I have recently been into Abbey MS and had a remap done (as you said otherwise not worth changing exhaust etc). That really made the difference to power delivery but having changed back to the std air box , Hf panel and velocity stack the higher rev induction noise is greatly reduced (ignoring exhaust noise).
Dont get me wrong though i F***ing love the bark when you step on it with the set-up i have now but its taken a little while to get there
Its not a typhoon i have, but ill send you some pics when i get home.
As for noise etc. im now running with decats and MD XYZ y-pipe which really is noisy but i think for engine sound the induction kit sound brilliant. As i said i put it on a stdard car and loved every minuted of it
Exhaust sound on a full decat system is something else though and i ended up putting the HFC back in the XYZ y-pipe 'cos stright throught was just too much for me
Also I didn't think it was hard to fit really. only took hour or so and I'm happy to lend a hand if anyone needs it.
Hi Jake,
I'm going to be putting my K & N induction kit up for sale, PM me if your interested and i can sort some details for you. This was my first mod on my car when it was stock and the sound is brilliant
Cheers,
Greg
Passed a red 350 about 4pm on M3 near Hook. I think you had a black roof and Nismo bumper, 53 plate. Sorry I could hang around though I'd already driven for 10 minutes in the wrong direction
I was in at Abbey on Tuesday afternoon getting UpRev on the Z. What a great place - so many awesome Skylines and other 350's
Clown, i shared the sofa with one sleeping dog but i think the other got jealouse as there wasnt much space left
Cracking job though guys Sat in with Mark whilst he tuned it and its Running sweet now
I'll post up the result soon as I get sorted.
Thanks
One of my mates had an exige and the only two complaints he had were:
1) It cost a lot in fuel as he couldnt keep his foot off the accelerator becuase it was too much fun
2) He only had it a few months because he ended up with back pain from the seating position and getting in and out. He basically had to commando roll out of it in the end
It really is a seriously cool car though, go-kart for the road!
Well I know that now but what really annoys me is that most websites with a bulb finder say they are the ones to get...
So the second lot are correct for front and rear?
Having trawled the forum and finally decided to go for silvatec i have one question about indicator bulbs in general;
How have I ended up buying these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-Front- ... 1105wt_689
When I should have bought these:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-Indica ... _798wt_689
???
Have I totally missed something or is there two variants?
I used various websites, putting in my reg# and I keep getting told 581 Offset pin type indicator bulbs but they are blatantly meant to be the BU582 T20 Capless Wedge type. Normally I can work this stuff out but I'm really stuck lol
Cheers
For ref its a '53 plate
Well Im not going to get rid of any of the motor etc. so if it was causing problems I could just put it back on. Tbh I didn't even consider it but I'm don't think it will be a major issue
Easy to do;
Interior trim just unclips but does require a bit of force and confidence then I think there was 3 screws holding the motor to the bootlid. The wiper arm has a cover on the outside where it rotates, lift that up and unscrew the nut. Again you need to be quite forceful to get the wiper off but just make sure you use a cloth or something to protect the paint. I think I wrapped a screw driver in a cloth to use as a lever.
I got a pack of grommets from halfords for a couple of quid. I think it was a 19mm gromet I used in the end.
Smudgedon - where abouts in Surrey are you? If you local to me I'll happily give you a hand?
XYZ pipe received.
This may sound like eBay feedback but I just wanted to say it was a pleasure dealing with you. Nicely packed and next day delivery.
Thanks very much.
I'll post some piccys when I get a chance to install it
Cheers
Just a quick one to say thanks to Jez. Ordered the engine upgrade pack 1 - plenum spacer and decat pipes. Well wrapped, excellent communication and the misses enjoyed the lolly that was tucked away in the bubble wrap
Cheers, keep up the good work!
