  1. You've convinced me. I'll have a set please. PM sent
  2. These look especially as I really want to de-tango my car. Does anyone have a link to a fitting guide for this as I want to know how difficult this mod is before buying?

    ITS ON!!....

Just a quick geekyfinance thing. You mentioned finance, have you thought about getting a loan off the bank instead. This will save you thousands of pounds usually because you done have the admin fees etc.And before you ask no I don't work in finance. Just thought I'd share my experience. Oh and good choice on the Zed you will love it
  4. I always use Tesco Momentum 99 (I don't have a shell garage on my usual commute). I do a 35 mile commute every day and usually get about 27mpg, and before anyone asks I love putting my foot down on an empty road so not exactly economically. I have only put 95 in once before I got scared out of it, though I am sure there are loads of Zeds running 95 and I have only ever seen one picture. Personally I think this is bad luck otherwise there would be loads more engine failures.
  5. I like multispoke tbh. I run 19" Inovit Vortex Prestige. Some people don't like them, but I think it suits the Z well.
  6. No worries. Overall pics are here: viewtopic.php?f=9&t=59749 More detailed pics of my mods are here, last post viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17991&start=30 Hope you like and sorry for the hi-jack
  7. I dunno, I don't think the price is too bad. I bought mine for 8k (other GTs were goin for about 8.5k) in Feb, same spec, same colour and from a dealer but with 57k on the clock and the orange interior (not sure if that makes it better or worse, depends on your opinion I suppose). Mine also didn't have the Rays but some aftermarket multispoke 19s (which I prefer tbh *run and hides*). But it was because of the mods (also has carbon fibre roof, scorpion exhaust, K&N typhoon induction kit (I gave them a load of bullshit about proof of thrashing and after a stock example ) that I got a years free tax and an extra 300 for my old Leon with 160k on the clock and added fox holes. All in all I don't think that I done too bad and I hope mine hasn't depreciated by a grand already . But at the end of the day pay what you think it is worth. PS. Sorry for rambling on, but hopefully it has been helpful to help you in your search for that perfect car PPS. It was the first one I looked at *run and hides again*
  8. If you get a stubby let me know which one you get as this is something I'm looking at getting. Don't want to be picking up any @*!# now do we! !!
  9. The Ipod hack isn't that hard tbh. I would have been happy to do mine if I was confident with a soldering iron (I wasnt even that good with it at school 9 yrs ago!!). In the end I took it to one of my mates who is an electrician. We had it done in about 2 hours and most of that time was dicking about with getting the soldering iron to work. The step by step guide really is brilliant. Oh and unfortunetly I live in Cambs so I can't help before you ask Good luck
  10. Yeah was going to say that seems a bit high. For comparison my UK '54 plate on 57k cost 8 grand in Feb, yet mine has GT pack and came with a years tax. Though tbf mines graphite not blue. If you shop about you'll prob find lower. One think is for definate though you will definately love it
  11. 25, Architectural Designer. Would like to think of myself as a driver, but I'd probaly be classed as a poser
  12. Wow looks good, now where did you get them so I can get me a pair??
  13. Well since everyone is asking about the wheels thought I'd tell you what they are. They are the Inovit Vortex Prestige 19". They arent that bad to clean as long as they have been sealed. I clean them using AutoGlym Clean wheels then use the AutoGlym wheel sealant, brings them up a treat . I can't take credit for the house either I'm afraid. I live in a terraced row so have no hose or driveway, so these were taken when I washed the car at my mums on Mothers Day. Glad you all seem to like. For more info on the mods I've posted here to help others. viewtopic.php?f=20&t=17991&p=858004#p858004
  14. Hi, Dont know if anyone still looks at this thread but thought I'd share the modifications that have been done to my car. These were all done by the previous owner, so if I post something incorrect or there are additional mods that I haven't noticed please let me know. Scorpion stainless steel exhaust Carbon fibre wrapped spoiler Carbon fibre wrapped roof Inovit Vortex Prestige 19" alloys Headlight eyelids (not sure if this is a mod tbh, I'm sure someone will let me know) K&N Typhoon induction kit Blacked out rear windows Hope you all like. Any comments / questions (good and bad) are welcomed.
  15. Hey just thought I'd share some photos of my 05 zed I purchased at the beginning of Feb. As you can see a few choice mods have been done (not by me I might add) which I actually like. There are a few other little things that I want to do such as change the front reflectors to white, install a stubby aerial and remove the red lens from the fog light. Obviously all comments / questions (good and bad) are welcomed. Hope you all like!!!
  16. So thought I'd let everyone know what the outcome of all this hassle is as you've all been so helpful. Everything is all sorted, PUG dealer is paying for it all including flywheel (who said all dealers were bastards ). Hopefully get my baby back tomorrow evening, if not Wednesday morning. I thought it pulled well before, now its gonna fly . Zmanalex, thanks for all the info buddy, unfortunetly won't be buying anything off you this time, but I'm sure I will in the future. You know supporting the community and all that. In a couple of weeks I'll clean her up and get some pics on here for you all to drool over Thanks again everyone Dan
  17. Right been to the garage this morning and my clutch is f**ked. This morning I could barely get any drive, a lot worse than last night. Now just looking into prices for the clutch and flywheel (though I am determined this isnt going to be my problem ). Am I right in thinking that the OEM spec clutch is Exedy and the Flywheel LUC, but you'll all recommend going for a Fidenza single mass flywheel instead (if possible). Therefore only the flywheel would be uprated and the clutch left as stock, or would the Exedy clutch also be an uprated clutch. As you can probaly gather I'm a little confused . Can someone please enlighten me?
  18. Hey, Do you get a discount for purchasing both, I'm just trying to sell this as much as possible to the dealer. Though tbh I'm thinking they won't want to be upgrading my clutch . Bastard dealers Also what is the delivery charge to UK mainland? Btw if I don't swap out the fly will it be a case of having to get it done pretty sharpish anyway? If you do not swop out the fly now, expect to have to pull the box out again in the not to distant future. The fly is already discounted from £1100.00 (Nissan price) to £345.00 (Zmanalex price) If the garage prices up the parts from a Nissan Parts Department they will be quoted circa £1100 for the fly alone, so perhaps a cash settlement from them may be the way forward for you. Hey Alex, How much would Nissan quote for only a clutch replacement? I can imagine the pug dealer giving the OP a hard time wanting to replace the fly at the same time as technically that's still fit for use unless the OP can prove otherwise. Maybe getting the pug dealership to quote for just the Nissan OEM clutch change and then offering a cheaper Alex price for both would convince them? As you say the garage will certainly not roll over and just hand out a fly so the OP will have to fight his corner vigorously to get a result. Worse case scenario, garage replaces the clutch under warranty and OP supplies them with a fly. What is the mileage on this car? First stage is to inform the garage of the issue and get it looked at asap. Everything is hypothetical at the moment until a diagnoses is carried out. The car has 57000 miles on it, so I was aware that the clutch needs replacing about now, luckily for me its happened whilst still under warranty. Luckily my mate is a mechanic and also when I brought the car the PUG dealer said that should anything go wrong then I can get it fixed at any VAT registered garage which is good. I'm shooting over to my mates tomorrow to double check it is the clutch then if needed he'll get a full report done (both from his garage and another) stating what needs doing. Fingers crossed this should be enough of a persuasion to get both done under warranty, then it'll just be a case of arguing over the money and what parts I'm allowed to get. Ps. Thanks for all the feedback guys

