Hi Chaps, Are there any common issues that can impact fuel economy? I currently get around 17. This is around town but in no way hammering it everwhere. I tend to change up at 3k revs tops, other than perhaps 1 or 2 full blips of the throttle in a given journey, which I only do when the car is warm I was going to try the throttle adaptation and ECU reset as I am aware the car was sat for quite a while before I took ownership. I'll do this tomorrow/Fri. For ref my average speed is 15mph and I have a 1h15m each way commute from Harrow to Heathrow every morning. As such I'm not ruling out the mpg as being normal given the commute I do. Any opinions?

Hi Guys. I've got a set of Vredestein Wintrac Xtremes in 225/45/17 size fitment. If I put these straight onto a set of 17" ers (which should ideally take 225/50/17 and 235/50/17) then I'll be 3.4% out at the front (too fast, IE 60 will be 58 or so) and 4.9% out at the back (too fast again, IE 60 will be 57 or so) My average speed will be out by the mean of those numbers IE 4.15% 2 questions: Will a 225/45 go on the rear 17 do you think? I know front will not be a problem but not 100% about the rear. I've got a friendly tyre shop so can always just give it a try Also will the CC be OK with this kind of number? I'd really rather not buy new tyres. The alternative would be I guess to just buy rears and go for 245/50 which would be 1.6% too slow and therefore bring the overall speed difference back down to around 2% which I'm certain will be OK. Cheers chaps. I'd be inclined to just accept the Management light for the sake of safe driving over winter: Although I've heard if this is on too long then you get shunted into limp mode etc

Yeah I live in an E rated postcode.. 7 miles from central. If I set postcode to hampshire my insurance goes down by 40%!!

afaik: xenons are standard. bi-xenon means there's two xenon's per side usually meaning full beam also a xenon bulb.

You can put that up for 8k easilly. Looking at autotrader the lowest GTs are just under 8 and with much higher mileage.

ridiculously cheap for an 06. That's the going rate for a 53/04 GT. Should be in the 10s. ALTHOUGH. people are cottoning on to the top rate of tax being 450 on an '06 versus 260 on a '55. Does mean the 06s are less desirable than 05/55 cars now from my experience when hunting for mine?

I have noticed a remarkable number of tailgaters trying to get me to race them when compared to the BM. And I tend to drive above the limit slightly, so it's not as theyre annoyed at going slowly. This is one negative side affect of driving a performance car personally. Everyone wants to race you.

Agreed. As such the quotes coming from confused were totally shite. They looked it up and said it was import. But quidco compare and compare the market had it correctly as a UK car. CTM therefore 300 cheaper from Admiral compared to confused! Very silly Must be something on the older cars..

It's OPEC not .gov causing the problems. The price of a barrel is 45% cheaper than it's peak rate and yet petrol prices have not gone down AT ALL. It's f*cking disgraceful that a group of companies can blatently flout the competitions laws so absolutely, and that no one has the power to do anything about it. Shell making 7bn profit whilst tax is frozen. Ridiculous. Admittedly we pay alot of duty, but that hasn't dramatically changed recently and yet the fuel costs keep rising and rising. It's OPEC we need to look at. As such only point 3 on that petition is really valid, but feck it - I've signed it anyway. It won't make a difference most likely but getting some press coverage of this issue can't be a bad thing at the very least... Dave

I feel sorry for the 1M being put up against such hypercar royalty. The 1M is an absolutely brilliant car for the money but a car with 300 bhp is never going to keep up with the likes of a Z06, IS-F, murc, 458 etc etc... Could have put the M5 in which would have faired a little better imho (although it'd still get whooped) Awesome drag race though. SO MUCH money there..

Rear quarters look OK so shouldn't be too much trouble getting insurance to cover it which is the positive Glad it wasn't too serious...

Was under that impression from previous advice received. Just googled. can't verify. Therefore almost certainly wrong. Retracted. Although the limiter / insurance points are valid!

Dear god.. Just tried and failed! The spindle you need to twist is VERY RESISTANT. My pliers weren't good enough, or my puny grip was too puny. On the plus side the lock nut was very easy to break off, don't see the need for the screwdriver. The biggest issue with this by far is how akward it is. Trying to push the brake pedal in with my head so I can see up to the U shaped bit. It's a great guide, I just need better toothed pliers to try it again
