If Centrica want a decent customer service department then pay some proper money to give us, the customer, who, after all contribute to their profits a decent customer service level. Paying peanuts, gets you monkeys and that is ultimately disrespectful to the customer. Rant over fair point, I was more referring to the emailers poor use of English than saying the company should be using them. Agree with your rant.

Thanks, Scubapics, I'll make sure it's not a credit agreement, hopefully I will just have to sign something that says the state of the cars condition when I pick it up and then something to say how long I have it for, that I am liable for any damage cuased to it, and that it must be returned with a full tank of fuel etc. It is Saga that's dealing with it, that's the strange bit, they are putting me through to James at MotorPoint House or something to arrage it all. Literally I ring the direct number for Saga and they answer my questions and know all about it and then say "I see you have been dealing with our colleagues at MotorPoint House, let me put you through to them"

That seems odd. Why would your insurance company agree to insure a different and a hire car at that for nought? Something smells fishy and your insurance company will get a strong whiff of it as well in the process. Yeah that's where I'm a but concerned although the chap on the phone said that if the cover note from my insurer was needed then this wouldn't be able to be provided without my permission (data protection) and so he may need to do a 3 way call with him, my insurer and me to enable me to authorise it in which case I will be asking my insurer many questions to make sure I'm safe.

Ok, thanks for the heads up, any idea what I should be looking for in the small print? Or shall I just ask for proof of payment that the car hire providers should have from my neighbours insurance company?

Zed fronts have the aerodynamics of a brick wall and attract stone chips. So you have had the stone chips done to enhance your cars value. just hope a potential buyer would see it like that but then again I have this thread as evidence and I will ask the resprayer to say on the receipt that is was reprayed for minor damage to the wing and the rest was for stone chips.

Saga has arranged the hire car, they said I don't need to provide a credit card or anything like that as it is all taken care of, I asked if I would need to show my drivers licence and he said it would be a good idea but only for ID so I don't think I will get stung in that regard. However they said they will contact my insurance company for a cover note and I would be covered insurance wise in exactly the same regard as I am on my 350z which I thought was a little odd as when I travel and hire a car they provide all new and separate insurance.

Thanks Will, that was what I was thinking, I couldn't afford to replace the car if anything happened and the insurance refused to pay out. The only bit I'm thinking where there may be a little but of wiggle room is that I haven't made a claim and I haven't been involved in an accident, my car has without me.

Well just to give you all an update, my car is going in to VW on Wednesday to have the front offside wing (insurance paying), front bumper, bonnet, and near side wing resprayed (costing me £570) and I will be picking up a Porsche Boxster automatic as a hire car for the week. My neighbour chose to go through insurance as she then gets hers repaired too and hers is already in the garage getting done (mine was delayed as I had to go to the US for work). The chap who is oraganising everything from the insurance company said if he was me, he wouldn't bother telling my insurance company or declaring it when I come to renew my insurance as there will be no record of it anywhere except with Saga (the neighbours insurer), would you guys trust this? Also when I come to sell the car do you think people will try to knock money off for the front end respray? I guess people will look and think it's been in a bad smash but obviously it hasn't.

To be fair, judging by the name, English is probably their second language and so it's not a bad attempt. It also looks like spell check may have corrected a few of their words.

there's loads of info on the forum about these suspension noises if you search around. Most likely it will be the drop links or the bannana arm. To check the drop links just disconnect one end of both of the front ones and then take is for a drive and see if the noise has gone, if it hasn't then it will be the bannana arm bush.

Already done that a few months ago, I found no difference with it what so ever.

I've had this happening on my gearbox too, is the issue known to happen in the CD009 gearbox? I thought I had the latest and best for the DE engine. Alex - can you PM me some prices of a CD009 box if you have any please.

A bit of snow in Nottingham and it's still coming down. Question for you all - On my way home I had to turn on the snow so I turned off my traction control as I knew the car would struggle to grip. But when I was turning and the car started to slide the traction control kept kicking in, I could hear it braking on my front offside wheel. How can you completely disable the traction control?

If you feel let down then certainly complain direct to Nissan UK head office. If the work is beening carried out under warranty then definetly contact the UK head office. Also he is correct that they do not have to give you like for like but they are taking your car off the road for over a month which is ridiculous, you purchased the car to drive it because you wanted that car not a crappy little Micra or Juke

Don't accept that,if they are repairing it under warranty then tell them to get it repaired immediately and if they can't then tell them to give you either another Z or a GTR as a courtesy car. All warrany repairs should be conducted in a timely manner so if I was you I would cause a non agressive seen in the dealership whilst customers are around until they offer you something better than a months wait.

I paid £108.xx a few months ago all for V power, I intentionally ran the tank right down.

Yeah that's where I am torn, I haven't been very impressed with VW especially with him not looking for any underlying damage but if I take it to the private body shop then I don't know if the insurance will pay if any more damage is found.

Well below are the pics but they really don't show the damage very well although the damage wasn't particulary bad anyway. And the neighbours car £350 for a front end respray doesn't seem that cheap to me, it was the same price that Andy from CS quoted me for.

Well to give you all an update The insurance people rang Nissan and were infromed that they sub contracted out their body work to Volkswagen in West Bridgford in Nottingham and that I needed to pop down their for an estimate. So seeing as I pass the place to and from work I popped in on my way home today and the guy had a look and took some pictures and said he would let the insurance compnay know the price tomorrow. I also asked him to give me a personal quote to spray the front bumper, bonnet and the other wing at the same time (I don't want the one wing spraying when the whole front end is covered in stone chips, 90,000 miles and never been resprayed, as that will just look daft) So tomorrow I will find out the price for my additional work and then make a decision as to who to use although I was a bit annoyed that the VW guy didn't look for any further damage, he just looked at the obvious that could be seen from a mile away.

Yeah I thought it was a good price too but she didn't seem to think so although a 60 year old woman doesn't really know the price of car repairs

I think that's what I will do as I have no idea who Nissan will use for the re-spray and the independent sounded like he would do a good job and fix it if I wasn't happy.

ok so I got a quote from a local independant today (who Wanted recommended) and the price came in at a nice £175 for the front wing panel beaten and resprayed. I also spoke to him about having the whole front end sprayed at the same time (lots and lots of stone chips) and that came in at £350, so £175 from my neighbour and £175 from me. I showed the quote for just the wing to my neighbour and she was shocked at how much it was going to cost so chose to go through her SAGA insurance. Saga gave me a ring and said she had admitted liability and they would offer me a hire car that is at least equivelant to mine and gave me the option of sending the car to Nissan for repair or using a repairer of my choice. They are going to call me in the morning to find out me decision. What would you do? 1. Use Nissan to get the repairs done but I don't know who will do the actual spraying as the Nissan garage does not have the facilities 2. Use the local independant who has been recommended by Wanted and another 2 friends of mine but I can't personally vouch for his work (but the unit looked like he knew what he was doing and I have no reason to distrust him) Also I asked the Saga man on the phone if I needed to contact my insurance company and he said he wouldn't bother. He said normally it would be done through my insurance and then billed to Saga but in this instance because liability has already been admitted he said Saga was more then happy to just sort and pay for the repairs without contacting my insurance company - Does this sound legitimate?

Just say no ? say no to the snow coming or say there was no snow last night when every car and road in my area way covered albeit by only about 3mm
