To be fair you are normally hooning away from me on the drives so i only get to see the back of your 370 on the road (it does like good tho, and sounds lovely with the Stillen) I really didn't notice any dis-colouring on your bumpers, and i was up-close with your car when we were washing them in Wales last year. I can only assume any dis-colouration on your car is minimal Colin compared to others? (I'll be looking VERY closely in May!) From pictures I've seen I think Colin's car is one of those with a pretty good match. I posted a link to a Nismo for sale on Autotrader a while back which had one of the worst rear bumper matches I've seen. I'll see if I can find it.

Movies you've just seen ~ recommended ~ hated.
sipar69 replied to GMballistic's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Sightseers A very unusual British made Black Comedy. If you only like big budget action films etc you'll hate it. If you are open to quirky films as well as more mainstream stuff....defo recommended. -
Awwwww. Hope they find a good home for her.

Ahhh emails, so useful, but the cause of so much strife. I'm quite careful with how I express myself in writing, as it's a skill I need in my job. Nevertheless, one thing I've learnt is that if you have a difficult message to deliver it's almost invariably better given in person or over the phone. If you need a record, you can always follow with an email, but in my experience people take things much better in person, or at least verbally.

I used to get very wound up by this on my first 370 and posted about it. My experiences have been: GT Ultimate (storm white) - Very poor rear bumper match; less so on the front but not great. Black Edition (Quartz) - excellent match on both bumpers Nismo (storm white) - slightly noticeable difference, but much better than first car I was once told it relates to the way paint 'sits' differently on plastic and metal, but that doesn't really explain why some white 370s have a much better/worse match than others. This appears to be a particular issue on the shade of white used on our 370s. If you look at other makes of car in white, this doesn't seem to be such an issue. The real challenge comes if you get a bumper scrape, as it will be much harder to create a perfect match on the repair, especially if the paint has to be blended into the surrounding panels. I am so conscious of this now that checking the match was one of the things I did before putting money down on the Nismo. Pictures don't help a great deal as you need to see the cars in the flesh, but here's a couple of rear bumper shots of my previous and crurrent cars.

Cheers Kris. Think I'll go the same route.

Hey Kris, So do you feel it was worth the cost for the improvement in sound? Are we talking deeper overall or just louder when you give it some revs? Thanks for the offer of a listen but I'm quite far from you unfortunately
-
Is that on a 370?
-
Ok cheers for the heads up

Very nice car. I wasn't sold on the rag top but the coupe is seriously nice.

Thanks Darren. I know that Will had some issues with Berks and Stillen. Have you seen the same problem with other exhausts? I was quite warming to the idea of some Berks but not sure I want all the hassle of dealing vibration problems....

Thanks.

Would they still offer improved sound?
-
Thanks chaps. Tarmac - I thought I remembered someone saying they'd got a set to put on the Nismo - must have been him - but I'm not sure if he's on the forum very often. Perhaps I'll end up being the guinea pig

As per the title - interested to know if anyone has done this yet and what the results have been - especially sound wise. I like the Nismo cat back but would like to give it a bit more volume without going mad or replacing the whole system. (Although I do like the look for the Invidia Gemini for the price) Will has kindly offered to have a chat about his experiences of HFCs on the 350 and 370 which I will be taking up, but any other thoughts also gratefully received. Looking at the US forums, opinions seems to differ on how much HFCs do for the Nismo. Will I get a general increase in volume, or just more volume at higher revs etc...etc Cheers

As per the above post, it's very common for dealers to be totally clueless about which version of the 370 they're selling. In addition to the GT v GT Edition errors, I've seen black GTs advertised as Black Editions.

Rent a house and spend the deposit on a 370 Only in the UK are we so obsessed with home ownership. Other parts of Europe it's quite normal to rent (although to be fair, rents elsewhere aren't so crazy expensive). It's the thought of how much I've spent on rent over the years, which could now be equity if I'd gotten it sorted sooner. As you say rents are crazy right now, 25-50% more than a mortgage payment. Also with prices being "low", it's just a sensible time and a sensible thing to do now I'm at sensible age (30+). If I've got to do one sensible thing, once in my life, this seems like the right one - so long as it has a large Zed house on the side. Makes sense. I can totally see the point of owning from some perspectives and I'll probably take the plunge myself one day (my other half already owns a place, which we rent out). I guess it depends on everyone's personal circumstances. Living in London, we could buy a place but it probably wouldn't be as nice as the place we rent or it would be in an area where the Z wouldn't survive for very long! It does seems that there is a lot of implicit pressure on people to buy property in this country and renting is somehow seen as second class option - bit like you're a failure because you don't own a place, which isn't the case in other countries.

I can always think of something clever or funny I should have done in response to people acting like morons. Trouble is I don't think of it until about half an hour after they've gone
-
Definitely a shame when people who would like to keep the car can't for financial reasons. Now if you go and have a snotty little infant and have to get rid for that reason, I've no sympathy at all

2010 onwards. There might be other features but these are the ones I believe it has over the previous version Higher definition sat nav screen Touch screen (never use it myself because I hate finger prints all over the screen Post code search (very useful) Connection of an Ipod or similar via USB and ability to select songs, albums etc on screen (as opposed to connection via analogue and having to choose songs etc manually on the Ipod itself) (also very useful if you like to listen to your music in the car) Ability to connect phones etc via Bluetooth (never use it - don't like to be called when driving!)

I'd be quite suspicious of a 370 going for less than about 14K - 15K and I agree that a connect premium model would be a better bet.
