  1. Each one has his or her own name and personality....
  2. a) Yes. Yes it is. But, 2) my driveway isn't flat, so when I say a particular order I mean I always start at the wheel most downhill, whichever way the car is parked - that way I'm not kneeling in water. And, c) I'm just weird. Suck it.
  3. Drying the wheels? Well I've heard of everything now... I don't dry my car these days, I use filtered water for the final rinse. If I did the wheels last, the surrounding panels (the horizontal ones at least) would be dry by then. If I waited until after the wheels to do the final rinse there'd be waterspots everywhere. I'm not fussed about waterspots on the wheels though, the silver hides them a lot better than the blue. I didn't mean to suggest you guys were doing it wrong or anything, merely explaining my reasons for starting with the wheels.
  4. It depends what they're trying to achieve. If they're trying to hide the fact they've bought a Nissan then it'll always be a Nissan! Also, it's no worse than the Veilside kits...
  5. I also do the wheels in a very specific order... partially because I'm a bit "special" but more so for the other reason not to do the wheels last; to avoid kneeling in puddles!
  6. I always do wheels first because of the pressure washer. The last rinse of the wheels is always with the pressure washer (otherwise I always, always, miss bits on the wheels) which at best means water on the pristine clean and dry paintwork. At worst it's all the filth from the wheels splattered all over the nice clean paintwork meaning you have to start again. I always do the wheels (and exhaust) first then start with on the paintwork with snow foam.
  7. Well at the very least this prompted me to check with a Korean colleague; it's somewhere between "jian" and "j-eye-n". Apparently. Now I know. And will probably continue to mis-pronounce it anyway.
  8. Still not watched the video (and still no idea how to pronounce Gyeon) but if Car Chem doesn't win, he's wrong.
  9. Wash, rinse & wheels typically. Given how filthy wheels can be it's a good idea to have separate water just for the wheels. But then you could even go 4 buckets... ...Or change the water & rinse out the bucket before moving onto the paint. (I use 3 buckets. And separate wash mitts too).
  10. The world is doomed... Dan has become the voice of reason!!
  11. Even though it’s become more difficult to get hold of; AutoSmart Tardis. [/thread]
  12. I'm going to hazard a guess at "sudsiest", "best cleaner" and "other". Other being how well it does it's other job (adding protection or stripping protection)?
  13. Right there on the left, between CarChem & GTechniq.
  14. Depends what you mean by "best". From the thumbnail, there's a number of different products in there designed to do very different things (in addition to just clean). So before I place any bets (or watch the video) I'd like "best" to be defined, please.
  15. Not all of us can afford such opulent luxuries you know.
  16. So.... erm... does this make me a published author now? http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=409952 http://car-chem.com/store/information/news&news_id=109 And, of course; https://waxandshine.co.uk/wash-guide
  17. Oh I completely agree that if it’s a common issue then it should be made more widely known, but if they’re actually telling you how to use their products you can’t really sulk about it when you misuse them. As Jetpilot says, you send it back before fitting it if the warning is in the paperwork. You’ve mentioned other carbon products from different manufacturers fading as well, how come you have named and shamed those as well? How come it’s just Seibon that’s in your sights?
  18. Pretty much any glass coating will give UV protection for the life of the product, however given the comment about not painting carbon fibre (which I'm not going to pretend to understand as I thought there were a number entirely carbon fibre cars wearing OEM paint being manufactured since the '80's?? ) how coatings would bond the gel coat.
  19. So which is it? Either they tell you or they don’t and if they tell you it’s on you. If they don’t then that’s a different matter, but you’ve now said (twice) that they do so the simplest solution is not to buy from them anymore, surely?
  20. No, instead you make an informed decision about whether to buy the product knowing up front to keep it out of sunlight. If you can’t and/or unwilling to keep it out of sunlight, you don’t buy it. The other manufacturers items that you have that have faded, even slightly, did any of them state upfront that their products would fade?
  21. I suspect it's more a "because we can" thing...
  22. I think I'd go with a slightly different, more streamlined technique myself: 1. Look at wheels to see if they're dirty. 2. Realise that you're now looking directly at them, that they're f***ing hideous, then quickly rip them off the damn car and chuck them in the bin. 3. Sell/abandon the car. You clearly can't be trusted with the responsibility if you bought those wheels in the first place. Plus you probably shouldn't be driving anyway given your obvious medical infliction.
  23. Keyser's also breaking a Z at the moment too, so might be worth dropping him a message too.
