  1. This topic came up at a meet last weekend. One of the attendee's said "I've got a set of the Kintix discs fitted to my Zed". I instantly ran to the front of his car to look at the egg shaped, cracked, split and dangerous discs. Guess what, they were fine. They're fitted to a daily driver Zed and have covered just over 6000 miles. There were no lips on the discs and they looked in great condition. The owner reported no issues with them at all and they performed as brakes should. Unfortunately I forgot to ask what pads he was using with them. I think a key factor to a brake set up's performance is the bed-in procedure. As long as this is followed, I don't think your average Joe, using his/her Zed on the road will have any issues. Just thought I'd add a bit of 'real world' feedback to accompany flyboy's and also to say, I've just ordered me a pair of fronts with some Brembo pads. I'll report back after a few 1000 miles
  2. Although I can't help with the initial 'upgrade' question, I'm currently working through a P3 myself (doing sections at a time) and have found the Nissan checklist really useful. I'm just ticking stuff off as and when I do it. The checklist can be found in here : http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/61672-nissan-service-checklist/
  3. Thanks mate, that's todays quota used already. I'm exhausted now and my head hurts. I'm off for a lie down.
  4. Jeez dude, that's a mess Not really "here's a solution" post, but a suggestion. Apologies if you're already doing this. Are all 4 other wheel nuts still fitted? If not, I'd refit them. By tightening the other 4 up, it may release a little pressure on the mangled one. Whereas if you've just hot this one left holding the wheel on, it'll be harder to release the tension. Just a thought Best of luck mate.
  5. Nice! My Dad used to assemble the gearboxes for these at Longbridge.
  6. The 2 buttons on the right of the clocks change the brightness of the illumination - it's the 2 on the left you wanna be pressing. The top one should scroll through the following (it does on UK cars). Current Speed Outside Temperature Distance To Empty (dte) Average Fuel Consumption Elapsed Time / Stopwatch Up Shift Indicator (Manual only). This can be changed by pressing the lower of the 2 buttons. If you haven't got a user manual, just Google 350Z Owners Manual PDF. The info you're after is on p.68 (in the one I'm looking at anyway) Lthumbs:
  7. I know my car and my limits mate. When Pat's red combi overtook us, I wanted to take the bait, but I just thought "No, let him go, you don't stand a chance".
  8. My 2004 UK DE has the shift light, but I never saw it once while following you Kev....
  9. I've got the Alpine HU you mention (and link to) above. I've got the BT version though http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_868945_langId_-1_categoryId_265857 (I paid a lot less for it from Halfords). Think it was about £170. I'm shocked at the current price they've got it listed at. They (Halfords) normally have a deal on there ICE so might be worth waiting. Regarding the stereo, I'm more than happy with it. You'll need the additional harness for the steering wheel controls and to wire it in, just do Buster's mod: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/58947-reduced-sound-out-put-after-replacing-oe-bose/ It sounds perfectly fine to me and still retains the BOSE speakers and sub.
  10. Sounds like the same vinyl I got. (I didn't get the expensive 3M stuff). In the current economic climate, I've heard that Formula 1 and MotoGP teams are wrapping fibreglass and aluminium parts in carbon look vinyl to save costs. I may of made that last 'fact' up.....
  11. If you've got any decent sized off-cuts, you'll be sat in your car soon, maybe in traffic etc, looking round the interior thinking "Hmmm, what else can I wrap"? It'll happen, I betcha.
  12. Looks cool Nice work with the skirts. I tried wrapping my front splitter when I got it. Hence the reason I now have a lot of spare vinyl and a painted splitter - it ain't easy doing something that size/shape!
  13. to the forum. At least it sounds like the previous owner hasn't thrashed it!
  14. But I won't be driving on paper Just had an email from Demon Tweaks - my springs have been despatched. Excited
  15. 15 and 13mm lower than the Tein to be exactly exact
  16. No mate, they don't fit They're M6 thread and my rusty ones are M8.
  17. Nissan 215Z - Like a 350Z but only firing on 4 cylinders
  18. My thoughts exactly Adam. I figure a good price for a decent used set would be around £100, so £121 for a new set is a bit of a no brainer. Only one part number is listed on Tein's site and that's the one above which gives the 15/17mm. I've just ordered me a set Cheers guys
  19. Yeah I saw those Ad. Bit strange as there are other Demon Tweaks outlet sellers selling them for a higher price. In the ad you've linked to, it doesn't mention the lowering measurements, and in the other Demon Tweaks ads it states 30mm front 15mm rear. But on another ad (not DT), it states 17mm front, 15mm rear. There doesn't seem to be any consistency in measurements - however the part number appear to be the same in all ads - SKP24-AVB00. I'm muckin fuddled. A 30mm drop would be too much for me.
  20. Aftert fitting the new wheels and now having an even bigger arch gap, I'm now after some Tein springs more than ever! Thought I'd try one last time here before buying new, to see if anyone had a set they no longer wanted, or were planning on removing for coilovers etc etc. Anyone? Cheers, Ian
  21. A chippy? I got the impression he hung around McDonald's drive-thru's in anticipation.....
  22. Looks good I've only wrapped a few interior bits n' pieces. I daren't tackle anything that size as I know I definitely haven't got the patience! Roof next?
