  1. Alex, you know when you parked your Zed on that dodgy estate, and those kids in hoodies and baseball caps said "Look after your car for a fiver mate" and you declined? I think you should of said yes....
  2. I hope the issues are all resolved easily for you. To get an idea of the window motor cost, the legendary figure that is ZMANALEX has them: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/41837-new-genuine-nissan-power-window-motors/ If you're happy with the car, including it's imperfections, and the price you'll be paying, then go for it. I hope it's a good 'un.
  3. +1 My car had 80k when I bought it last year and it's at 91k now. There are members with cars over 100k that are still going strong (the cars that is, the members, well....). Find a nice car that's heen looked after. Read this guide: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/22880-guide-for-new-memberspotential-buyers/ And don't forget to look in the Zeds for sale section on the forum. A service history is important, but don't be put off if it's not a full Nissan service history. Many cars are looked after by enthusiasts, that carry out their own servicing and maintenance, or are taken to independants that they trust.
  4. Hello and You could find a high(er) mileage UK GT for that kind of budget (I did).
  5. Hello and Extend your influence to your mates and get them to sign up too (if the haven't already). And as the others have said, get some pics up!
  6. Thanks Kev. I'm really pleased with the difference the spacers have made. I'll try the new wheels with the spacers fitted, they will effectively give me ET0 Front and ET 15 rear, so will see how it looks. I'm really looking forward to fitting them. But I'm waiting for a package from Plastidip , so I can make an 'aesthetic change' to them first. Pics will follow....
  7. Not a problem As Keyser said, keep us updated with your progress by posting plenty of pics. Good luck with your (and your son's) project Zed.
  8. Cheers Chris, I think I must've found a real jobs worth MOT-er! The re-test is next Saturday 9th. I'm removing all the engine covers, inc the battery and brake fluid ones AND my Magic Tree! I'll just wait for the "Covers missing from engine bay" advisory....
  9. I'd never dream of selling my car with a CEL light on. I'd certainly never expect to sell it. I wouldn't rule it out, but depending on how much the seller is aking for it, I'd certainly be thinking of walking away. The first things that instantly spring to mind is why has he not had the engine light problem sorted? My 2004 car has done twice the mileage and is now only doing 12 miles a day as I drive to the train station. I've never seen the CEL light. Surely if you were serious about selling a car, you'd have the problems sorted first - certainly the obvious ones that would be apparent to someone that might not be an expert, such as a glaring warning light and a window that doesn't work? And at least spend an afternoon or a few quid on a polish too! Doesn't sound like he's cared for the car. Ask what fuel it's been run on (needs to be high octane/super unleaded) and see what tyres are on it. They should AT LEAST be decent brands and matched on each axle. These things will give you a further indication into what the previous owner(s) were like. There are plenty of good used Zeds out there MrRoger, don't buy a bad one. Oh, to the forum too.
  10. I like it Kyle. Breaks the BRONZE up and as your car has a good stance, it carries it off nicely.
  11. Can I take commission if it's sold Ckicken? http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68390-new-owner-of-a-cat-d-repairable-350z-advice-sought/
  12. Haha. Thanks for the tip Kev. For everyone's reference, I took my car for an MOT last weekend and aswell as (understandably) failing on the bushes below, I received a few advisories, including: - Undertrays fitted obscuring some underside components - Engine covers fitted obscuring some components in the engine bay - Items removed from drivers view prior to test - (This was my f****** air freshner)! I also had to take the splitter off the front, as it wouldn't go on the ramp otherwise! My car isn't even lowered! Anyway, I think we can now see why the bushes failed. And the loose one did fall out as we removed the arm The job itself was fairly easy, it's just the removal of all the corroded nuts etc caused a lot of cursing and grazed knuckles. But once that was sorted, it was onto the fun stuff - spacers I've seen many 'before and after' pictures, but they really can't represent the difference in appearance the spacers give to a car and how she sits. I am very pleased with the results, so much so I forgot to take any pictures until we'd finished. But here are a couple that gives an idea how she sits now. Before After
  13. Yeah, it's definitely a filter: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Cosworth-High-Flow-Air-Filter-Element-For-Nissan-350Z-2006-3-5-20002270-/370760176375?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3A350+Z&hash=item56530752f7
  14. By telling them you have an aftermarket exhaust fitted, this should be fine. They may ask if it's a full system, which yours isn't, just cat back. The Cosworth filter will be a panel filter in your standard airbox. Again an aftermarket non OEM part, but you need to tell the insurance company about it. It's a performance air filter.
  15. Look who's bought a stubby already! Great pics Louisa
  16. Hello and to the forum. This isn't just a great place for advice, but also for new and used parts from trusted traders and also members. For example, how about a rear bumper, in the right colour for £120? http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/67224-im-removing-a-few-parts-from-my-z-as-upgrading/
  17. Thanks all. Spacers are now fitted. Dave you were spot on, Nissan workshop manual states 80ft/lb or 108nm for wheel nuts and I've tightened the spacers to the same. Cheers for the tip RT I've seen before and after pics of spacers being fitted, but I can't belive the difference they've made to the physical appearance of the car. Very pleased with the results
  18. Tighter than what? A nun's chuff?
  19. Hi all, What torque should hub centric wheel spacers be tightened to? I don't want to just assume its the same as wheel nuts. Cheers, Ian
  20. OK, so not the most exciting picture or mod, but here's what I'll be fitting on Saturday following an MOT failure and advosory. Front lower control arms and bushes (L & R) Rear anti roll drop link rods (L&R) And while the wheels are of, it would be rude not to fit my 20 and 25mm spacers
  21. Oooooo, nice I want an air saw.
