I tried to get my Nismo shifter fitted at Infiniti this week, they couldn't take the OEM knob off, said they had tried everything but were afraid of doing serious damage. Anyone got any advice on how to do this and whats the worst case scenario, is it just the OEM knob being damaged or is there a chance of some serious problems?

This is all good info, I suggest I will probably end up having to change insurance companies. As for my Trump-like high annual premium I attribute it to either: a.) being in the military because we generally get shat on by insurance companies & banks, or b.) possibly something to do with writing off my beloved 350z on the M6 three years ago. (those 305 rears really like to aquaplane) Not that I'm bitter, as a public servant obviously I get paid @*!# loads of money..... Thanks for the advice guys.

Ok so those lovely people at North Yorkshire Police have allegedly clocked me doing 70mph on a 60mph stretch of the A19. You know, on that bit thats straight as an arrow for 4 miles and with great visibility and absolutely no accidents? I think I'll end up doing the speed awareness course, I just wondered if anyone has any experince with how much I can expect my insurance premium to rise. I'm currently insured with Admiral at £800 per anum (34 years old clean licence etc) and I know they are one of the insurers that specifically ask about this. Cheers for the advice. Luka

I've got a pair of Takeda short ram intakes I got from the U.S but I think one of the forum traders sells them as well. As most of the old hands usually point out you won't get any power gains, but you get a lovely v8 warble when accelarating in third gear. I have a full Akrapovic titanium exhaust and Berks HFCs so all together the sound is quite lush. I would record something for you but I think you need a professional set up to do it justice.

I thought I knew about cars until I read this post.

Which kit/camera did you go for? I did some searching a few months ago and couldn't find anything that seemed high quality enough. Falcon performance also struggled when I asked them.

thanks for the info Hodaka, you're a technological god compared to me so I'm afraid I'll be paying some nice man to do this for me. I wouldn't mind spending a bit more on the camera if it would get me a better image but clearly I've struggled to find anything other then the same sort of price range that you guys are talking about.

Hello All, Obviously quite a few topics on this subject but I can't see anywhere a definitive break down of what the best camera is and what the difference is between a £20 camera and a £100 one. Given how much I'm likely to be forking out for labour I'm tempted to get the best one possible since I'm at that "f*%k it might as well spend the cash" stage. So.... -What makes for a good camera and are there any that are considered the "best". (ideally I'd like on that is decent at night as well) -How much should I expect to pay and how many hours does it usually take to install. Many thanks for your help in advance.

Anyone had any experience with this? I got a bottle cheap because I'm on an army camp with no readily available bucket or hose for water. Can you wax after applying it and does it remove existing wax protection? Luka

Yeah we are mate, I had a 350 before my 370, was just trying to illustrate that I probably went a bit to wide there or the springs weren't right or something.

I had 305's on my 350z with stock ride height but custom alloys (19"). I found during pacey driving if you hit dips in the road the tyres would scrape against something as the body of the car pushed down onto the springs.

I take your point but that's a matter of personal asthetic's, I'm interested if I can go a bit further then flyboy without anything jarring or scraping. By the time I've bought the tyres its kind of too late to decide its a bad idea. Does anyone know of someone who has fitted 285's on the rear with 25mm spacers?

Hello all, Hoping a tyre guru might be able to help. So I've got the Rays wheels on the 370 currently fitted with a 275 width Kumho tyre and 20mm spacers. I would like to fit a 285 Goodyear and 25mm spacers to get a wider more aggressive stance. Can anyone envisage any problems or knows of anyone who has run into trouble such as having to roll out your wheel arches etc?

On a similar note, in the same area, could anyone reccomend a paintless dent removal specialist?

If you haven't sold them in a few weeks we can talk, at the moment I'm moving jobs, houses and going on holiday, it's not a recipe for success. I would also have to put new rubber on those which drives the price up for me. I'll be surprised if you don't get a sale soon though.
