperwork thanks to a well-meaning/interfering member of the public"? I guess I shall never know Still, I am certain that I did the right thing as the police came out, surprisingly quickly to my way of thinking, taped off the car and it has now been collected by the AA. Nice clean car too and only a 13 plate. Someone must be pretty fed up with themselves as it looks like a write off.
  12. Thanks Bockaaarck. Police are here already and putting tape around car. I think I DID do the right thing
  13. The accident happened last night. No one was hurt. The vehicle was unoccupied when I found it. Three people whom I presume are connected to the vehicle have been to examine it this morning. A tractor came out but did not tow the vehicle from the dyke. Dozens of people have driven past and any or all of them could already have called the police for all I knew, as well as the owner(s) notifying them. As it turns out no-one had reported it according to the person I spoke to as it was not recorded and they said they were unaware of the accident. The vehicle is in a dyke (not a ditch but not everyone knows what they are). It is nowhere near the edge of the road. It is not, in itself a danger to other road users. I just wanted to try and prevent a further incident. I did what I felt was right but I wondered, out of curiosity, if the police welcome information like this from members of the public. Only way to know the answer to that is to ask, surely
  14. I suppose I could be overthinking the situation but I am one of life's worriers have to admit There are a lot of accidents on these bends and one happened in front of me once which really shook me up. Luckily Mr Twobears was with me that time and he helped the driver who was really dazed and who then had a fit and banged his head on the steering wheel several times, poor chap. Mr Twobears stayed with him whilst I called an ambulance for him and I've always wondered if he was ok. He wasn't very old.
  15. I found a car, nose down in a ditch, front bumper ripped off, airbags deployed and bonnet crunched up but no-one was in it so I called 101 to report it after observing several cars slowing down, presumably to see if anyone was trapped, and causing a few more near misses It is commendable that people are slowing down but driving forwards whilst looking backwards over your shoulder is not such a good plan and I am worried that there may be another accident as the accident site is on a bad bend. If there was another crash I hadn't reported the smashed car I would have that on my conscience I just wondered if the police welcomed calls like this from the public or if they would rather not have the hassle? It would be nice to hear from someone in the police to see what their view is.
  16. I've just rung the police about a crashed car but wonder if they welcome calls from the public or if I am trying too hard to be helpful?
  17. Chris, Mrs Twobears causes trouble on every site she uses ... she should be Oi, I'm a very nice Bear I'll have you know I'm all cuddly like Winnie the Pooh and I make up my own little songs just like he does
  18. Ethel thanks you all for your confidence in her abilities to represent the forum and wishes to thank her manager, agent, voice coach, choreographer and ...oh no, she's now broken down into helpless clucking and tears. It's all got a bit much for her. Time for some restorative mealworms I think
  19. I'm not complaining about the search function. I am not very tech savvy, that's all. Please don't be upset with me
  20. Ha ha, shall I make her a little sash with the forum address on?
  21. Eeek, Hugo Actually, Mia would love him. There are 3 up at the yard and they get on fine 'cos Mia thinks she's a Dane too. Not so sure that he and Ethel would get on
  22. Unlike Adrian I can't afford a lovely big Dane so this is what I ended up with. She's called Mia, is fully grown, tinier than my smallest rabbit, but definitely a proper dog! She'll walk for miles, is very friendly and has won everyone round, even if they are confirmed small dog haters. http://
