sounds like a scam dude, had a few triers the same when looking for my Zed. Ask them for a land line number you can phone them on at a certain time and watch the excuses start rolling in... Or ask them for the postcode where the car is as you 'have a friend in Thurso who wants to check the car over first' and again wait for the excuses!

thanks mate! next problem is my OBD port is missing (!) so can't connect anything going to pull that side of the car out tonight to see if it's been tucked away... Are any of the above numebrs actualyl written on the ECU as I can get to that fairly easily

not really, partly hence this question! the paperwork and VIN says JDM but everything else says UK so if it is a JDM then it seems lots has been changed to make it look like a UK car

cheers, haven't managed to test out the limiter yet but wondering if there were any visible differences on the ECU. Mine has MY Nissan writen on it on first glance?

Do the JDM and UK models have different ECU's? if so can you tell by any stickers / markings on the outside? still trying to figure out how much has been chanegd on my import as most stuff seems to be UK (apart from the VIN no and V5)

OK thanks guys, looks like it's missing in action!!! there's nothing dangling around the back nearby that could reach the hole? very strange! will have to take the plastic off and have a look at everything behind incase it's been hidden or tucked away! Job for the weekend i think...

I'd read about the JOBD but wanted to check it was there before buying a throttle controller but not point having one if there's nothing to plug it into!

not sure if I'm losing the plot here but had a quick look for my OBD socket and it appears there isn't one? Had a look for it under the fuel cap opener button?? there's a hole but no connector? Unless I'm being really stupid and looking in the wrong place? I think the car is an import if that makes a difference? pics of offending hole here:

Just tried that guide and it goes in and out of registration mode but the spare key doesn't get coded?think mine is an import if that makes a difference? does all the right things for entering and leaving registration mode though according to that guide just doesnt code the key? Tried it a few times with spare and proper key in ignition? new battery as well???

I need to replace a lost key for my 57 plate UK Zed and was just going to buy a replacement off eBay the same as others have done. However, I can't seem to find an answer to the question asked by kazman, do you need to go through the process with both the original working key and the new one or just the new one? Anyone work it out? anyone done this before I replace the battery on my spare key tommorow so I've got two? Don't fancy wiping the only one I've got!
