  1. Threads like this really hack me off. Did you not sit a driving test?? The Zed s no different from any other car! Surely you must know that if you are driving in wet conditions, breaking and handling are different than in the dry, if not you shouldn't be driving any car! Fact is, stick to the speed limits, adjust your speed according to the weather conditions and keep a safe distane from the car in front and thats it! Would you dive in the snow exactly the same way as you would on a nice dry day? NO!
  2. Old guy that stays across the road from me feed's the birds every morning. Now I've got a crowd of birds including seagulls perched on my roof waiting for him to open his door. First thing the birds do when they take off is have a crap, usually on top of my wife's mini!
  3. I made my own grit guard from the side of an old plastic washing basket! It dosent sit perfect, its actually a bit big and creates a slope, but the grit defo goes through it and stays under it!
  4. Defo makes a big difference. I also have different wash mits for different body parts!
  5. Anyone want to buy a spare lung or kidney? Great condition and well looked after! Lol.
  6. Dont want to be an arse, but you dont hear about 41K cars with holes in the engine block that often, certainly not high spec units like the VQ. As I said, if it wasnt making a hell of a racket and vibrating like a bastard before it exploded then theres something reet fishy there ........... Dont want to be an arse, but you dont hear about 41K cars with holes in the engine block that often, certainly not high spec units like the VQ. TBH mate, i totally sympathise with you and i would be sick if it was me and it could be me one day! But my nephew runs a garage and he tells me loads of stories like this.
  7. Sorry to hear Nissan dont want to help. But it still wouldnt put me off buying another Zed. Everyday you read stories about all sorts of cars having similar problems. I really hope you get your car back on the road as cheaply as possible!
  8. 1) Did you test drive the car? 2) The 350Z is an awesome bit of kit (i'm driving a Z4, so i'm not biassed) 3) The 350Z is a big comfortable tourer, but with plenty poke and great handling. 4) Ive owned alot of cars in the past and my Zed is the only car that i wish i still owned! 5) be nice to folk and you'll get all the help and advice you need, good luck.
  9. Sorry to hear about your car, hope Nissan do something for you! In reality this could happen to any of us buying used!
  10. Damp micro-fibre cloth then finish with a quick detailer!
  11. When i bought my new E92 i got the best deal possible after haggling with 3 dealers. I wrote down on a piece of paper exactly what spec, colour, trim etc i wanted my E92 in and also wrote down my trade in details and the price i wanted to pay. I walked into a 4th BMW dealer handed the piece of paper to the sales man and said "if you can do that deal i'll buy it right now"! He did and i bought it. Salesman said it was the easiest sale he's ever had!
  12. TBH i'm not sure mate, my Zed was a coupe, but i have a Z4 now and i'm also on the look out for roof products!
  13. Yip, brand new with a £7k discount. Drove it for 6 months and when i traded it in i only lost £1500! But i could probably have bought my Z4 for around £1000 less privately, but i did get all the perks of an approved used BMW. But when i think what i could have lost after another few months when the 4 series is released, i'm glad i'm out it. From now on its 3-4 year old cars for me as there's just too many cracking used cars out there! BTW the fuel economy didnt really concern me in my Zed, i was only pointing out the pro's and con's of both cars.
  14. I had a 350z and now i'm driving an E85 Z4! I sold my 350z and bought a brand new E92 sport plus. After a few months i was bored with it, so tried trading it in for another 350z but trade in prices were terrible. I ended up compromising and trading it in against a 2009 Z4, as i bought the Z4 from a main dealer i got a fantastic trade in for the E92 as it only had 1000 miles on the clock. Both cars are totally different, the 350z has loads more room, much more comfortable on long journeys and feels really grounded but poor fuel economy! The Z4 is much lower to the ground, great on fuel, but a bit twitchy, due to the run flats and also tramelines really badly! The interior on the 350z is much better, as the z4 has alot of soft touch plastics which wear really quickly. I'm having to replace the steering wheel inserts due to excessive wear with only 27000 miles on the clock. I'm defo going to buy another 350z or 370z in the near tuture, but i'm reasonable happy just now and i'm enjoying the 31 mpg. I think if i had bought a Z4 m coupe/ roaster i would prefer it over the 350z but they are at least another £5k like for like!
  15. You sure its vinyl? AG pack gets good reviews!
  16. I remember, going for a swim and buying a mars bar and can of irn bru on the way home with £1!
  17. That's brilliant, i'd do my full body carbon fibre!!
  18. Could have been £560 if you asked me to get you them, lol!
  19. We added my son to my wife's mini cooper last year and it cost around £1400 for my wife as main driver and my son and I as named drivers. We renewed last month and it was only £628. My son dosent drive very often but churchill allow named drivers to build up NCB to use when they insure there own car with them at a later date!
  20. Have you considered buying him a brand new cheap car that offers a years free insurance? If you buy him one, say around £7k then i theory your only paying £4-5k for a brand new car!
  21. I'd love a Breitling ... I have a £100 copy I wear now and then Yeah its a great watch. I like it because you cant buy them new online, you have to buy them from an authorised dealer in the flesh. My brother in law retired from the military ( special reconnaissance regiment) after 24 years service. I bought him a nice seiko watch as a retirement present and he loves it!
  22. TBH a watch is a watch to me. I have a few nice dress watches like an Armani, guess etc. but i have a nice Breitling watch that was passed to me when my grandfather died. I love it but ive probably only worn it 3 times just to keep other family members happy.
  23. Ppffee! I like nice watches too, but you cant find a watch you like for under £25k. Dude ive saw at least 500 watches i like for under £5k! But wouldnt pay more than £2k.
