  1. Running a full Cobra CBE so the matching HFC seems like the natural choice, but the ARK Helmholtz appears to have an interesting take on sonic tuning there. Anyne care to comment? Heard there can be fitment issues with the latter? Also what's the cheapest price on teh Cobra HFCs? £500?
  2. As per the title, are any aural improvements delivered by systems like the K&N Typhoon or Stillen Gen 3 Long intakes worth the £350-500 outlay? It's a lot of money for some tubes and filters! Some say the induction noise on the 3.7 is just fundametally crud and little can be done about it without dropping serious money on new headers & the like. Would be interested in hearing views (cue a dozen traders chiming in saying how brill they are!) What's the general power loss with the short ram versions? Not sure I want to cut holes in stuff for long tube intakes and I don't mind losing some ponies as they will be offset by HFC gains. Very difficult to tell any noticeable improvement on the numerous youtube vids out there...
  3. Don't forget the health insurance and adamantium endoskeleton.
  4. Thing is do you actually think the zed will be better with a supercharger? How do you know that, definitively? It's a lot of money, hassle and tweaking to add power to a base model that doesn't need it. I have both a DE 350 and 370 Nismo and TBH I think the lower BHP/Ton ratio of the 350 works better on the road. Even with much improved handling on the Nismo it's still difficult to drive over eight tenths, so think carefully before winding a 350z up to 400bhp. Patronising post over!
  5. ^^^THIS Definitely an armco repair invoice cash cow...
  6. Recent experience leasing and servicing a 370 via a main dealer was very frustrating. No rush to deal with them again...
  7. Schwedenkreuz is a killer!
  8. Great track for zed torque and gearing, you'll thoroughly enjoy it.
  9. Good zorst for low speed rumble but it does boom a bit at 3,000rpm / 80mph.
  10. Glad I got my 4 laps over and done with by 9am, was mental by then. Not sure I ever want to go back on the ring, unless it's an organised track day. Waaaay beyond my skill level and 98% of the drivers out there and simply not worth the risk any more (all macho b*llshit aside).
  11. I'm amazed novice drivers still take brunchen like that, as it's such a notoriously slippy part of the track. I was super ginger in the Nismo around there on Saturday - seen too many crashes in all types of vehicle to ever gun it through there. Hope the guys were OK though, potentially expensive bill if they weren't insured...
  12. Spoke to a few chappies in zeds at nurburgring on Friday and Saturday, good lads representing the tribe! At Calais after an awesome time at the spa classic. Great motoring week :-)
  13. Really enjoyed the previous gen mustang even though it was a heavy old beast and not built to a very high standard, just had like the simple charms of it. Great powerslider! 5.0 is a lot of thirst though, Nismo is bad enough...
  14. But the launch control isn't something you're likely to use regularly, unless you like spending £25k on gearboxes for a living?
  15. Evora NA with long ratio gearbox although will it be reliable? Depends if you deal with the niggles and 3k clutch changes. Otherwise a 997 C4 or Mazzer Granturismo?
  16. Lovely powertrain but just can't abide those C class looks and autobox. Also hired the E63s for an hour around Brooklands and the torque was immense, made the zed feel gutless afterwards! Drowning in electronics though and you need a degree to operate it.
  17. As per the above, had to remove some week old bird doo which has left some pretty seriously scarring on teh paintwork in an obvious place. What the best remedy for correcting this? And yes I will avoid try to park under a bird loo ever again...
  18. On a recent trip involving a sleeping bag in the boot and pillows on the passenger seat, road noise was pleasantly reduced. And no, this wasn't a case of my girlfriend kicking me out! Arguably not a long-term noise management solution...

I just use a set of headphone earbuds with the cable cut off if I need peace and quiet. 3 quid and much more effective!
  20. Bubble? GT3 RS build slots going for £100k over list? Nah, market's severely depressed, great time to buy, going ballistic anytime soon...
  21. (Had to chip in with my baby too)
  22. A used 458 will probably be very carefully maintained and prepped to look brand spanking new in the showroom. We aren't talking Barry'd Novas here. They'll be immaculately presented at this level.
  23. I get your point, but none of the above will be 100,000 milers though.
