  1. Ok, does the KP need to set for a while before I smash on the wet coat and is there any benefit to putting on multiple layers of wet coat?
  2. Well that's easy enough, both it is!! Now I presume I buff up the FK after a multi stage wash as per usual and then what? Spray it again with water before applying the Wetcoat so its damp? Or can the wetcoat just go straight on the dry panel? thanks buddy, you're a one-man detailing guru.
  3. Hey gang, Just bought my new car and am taking on a road trip down through Italy and to Croatia (dust & high temperatures!). Unfortunately due to awkward dates I haven't been able to book with an acceptable detailer to do a ceramic coating on the car which would have been my preferred option. Instead I was going to protect the car for the month or so I'm away and then deal with properly when I get back. Its a black car so little paint faults show up and I'm quite keen to give it the best protection I can. I've got FK which I've used before but I've also been recommended some WetCoat which appears to be ridiculously easy to apply. So, which one? or even both? Thanks for the help
  4. Mate they reccomend GYEON Q2M CURE after three or so coats of CanCoat but I can't figure out what the purpose of this is. Can you explain and give your opinion as to its worth?
  5. Any pictures of these fitted to a car mate? I'm tempted.
  6. Dont suppose you've got any pictures of this fitted?
  7. I have the same job and the same postcode! I haven't moved! It's barking that its acceptable to increase someones premium by %100. I'll phone prestige and see if I can get some joy.
  8. So I'm in my 3rd year of owning my 370z, my insurance has gone from 1k in the first year to £800 in the second. I am being quoted £1400 pounds this year by all and sundry. Aviva more than doubled my existing quote from £800 to £1700! I am living in the same part of yorkshire, car is the same, no points no claims I'm one year older and have an extra years no claims. Someone please just explain this to me?
  9. I have this exhaust with Berks, excellent noise and high quality throughout. Its very quiet up to about 3500rpm and then it starts properly bellowing. It was about £1800 new with tips (previous owner bought) so personally I think the price is reasonable. Good luck with the sale buddy.
  10. Ok think I got all of that, sad to bin the Meguires stuff since the bottles are almost full but not much point wasting my time is there. Guess I need to get myself a decent polish compound.
  11. So you lunatics have managed to properly infect me with this disease and I have gone ahead and bought a Slim's machine polisher. This week will probably be my first chance to play. I have a couple of questions before I go destroy my paintwork. - Got some Meguires three stage detailing bottles. I understand what the polish and wax stages do (got rid of the wax, seemed rubbish) but I don't undertand what the "colour correction/enhancement" stage does? I know there is a @*!# load of better products out there but I'd like to use this up before I go on to better stuff and I'll do my research for the next round of purchasing. - Pads. Would appreciate some straightforward advice with regards to what makes a good pad, where can I get it and whats wise to use as a novice? - Claying. Did it 6-8 weeks ago, do I need to do it again? Do I need to do it every time I get the machine polisher out? - If I'm trying to remove all existing products and go for a clean start, possibly help get rid of tar and make the claying easier, is there a product that you guys would recommend? - Harsh vs Soft shampoos. Do people use different shampoos when they are doing a big clean and when they are doing a "top up" clean? - Layers. Got a couple of waxes (liquid turtle wax and some rock solid autofinesse stuff), is the shiny/wet gloss look enhanced by layering the wax? I'm looking at ilogikal and a couple of others here to add some sanity to my madness, I appreciate everyones input though and thanks for helping me out in advance. Luka
  12. The wax bit I'm fairly happy with, its the polishing stage that I wasn't convinced about.
  13. Now you guys have got me browsing for a cheap machine polisher! Honestly this forum is like an illness.
  14. I've got a bottle of that, I may as well use it up! Thanks for the links ilogikal, I'll look in to it once I've used up my existing products.
  15. Well I guess that means I should try the Meguires stuff then!! Is this what you were talking about ilogikal? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007XFGR7A/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_1 should I apply a sealant immidiately afterwards? I'll have to resort to elbow grease for now!
  16. So I haven't got a machine polisher and to be honest I'm struggling to rustle up the motivation to spend £100+ on a machine I might use three times a year. In addition I'm in the army so I can't afford to have loads of possessions, I live out of a single room and these things are bulky. Having said all that I get the strong impression that polishing the car by hand is largely a waste of time, I have tried with some Meguire's and also Autoglym SRP (a contraversial product I know). Could anyone give me some tips or alternatively confirm my suspicions that I just need to pony up for the machine?
  17. You have a picture of what these look like on the car buddy?
  18. You cost peanuts for what you do! Polished Bliss on the other hand, they're up North... Me (next week). And that's exactly what I'll be doing... to my own car. Wanna stop by and do mine?
  19. Without wanting to totally hijack the thread anyone reccomend someone who can do a similar sort of thing (full detail + ceramic coating) in North Yorkshire/Richmond area?? Obviously because it up North I'm expecting it to be half the price....
  20. I'd be interested if I could figure out whether it can integrate with the GT connect package so it displays the view on my screen. I'll see if I can do some more research.
  21. Would I need to buy any other bits to fit this to a 370z (I've got GT connect), and when its set up I take it I simply put the car in to reverse and it comes on etc?
  22. Anyone know if the grommet sizes are the same for a 370Z?? (sorry if this has been asked, I haven't been able to find an answer)
  23. I'd rather have one that feeds in to the satnav screen to be honest and the problem is at its worst when its dark so a camera that is decent in low light would be mega useful. I like tinkering with cars too, just not electronics! I'll keep searching but if anyone has a camera in mind that kind of matches what I've described please let me know.
  24. £1300. Yes thats right, thirteen hundred pounds, I didn't accidentally add another 0 on there by mistake! Of which the camera is £860. Presumably it can see through walls and predict the future for that price. Will someone just wipe my bum for me and tell me where I can get a high quality camera from a reputable vendor? (for less then £860)

    wider rear tyres

I am looking at 285's on the rear but I already have a 25mm spacer so not sure of the implications of that. 285 without the spacer should be fine though according to the calculators I've seen.