  20. Hopefully the dealer will sort it out, it was a proper registered Peugeot dealer so I'm sure they'll be cool, though there goes their profit I'm going to get my mate to change it if possible and try and swing an uprated clutch and flywheel at the same time, not sure the dealer will be happy but we'll see Is the set up stated above good, and will it make it feel much different in the gear change? As you can tell I'm not exactly brilliant in knowing the mechanics of my car, though this is probably to be expected having changed from a Leon with under 1/2 the power of my new baby
  21. Sh*t I was hoping you weren't going to say that . Roughly how much is a new clutch? Tomorrow I'll give the dealer give grief and hopefully he'll change it. I've got to admit its annoying the hell out of me, I was just thinking it was because we've had all the snow recently and the back end was slipping, though tonight thought I'd try and find out what it was as the roads are pretty dry. Not exactly chuffed with your answers but thanks anyway
  22. Hey, I'm a little bit worried and hoping that someone can tell me whats up (if anything) I've just bought a '05 UK 350z GT (3 weeks ago), and I've started noticing now I've been driving it a bit harder that it pulls fine in 1st up to 6th. Yet when I go to overtake in 5th or 6th gears at about 60 mph. It feels as though the rear wheels are spinning up (which I believe they are due to the smell of burning rubber). The revs go up yet the car doesnt accelarate. Now the question is, is this normal due to the massive amount of torque in the car, and I just need to be a bit more light footed or is there a problem that I need sorting out. I wouldn't normally worry but this is my first powerful RWD car and my previous cars (Fiesta 1.1 and Leon 1.8 se) don't spin the wheels in 5th gear. Other things that may be of interest: - Traction Control Light is not coming on - Front wheels are 245/35/19 rears are 265/35/19 (tho I believe these have been stretched to fit a 275mm rim) - Tyres are Kenda Kaiser (which I believe are @*!#) Hopefully someone can put my mind at risk and tell me I just dont know how to drive properly Thanks in advance
  23. Welcome I've just got mine and it's in the GM grey (which is actually the best ) Mine had the bluetooth thing in it as well. What you need to do is turn the engine on and press the button on the side of the bluetooth thing in the cubby hole. When the light stops flashing try to find it with the bluetooth on your phone (it should be called something like 350z, mine was) and link up with it. You'll have to guess the code but its usually 0000 or 1234. Then make sure that your phone is given granted status on it (or auto link, or something along those lines) then everytime you get in the car it will automatically link up, you'll know this is working because PHONE will flash up on the headunit. Also to unlock the passenger door just double click the unlock button. 1st click unlocks just drivers door, 2nd click unlocks passenger door. I found this out the hard way after months of frustration on my old Leon, oh well you live and learn Hope this helps Dan
  24. Hi everyone, Thought I'd just say hi, brought my 350z GT at the beggining of this month in Gunmetal grey. I'm sure I'll have questions when they pop up though unfortunetly haven't been able to give it a flooring yet due to the snow and the fact this is my first RWD car. I'm sure it'll be fine though Dan
