  1. hhaha nothing wrong with Redneck stickers (joke stickers from a holiday last year in the South) mine may well be an import or half an import or something else! hence me thinking it was a UK car that had been exported and then reimported from elsewhere? doesn't expalin the JDM VIN though? someone may have made a balls up somewhere, maybe the lovely DVLA or previous owners moons ago. rest is all kosher so will be a mystery car! will have a check of terminals and stickers later to confuse myself further! and yes think it will be confusing by the time i sell it, though by that time petrol might be so expensive / these cars so cheap that the buyer won't care about history as it will have to be sold for dirt cheap anyway...
  2. yeah somethings amiss! the export / reimport was me guessing what had gone on but may now be completely wrong!! will try to get to the bottom of it but not sure how? wat does your VIN start with?
  3. hhhmmm they don't look particuraly normal but i like a challenge! will let you know if and when i conquer them!
  4. I've told them I'm not sure and they've done it by the reg so should be OK. Have swapped to Sky when it runs out next month so will see what they say on the documents when they come through. Thanks for warning though as will be an important thing to check!
  5. aha, that explains why I didn't see you. yes trying to arrange a meet but seems slow going? there's a thread that you can put any dates you can make: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=53975
  6. yeah I'm probably worrying for nothing as its the most I've ever paid for a car! I enjoy it and can't think of any reason why it could 'not' be mine so will enjoy! jumping, which was round are UK terminals? has a new halfords battery so should be UK unless the connectors have been streched over. let me know what your import VIN starts with. Maybe the plot will thicken even more!
  7. hhmmm lots of possibilities then! maybe I'll never know! something doesn't add up but as long as it doesn't have finance to pay or isn't stolen or written off guess it doesn't really matter?
  8. That would be me on the way to work! were you in a Zed? didn't notice any others but then i was rushing to work
  9. yes it has cruise control, only stickers that have any Japanese on them are the airbox one (pictures) and the one about golf clubs in the back. all the pod readings are miles / mpg etc?? the VIN no starts with Z33... so does that indicate an import?
  10. well here's some pics of inside and engine. I'm totally confused as to if it's an import or not now??? hoping it is as thats makes more sense in a way but means a couple of stamps in the service book can't be too accurate
  11. feck, forgot about those bulbs! will wait til i get the latest lot then do a mop up order
  12. yeah just read that thread!!! will check them first and not use if so! don't fancy shorting the BCM! thanks for warning
  13. will get some pics up tommorow. getting paranoid now just checked it all over and all seems to be UK, Vin starts with Z33 though. If it is an import as this suggests then someones changed absolutely everything over only Jap writing I could find was a bit about golf clubs in the back, rest is english, french (?) and german. GM all over (inside and out) and log book says silver? All VINS match so if it is an import the only bit that could be dodgy are the service stamps for 03 and 04 as it shows as registered in 05? (no stamp for 05 though which is why i thought it was reimported then.) Anyway, isn't registered as stolen, with finance or written off so worst can be it is an import which I don't mind. (or have I missed something else?) Has paperwork for full P3 service in June anyway but will give it a full check over. and it's got the Nissan owners manual printed in 05 with it...
  14. cool, guess the VIN is wrong then? defo a UK car unless they've changed both bumpers, clocks, and added all the GT pack stuff. Was made in 2003 though is on a 52 plate. Looking at the history it was exported outside EU and then reimported back in 2005 which might explain the plate?? they can use 52 for between sept 2002 and april 2003. Edit, just to say it was HPI checked through EH307 and no damage on that?? the VIN no's all match as does the history. edit, also to say that it has had a new rear bumper as previous owner claimed through his insurance as someone scraped it in a supermarket and drove off!
  15. guess the VIN plate is wrong then or it's been resprayed at some time which would seem a bit pointless? The VIN No. on the plate matches the one on the firewall and all the paperwork so nothing dodgy that i can think off?
  16. that's what I thought when I bought it? here's one in the sun stolen from the advert:
  17. had the car a few weeks now and despite promising myself I would leave as standard have already ditched that Ordered and fitted these for the rear numberplate: http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/501194t10-anti-bulb-warning-xenon-white-wide-angle-p-2085.html these for the front sidelights: http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/501t10194-ceramic-watt-ultra-xenon-white-p-2395.html which i fitted without taking the wheels or whole arch liner out (just one screw, pulled the cover back and used long nose pliers) so the outside is looking nice and modern. just ordered these for the inside cabin lights: http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/high-brightness-xenon-white-smts-bulb-p-2392.html and this for the boot light:http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/501194t10-mini-light-tower-leds-xenon-white-original-p-2191.html Hope it fits inside casing and isn't too long! should be fine as long as I can get it into holder. Time to see if there are any front indicator bulbs I can get now
  18. had a look at the code on the VIN plate in the engine bay and it gives the code for Blade Silver (KY0) Car in the metal looks to me to be GM Grey as i didn't buy a silver one as prefer the grey?? and some more pics here from the FS advert: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3171864.htm
  19. Got a shed with my dad a couple of years ago (Corsa 1.2), paid £900 for it and have spent very little on it since... Insurance is cheap (thanks to my dad) and running costs minmial. Perfect for driving round town and when i need more seats. If anything major goes wrong with it I'll take in to the scrapyard!
  20. just back from holiday in France where it was 30C to a nice warm England (cold and wet when I left) so double extra bit of sumer for me! was resigned to autumn so is a lovely surprise. Might even wash and polish the car over the weekend. Enjoying air con as well
  21. I've always bought private and had no major problems yet, just made sure I've checked them properly first! And is worth travelling if you can as well. Check the For Sale section on here as you can at least check some of the history.
  22. cheers thanks for confirmation, pm being sent
