  1. Like a car also, any 'non standard' parts can increase premium. So, if you do get your 883, keep it as stock as possible and try to refuse temptation with all the shiny bits! (Appreciate that's like saying "Don't mod ya Zed). If it's kept away from your home address (i.e. locked in a mates garage) can also affect the price. I think your main hurdles will be the value and desireability of the bike, your (current lack of riding) experience and your age. Ringing round though should see better results, Try the brokers MR mentioned above directly. Good luck
  2. OK, apologies for my views on H-D. I know they're not to everyone's taste, but neither are the bikes I like/ride. Regarding your insurance, there are plenty of 'specialist' brokers out there, just like there are for the Zed, pick up a copy of MCN or bike magazine and call a large number of them. Things like alarms and security tagging (like Alphadot or Datatag) can reduce premiums, aswell as keeping it in a locked garage with a ground anchor.
  3. +1000 I'd really advise on getting something else, other than a Highly Dangerous (sorry, not a fan) for your first bike. Run around on something else for your first year on 2 wheels, get a year's NCB and some experience before jumping in and buying a new Harley. Your views may change in those 12 months. to the world of motorcycles though. I really must ride mine more this year, it's lay redundant really since getting my Zed
  4. No worries. It's widely known that GM is the fastest and best colour. I know the V5 states silver, but if your paint code is WV2, it's definitely a GM.
  5. Very nice mate, looks cool. It's a gunmetal though buddy, not silver
  6. Hi Danny and welcome to the forum. There are a few Travelodges in the Bristol/M5 area that have relatively cheap rooms. I was gonna drive down early morning but for the sake of less than £30 I'm staying 30 mins away from Castle Combe at Cribbs Causeway just off the M5. Difficult to get digs near the event now, but why have a long drive down from the NW when you can stay nearer for not a lot of dollar? Ian

    OEM Bits & Bobs

First dibs on the exhaust if you can confirm what make it is (or if anyone else can identify it)?
  8. Cheers Wasn't too hard, you just need to be patient with the wrap and plan where you're gonna start and finish, especially with the centre console. If you're gonna do the handles and dash, I'd do the passenger one first, then driver's, then finally tackle the dash last as you'll have a better feel for what you can/can't do with the wrap.
  9. Spinal Tap! "Turn it up to eleven, cos it's louder than ten"
  10. I'm going to ask is probably a dumb question now, but many of you guys have said "A is better than B". Please define 'better' I understand that differences are more noticeable on track, with brakes heating up and fading etc, but what are the differences noticed on everyday roads with a set of 'better' pads/discs? I've never ever thought that "these brakes are a bit naff" nor have i felt the need for better ones. I currently have EBC yellow stuff pads and OEM discs. Do 'better' pads give you more feel, provide more braking power? What is 'better'?
  11. Nice. But I'm gonna ask, forgive me if I'm wrong, but is the 'Z' upside down now? Might just be the angle of the photo.
  12. The right tools definitely make it a lot easier. Something to strip the wires with (rather than a Stanley knife) should be near the top of the list. Especially if you like your thumbs....
  13. Cool If I'm going to be bringing a divider to Japfest (or any other meet), I'm happy to take cash on collection/delivery. Am I adding you to the list morgs?
  14. I'll even help you out and give you the link Joe: http://www.350z-uk.c...day-30th-march/ EDIT: I must add that as you're currently 8th on the list, I don't think I'll have your divider done by then mate - it's next weekend Be great if you could make the meet though
  15. I'm not an electrician or mechanic and managed it without any issues. As long as you can snip, strip and connect wires together you should be fine. Have a practice with some scrap wires, or just buy a length from a DIY shop until you're comfortable with the procedure. Plenty of guides for removing the centre console and then HU. Whereabouts are you located? There might be a forum member close by willing to lend a hand
  16. I've got an Alpine BT HU (although different from yours). Making the changes detailed in the link Jon posted above certainly made a difference to volume and speaker peformance.
  17. We got a light covering. I couldn't resist seeing how my car would look in the next Disney / Pixar 'Cars' movie....
  18. That's fine Joe, I'll add you to the list. Whereabouts are you located?
  19. No worries Shane, I'm now all set up as a member trader so will be making some very soon. I'll add you to the list. I'll put you down too KC. Oh, hold on.....
  20. I know one thing - it's crying out for a set of spacers!!
  21. Bet she got a telling off from the choreographer. "It's right hand on hip at that point Nadine! Right hand, on hip"!
  22. Doesn't give any potential buyers any confidence in the build quality and hand brake performance when your show car has blocks in front and behind the wheels on a flat surface
  23. +1 Checking the oil (and the best way to do it on a Zed) has recently been a topic of discussion: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/69068-so-went-to-check-the-oil-and-help/
