Wow that is one shiny zed! Black definitely comes up best when properly washed!
-
im happy! Gives me a excuse to buy some Momentum 99 which is my preferred fuel for the zed!

you arent being a knob at all - its bang out of order! Trying to fob you off with a cheap tyre which clearly isnt suitable. They should consider themselves lucky that you didnt have bridgestones on, they're 80% more expensive again. and to be honest, the company doing the repairs arent the ones footing the bill, so why do they care? If my car was repaired by insurance, id expect it to be returned washed and waxed, and with like for like parts, otherwise the repairers arent doing their job properly, and thus the insurance company isn't holding up their end of the deal. After all, we pay through the nose for insurance , so when we do need it they damn well better do a decent job of it! And theres never an excuse for rudeness. Big thumbs down from me what was the garage? Name and shame my friend!

it'd depend on your target figures - if you're shooting for 300bhp, then NA tuning is the cheaper alternative. if its 400bhp you're aiming for, you're probably looking at a FI setup, although it is just about doable with NA tuning. Anywhere north of there you'd have to go FI. If it was me and money was no object, id go for the full NA tuning route - wilder cams, high compression pistons, overbored block, longer stroke crankshaft and ITRs - just because it would be the nicer engine to drive. Personally i'm not a huge fan of turbo conversions... either big load of midrange torque which tails off if the turbo is too small to keep airflow at high rpm, or a laggy dinnerplate turbo which does nothing at low and mid rpm, but then gives a mahoosive hit when it kicks in. Personally i'd rather have a well sorted NA engine than a turbo'd engine that made the same power... not trying to be awkward, just keen on the merits of both! Just look at the difference between the BMW M54B30 engine which is a 3litre NA engine making 228bhp, and the S54B32, which is a 3.2litre NA engine making 338bhp!

ah just read this a little more thoroughly... there was me thinking it was buying a single product and getting a voucher, but in most cases its buying 3 or 4 to get one voucher lol which isnt quite so good....
-
i'd go for the beemer gets garaged, cos its brand new, worth a lot more than the zed and more likely to get nicked.
-
nice one! looks like it will be a load of Tommy K, some coffee and some squash! Looks like i'll be making a trip to Tescos tomorrow lunchtime!
-
Your Cooper S is FI, a Z is not. NA tuning is pointlesst I wouldn't say pointless.... its just considerably more expensive to get any decent power gains than going down the FI route.

Supercharged Z With better pics this time!
brillomaster replied to tprice's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
Good luck with the sale! Couple of years down the line i'd be all over a supercharged zed like a rash However I would ditch the mahoosive wing... looks so out of place imo... despite reading the advert, it just wouldn't fill me with confidence seeing that wing on it, its too fast and furious looking! For the sake of a few bolts i'd swap the boot back over so potential buyers are concentrating on the strengths of the engine mods and not the styling mods -
just watched the video on bbc... looks to me that vettel was ahead coming out of the corner, so button should have conceded the place. obviously if someone tries to dive up the inside and doesnt get alongside, they should back out of the move, but it looked to me that vettel was in front of button, so button should have slowed down to give vettel room on the exit. vettel did the right thing by giving room to button, who looked to be a bit out of shape on the exit.

sounds like a plan! i'll get the ball rolling with a couple of quid On a serious note it is a bit alarming that the UKs most prestigious track is having financial troubles... not good for UK motorsport...

Bit of a thread resurrect here, and its not American dad... Just watching 2Fast2Furious on itv2 at the mo (EPIC film lol) and just at the bit when Brian and Rome go to ludacris' quayside garage, and what car is Devon Aoki designing a paint job for? yes its a 350z - on screen for all of a second! Found a clip to back it up - 34 seconds in Do i get extra brownie points for it not even being a car, but merely a drawing of it?
-
this started well, but then went downhill somewhat! to the OP, if you want extra horses from a zed, the tried and tested route is a plenum spacer, high flow cats and an uprev, as the first two are the most restrictive and then the uprev to make everything work optimally.
-
definitely the lambo! The fezza is seriously getting on a bit, and the aston is only going to feel a bit quicker than a zed... it hasnt even got 400bhp, wheras the lambo is well north of 500. Plus the V10...

*off topic* Now heres clearly the correct fitment for a zed... might require some (a lot of) arch work... surely the perfect wheel for a zed? *off topic*
-
wow, that is a good site Buster! havent seen a wheel calculator that gives a diagramatic representation of the offset against the hub as well, good find!

Mint 18 inch ROTA torques, BRIDE floormats, TOYO tyres
brillomaster replied to fred-z33's topic in For Sale
I feel obliged to say in case someone nearly makes an honest mistake... the tyres are not the standard size for the zed, the profile is quite a bit lower. Standard fitment is 225/45/18 and 245/45/18 for zed - if you put these rears on without changing the fronts, the tcs will throw a hissy fit -
£8k seems a tad steep for me for an 04... i paid £6.8k for a 53 plate with 41k on the clock, same spec as that... i'd say £7-7.5 if its mint throughout. Check the stereo and the electric windows, they're common areas to fail.
-
Hmmm its going to have to do some convincing to win me over from the Zonda, which was a brilliant brilliant car...
-
hahah yeah im glad i found that little fix after my drivers side window got stuck down. Now i just dont use it at all, which does make getting a ticket for multi storey carparks fun. However if i get a new exhaust i might risk putting the window down so i can here the exhaust in stereo (the passengers side still works fine, but that has probably only had 10% of the opening and closing that the drivers side has had)

Wow and more wow guys! Some decent space age pics of zedley offshore... love the ones of him in the hub and in the shaft, proper little adventurer. And then the alps - bringing back very many happy memories there, glad to see zedley is wearing his helmet! Although a bit concerned that after a drop of coke hes gone a bit loopy and started abusing the glass... spose he is only tiny and cant take his drink!
-
nah, just aware you're wanting a change! tbh they could do with a refurb, so get them done in anthracite... they'll be unique!
-
Mmmm someone definitely needs to buy them! Wasso?
-
that looks like some serious arch work you've done there! what wheels and offsets are you running?
