  1. Ive currently got the S but ive been tinkering with the S2 and both phones are awesome. Androids the way to go!
  2. Ive always drove hot hatches, astra vxr etc. I had a knee operation in february (ACL reconstruction). Surgeon told me not to drive etc for a few months! Anyway I sold my Astra VXR and bought my wife and son, who had just past his test a new corsa 1.2 sxi. When I started driving again the Corsa was fine, but I just missed having something a bit sporty. I had always wanted another two seater but as my circumstances would not allow it, I had to compromise. Now we have the corsa I could buy exactly what I wanted. After looking at all he usual stuff (Z4, S2000 etc) my brother suggested a 350Z. So thats what I bought and I instantly thought what have I been missing! Ive had alot of nice cars in the past but they have all been a compromise. The Zed is the first car that ive bought that is for one purpose alone!
  3. Loved the look of this! http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2691887.htm Would like a spitfire, but one that needs restored!
  4. I'm thinking about embarking on my first ever car restoration project. As yet i've not decided what to buy. I was thinking about an older car like a vauxhall nova (my first car) or something similar. I would like to buy something and refurb it back to its former glory. I dont want to buy anything too expensive for my first attempt. Also, parts must be available and not too expensive. Anyone ever done a restoration on an older car? Any ideas or advice?
  5. that's you!? I have bad news stuart, I AM your boss. Now bend over Correction. That's you? I have bad news Stuart, I am your boss! Now bend over! 3/10 an Improvement. Only joking mate, force of habit.
  6. My boss at work has a really bad habit of posting notices on notice boards, that have basic spelling mistakes and little or no punctuation. I take great pleasure in "marking" them and correcting his mistakes when no one is around. Comments such as 2/10 must try harder and drawing sad faces and the likes always makes me laugh. If he ever found out it was me I would be in deep sh..e!
  7. I'm sure its the rear drop links that cause the problem mate. Yours dont look OEM.
  8. Thanks for the advice everyone! Yeah the guy is really good, he's an independent, but he does alot of repair work for the dealers around were i live. My brother in law was trading in his burgandy vectra for an insignia. There was damage to the front bumper and loads of scatches and buff marks from trees on the drivers side. I got my friend to repair and paint the bumper and machine polish the whole car. My brother in law couldnt believe the difference and ended up keeping the vectra. Ive already clayed the car, then used Autoglym High definition cleanser, hand polished it with super resign polish and finished it off with two coats of high definition wax. As i said im really happy with the finish, but my friend could see a few blemishes.
  9. Ive recently had a go at detailing my Zed. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out! I bumped into a good friend the other day, who is a top class spray painter. He commented on how well my car was looking and offered to machine polish it for me. He said that he would clean it down with a solvent cleanser then using a very fine grade wet paper remove any debris thats left. Then he would machine polish the whole car and Finally machine wax and then hand wax the car with a silicon free wax. Any thoughts/ opinions on this as i'm not sure?
  10. Thanks mate, common sense really
  11. Hi mate, Ive recently noticed a burning smell also when i give my car a thrash! Ive noticed that i may have a very small oil leak from my rocker cover (common fault on the Z i was told), nothing to bad. I think that it may be dripping onto my exhaust, therefore producing a burning smell. Only does it when im really giving it some!
  12. This sounds exactly like the clicking noise that ive got! I assumed it was the CV joint. I'll need to investigate this further now as it could just be the drop links now?? I'm confussed
  13. Saying that, ive recently had a knee op (cruciate ligament reconstruction) and ive gained 16 kg since my injury . so when i can cut back down to my usual weight and buy some rays, my Zed will be 30kg lighter.

    What RPM?

Yeah mate, i get the odd wee pop from the exhaust as well. Aircon on does help.
  15. Thanks mate, Thats a 32-33 Ibs saving having the rays over the standard 18's.
  16. Does anyone know the weight of the standard 18 inch Zed wheels and also the weight of the Rays?

    What RPM?

When warm my 54 plate Zed ticks over at around 600 ish RPM and every now and again the car shudders slightly. I was told that this was ok Any advice please?
  18. Have a look at the new astra 2.0 CDTI 160 bhp, stunning inside by far the best interior in its price range. You might want to wait on the 3 door sports hatch coming out later this year though. My friend just bought an audi A5 sline on a contract lease and i couldnt belive how cheap it was!
  19. Sorry mate. No offence taken.
  20. not a disimiliar reason for why i sold my zed and this thread has only helped to prove/reinforce a point. i wouldn't say A holes as i don't know all the new members on here, but i would possibly say younger and less experienced and even in some cases immature. which at the end of the day is not far off what i was like at that age. and would think alot of others possibly were too. the point i'm trying to make is that we all do stupid things, but on this forum its a bit frowned upon to come on here and brag/boast about it. you'll end up getting a reputation on here as a bit of a tit and people won't take you seriously when you post. if you do something muppety, or like being a muppet. keep it to yourself. Good point, sorry if ive offended anyone. When i said A holes i was referring to the local neds around were i live, who i know very well. Never once was i referring to anyone on this forum. Again apologies to anyone who took offence. I'll keep my opinions to myself from now on. First time ive been called a tit or a muppet though. Nobody called you a muppet, you tit I'm lost, only had 2 bottles of beer tonight. Think i'll read the whole thread tomorrow again. Thought Dont even know what i thought now.

  22. Would it be simpler if i posted some pics for you?
  23. Vauxhall didn't "produce" the VXR8 though Sorry my mistake, meant to say " that Vauxhall sold"
  24. If I have, then I apologize if I have offended anyone! All I was trying to say is that the astra VXR is a good car, but I now prefer the Z. Also that the VXR220 turbo was the best VXR that vauxhall produced both on the road and track, including the VXR8!
  25. Only a bit of fun... if its allowed?
