I was thinking on a set of hertz coaxials for 100 quid that seem to be quite popular but if it's not gonna make much difference not sure if I should. How hard is it to amp the fronts?

So SMD do you think its a waste of time getting new fronts and not amping them?

Well I am running a pioneer headunit and this weekend i did the wiring mod which eliminates the need for the line booster and it now sounds so much better! So I'm thinking if I just do the front speakers that will be enough to satisfy me as I don't really fancy running new amps and wiring everywhere etc. Thanks for the links those coaxials look like a winner for me providing they will run fine off the Bose amp!

As the title really, I am after the little black box which the two lots of cables clip into. I think i chip on mine has fried and was wondering if anybody had one kicking about please??? Thanks, Ian.

Hi guys im thinking about buying some front 2-way speakers for the zed. Planning to spend up to £100 will this be enough to make a good difference? Also after lots of reading im still not quite sure if adding aftermarket speakers to the bose will cause me problems? Any advice would be appreciated!! Cheers

Would just like to thank buster for this awesome mod, did it today and it has transformed my stereo, so loud and crisp with no distortion! Before I had a line booster and it was boosting the rear so the front barely did a thing but now the front speakers are so much better. This is most definitely worth doing!! Only thing is I can't get my steering wheel controls to work despite getting the 29-020 lead so I think the control box itself might be buggered!

Ok so I have decided its time to upgrade my stereo. I already have an aftermarket head unit fitted but would like to change my front and rear speakers and would really appreciate some advice on what will sound good in the zed. I have read some guides on here so have a rough idea what im doing just don't want to buy something that isn't much better than what I have now! Cheers guys

Thanks very much mate! And i take it you had no problem with these in regards blowing the circuit? I know i had never heard of bulbs causing so much trouble pleased i checked first!

How can you tell if they will short thr circuit or not? Shaun, could you please send me the link for the interior dome bulbs as im looking to get some myself, Cheers

before the zed i had a 330d with full exhaust and decats and actually sounded really good!! However, although fairly quick, cant be put in the same catagory as the zed for the feel when you put your foot down! Was also only getting about 37mpg but when you factor all the repair bills then the zed works out cheaper motoring!

I have just thrown caution to the wind and made the purchase!!! I didnt even know i needed one till 5 minutes ago!

How does it grip your phone? Or does it just lean against it?

Finally got round to doing this, cured the noise 100% as soon as I did it! Its surprising how happy getting rid of this noise has made me ( very sad I know) also not sure if it's in my head but also feels like it runs better too
