    My new car!

That was what clinched it !! Bet it didn't cost £1500 though!
  2. Happy birthday guys. Have a great day
  3. Jack, on a side note, I think this not only gives you an idea what the cars are like, especially if you meet up with Will (Rosie is goooooooooooorgeous BTW), but I think this has also given you a feel for what THIS FORUM is like, aswell as its members. Not sure of your previous and/or current cars have meant you're a member of a BMW forum, but from what I gather from posts and friends that are Beemer owners, the forums aren't that, erm, 'welcoming'. This place certainly adds to the Zed ownership experience
  4. Wow, you really couldn't make that up! I know you're trying to save the pennies for your Zed project, but I'd buy a lottery ticket or 2 with the profit from the Toyota if I were you. Talking of your project, I think I've found some footage of your car and how it received the damage to the rear....
  5. Just tell 'em their tutor is away for Easter and to stay at home and practice 'chopsticks' whilst you pop out for a couple of hours But failing that, no worries, there will be another meet in April, so keep an eye on the regional thread.
  6. Guys, thank you again so much for your comments, definitely given me lots to think about, but also armed me with more info than I had when I first asked the question. One thing that a couple of you have mentioned I now know I do want..... Where can I pick up an iWhore? Are you tied to a contract or are they Pay As You Go?
  7. Thanks all, some really useful feedback there. Very much appreciated.
  8. I enquired about all my music etc on iTunes and according to the girl in the shop I spoke to, she said there's an app called 'easy phone sync' which is simple to use and tranfers all your iTunes data onto the new storgae provider.
  9. Cheers guys, waiting is a very viable option, as I'm happy with my current phone, so don't feel I need to change it. Even considered upgrading to a popular model and sticking it on eBay to raise "Zed mod funds". Just means I'd be stuck with my phone for another 2 years.
  10. OK, so it's that time of year (well every 2 years now) where I can upgrade my mobile phone. Current shortlist after a very brief chat in the phone shop (not the Channel 4 show) is a Samsung Galaxy S3 or an iPhone 5. Currently have an iPhone 4 and before that the 3S and 3. Kinda stuck with the iPhone as it fits my docking station.but I know this won't be the case with the 5 and an adaptor in needed. Not a massive techie and just use the phone for calls (old skool I know), text, music (as in iPod) and tinterweb and camera occasionally. Even though I've got an iPhone, I don't really have any apps installed and I'm not a gamer etc. Any tips, suggestions, recommendations or horror stories would be appreciated. Ian
  11. OK, plastidip update. I finished painting my wheel and let it dry. It looked amazing - ly AWFUL! The colour in the above photo looks alright, quite nice even, but in the light of day I think the use of 'Gunmetal grey' is far from the truth. It looks more like primer. Think battleship grey. I'd used plenty of coats, so it wasn't the thickness that was the issue, the colour in the above photo is nothing like the finished product. Needless to say, after a test fit to the car, just to see A) how my new wheels looked regarding fitment/offset and; B ) for curiosity to see how awful the primer grey wheels would look on the car I began the 'easy, just peel it off' process, glad that I hadn't actually painted the wheel in 'real' paint. So, can you just peel Plastidip off? Yes and no. If the Plastidip is applied liberally (i.e. thick) to a flat, smooth surface, yes, it just comes straight off. BUT, it the coats aren't really thick (but still thick enough to be the same uniform colour) then you need to pick at it. Also, if the surface isn't flat (for example in my wheel where the Torx bolts are) then it's a real PITA. It can be removed though by rubbing with your thumb/finger - just expect sore thumbs afterwards. Credit where credit is due, it is easy to use and can be removed easily if applied thickly to the right surface. I imagine the black stuff that members use for their front bumper lower lip is brilliant. But please don't buy the gunmetal grey unless you want what ever you're painting to look like it's been prepped in primer awaiting paint.
  12. Hi Jack, You're more than welcome to come along to our next West Mids mini meet on 30th March http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/68580-west-mids-breakfast-meet-eat-saturday-30th-march/ Doesn't look like there'll be any 370's there (unless Will fancies a drive), but there will be a mix of coupe and roadster 350's.
  13. Ask for HP lol How will a bottle of brown sauce help? Looks fantastic BTW. +1 on the cubby cover.
  14. Ouch! That's a lot of tax! Doesn't sound unheard of for a clutch to go at that mileage and could depend on a number of things (how you drive the car etc). Could your mechanic give you an idea of cost? Maybe put his quote/guesstimate for parts and labour up here and then ask if it sounds reasonable. There's a lot of experienced traders/members here that will help point you in the right direction. Oh and to the forum.
  15. Cool. I'll drop you a PM nearer the time to sort out a meet point (save clogging this thread up)
  16. If it's help you seek to prevent you from buying further mods, I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place mate But if it's help and advice you're after, welcome aboard
  17. I've just booked the Cribbs Causeway Travelodge just off J17 of the M5 for £28 which seemed a good deal and favourable over driving down in the wee small hours. It's about 30 mins from Castle Combe so I'll be travelling down the night before. If anyone is driving in from the M5 or Bristol area on the morning of the 11th, please let me know.
  18. Hello and Your window issues sound the same as the ones I had. Did the reset and it's been fine since.
  19. Hello and From your description it sounds a decent car.
  20. Hi Bennett, is the Nismo body kit to be sold as one, or would he consider splitting? Hope his health improves soon mate.
  21. That's quite a list. Will look forward to seeing your progress
  22. Nice one Scott. Congrats on your purchase. Best colour too
  23. The poll is currently sat at a 50/50 split, which is really helpful I know changing the colour of your wheels is often an alternative to getting new rims (and the cheaper of the two), believe me I've considered chaging the colour of mine a lot, but I honestly think the standard colour of the Rays looks best on a GM car. Except for maybe in Manphibian's pics..... I'm 50/50 after seeing those
