  1. yep, will 'let this one go' I think! No point paying loads for a pain in the butt one!
  2. Here's the link: http://autotrader.co.uk/classified/adve ... ?logcode=p Isn't too far from me so will give him another call and see what proof there is of repair etc. As you say though there are plenty of others out there so no point rushing into one that could be a pain. Insurance is bad enough for me anyway in my lovely postcode so don't want to give them any more reasons to charge more!
  3. I'd agree that if you're not in a rush leave it as is and try and sell as a whole. I know after spending years doing up cheaper cars I'd rather pay the extra and buy it already done now! And it looks lovely as it is at the moment!
  4. Been looking a getting a Zed and have found one where he might trade in my current car so is pretty attractive. the Zed is a cat C write off though. I need to speak to him later to see if he has any paperwork to show it was repaired properly etc. getting the feeling it is a bit expensive considering this though? 2005 with 64,00 miles, rest of it is apparently spot on. Has anyone had problems insuring a Cat C write off? I know it will affect resale values so my head is saying steer clear, even if it's the easier option. Also there are straight ones out there for roughly the same price. Generally how much would be fair to expect off? Thanks! michael
  5. Good. Feel really sorry for the people who got conned with these things! Someone like my dad who knows not too much about the internet would probably quite trustingly get ripped off by these scumbags!
  6. OK, cool, just wonder if this wonderful man in germany actually owns it then or if he's borrowed the pics from someone else.
  7. No problem, you should get some decent money for it. What skyline did you get?
  8. Send a PM to "EH 370". He'll be able to do a HPI check for free for us. Or you can drop me a PM with it, and I'll text Toby in the morning and get him to do it straight away and I'll post up the results. cool, will pm you now.
  9. thanks mate, yeah that S14 was a good looker but was auto so not that fun to drive. You've got a very ncoie looking Zed! Highly doubt I'll sell my MX5 before that goes but let me know if you wanted an MX5 as px either way good luck with the sale!
  10. edit: seems the guys has been fairly busy and uses a few email address or he's just nicked this guys photos and reg number http://russianmind.com/content/nissan-350z http://www.auto4you.co.uk/index.cfm?pag ... rid=210216 http://www.auto4you.co.uk/vehicleprint.cfm?carid=210216 http://www.thecarexchange.co.uk/car_sal ... p?ID=43532
  11. Ah Ok, well just incase YU54ZPR the reg might be in this sentence somewhere.
  12. He's sent me the reg but nt sure what to do with it? And yes I remember that episode!
  13. he's telling me now it's sealed in a container so no way to see it. Not sure what else to ask so might be time to leave him hanging
  14. just to update, he's replied and wants to do the deal through Ebay motors... plenty of info via google searching on Ebay Motor scams. Have asked him where in Germany the car is as I have a few friends who can go and view it for me actually I must have better things to do than this! Just interesting how they try it on and how easily genuine people do get scammed
  15. vaguely looking for a Zed and found this too cheap to be true one: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3185511.htm thought I'd have a laugh, phone number didn't work so sent him a mail. Quick response saying the car is a UK car but is in Germany but he can deliver to me for £2500 thought I'd play along and asked if he can take full cash on delivery and send me the reg before.... I'm sure he'll need a *small* deposit to bring it over though let's see what excuses he gives for needing a deposit first.
  16. Thanks again guys, yes wife has good taste! In an ideal world I'd like a black Zed but the condition etc is more important. they look pretty good in all colours anyway! thought I'd stick some photos up of previous cars as pictures speak a thousand words! the one that started the modified car bug: old banger 200sx S13. I learnt lots about modding with this one! cheap and cheerful: After a while I got a loan and px'd it for this S14a: not very modified but nice low miler. Got bored of it (again) so sold it to a guy at Apex in Bradford and it's now got a V8 in it! With the sales money I paid the loan off and got a 1.6 MX5.... got bored of no power very quick so got another S13 (no pics). Six months later sold that and got an S14 that had a GT2871 strapped to it!: thing went like something off a shovel but TOO fast for everyday use. Had nothing then when turbo spooled up it took off somewhere! After that I got an Aristo - big and pimp with a lovely engine (2JZ GTE, straight 6 twin turbo) but stupid costs to run - 14mpg and most parts are import or same as a Supra so very expensive. This had to be sold as I didn't own shares in an oil rich state so then I went back into an MX5, this time it had to be more poweful so a turbo one became mine! I bought it nearly 'finished' but have had the mapping done properly and added some wheels and a cage etc. Once again I've got the bug for a new car (350Z) so the mazda is up for sale and then time for a Zed. Think the sale might take a while as car market isn't particularly good and I'd rather wait for the price I want than sell for peanuts! plenty of time to research and get a decent Zed though. I've also got a old Corsa for everyday so no stress.
  17. Hello from London! I normally wait until I've actually got the car before joining a forum but never mind. My Mrs has decided she likes 350's and I'm not going to argue so my current car went up for sale yesterday. I will resist buying a zed until this is sold as I;ve done it before and was too stressful! Once it sells I'll get a pre 06 UK GT Zed. Car history: bug for 'proper cars' started with an old banger auto 200SX S13, then got an auto S14, then another old banger S13 then another S14 which was tuned up to over 400bhp. lots of power but too quick and scary for the roads. Then I got a Toyota Aristo which has the same 2JZ GTE as the twin turbo Supras, gerat engine and great car but too juicy (14mpg!!!) Sold that an got a turbo MK1 MX5 which is running 200bhp and is lots of fun. Always liked Zeds though and are affordable for me now so time to change again. Looking forward to something more odern and comfortable but not the fuel or cost of tyres! The engine note on the Aristo was amazing though (straight six, decat) so looking forward to another meaty tone once i get a Zed! think that's enough for now! Will post more when i need to! Michael
