  1. I think my 5 month old Alfie will have bought one in the meantime...!
  2. Well good luck looking for finding a pre facelift, with Rays, within spitting distance of your house...you have more than enough advice on here from people that faced the same issues as you and overcame them. Let us know how you get on.
  3. Push the boat out for these bad boys! http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/350z07o/50-3832
  4. I bought my kuro black Zed with 'those alloys' and they actually look quite nice in the flesh, nowt wrong with them really, now I have some 19" Volks and those 18s sat in the garage just in case. The wheels are the easiest things to change on the car, god it takes half hour to change them, loads of options wheel wise on the market, having read through this thread and seen your constant harking on about the wheels, I think you are missing a trick massively by getting obsessed with them. You have probably discounted plenty of very good Zeds simple because of what wheels are on it and like I said are a doddle to change, there are tonnes 114.3 fitment wheels for sale all over the country, and much better ones than these standard 350z Rays you are focusing on.
  5. I didn't want to interrupt the master at work... Our wasso is somewhat pink today
  6. Will leave the work in progress shots to Ian as I really did not partake in the work part so much
  7. As above...was a bit more than a wash
  8. I wouldnt just go out and buy a replacement gearbox though! Could be thats just as noisy and clunky as your current one. Even the fabled CD009 boxes are not as invincible as they are made out to be (although technically they are better), read somewhere about someone changing theirs out to one of these and it was just as clunky. As long as it doesn't interfere with your driving the noise should be something you can live with.
  9. Zed got a wash early morning with Megs Gold Class, Ian then spent some time claying, followed by 6 hours of machine polishing, then on went the Supernatural wax, now looks
  10. Thought I would kick off a thread for people to post Wasso's handywork. Ian spent the day working on my Zed starting at 10 finishing around 7, a photo shoot at Richmond Park followed by pizza and beer - so all round a good day Ian can confirm, 'its hot in Richmond'
  11. That's a freaking bargain!!!! Set of springs and spacers and she's looking stunning! Nismo kit and wheels, stunning example if it drives well for that money
  12. Nissan gearboxes are notorious for being noisy, best thing is some Nissan gear oil from Alex along with some molyslip, will help reduce noise.
  13. I would say there are a fair few things about Zeds that owners will know to look for over a mechanic who has never worked on one - will your mechanic have his head out the window listening for a clicky rear axle for instance...make use of the forum, some good guys on here, they may even know the history of a local Zed having shopped for one in their local area. You can always then if it looks pretty good pay out for an RAC inspection or the like to test the mechanics of the car. At the end of the day if it gets you your Zed, its been worth it.
  14. if you ask nicely some forum members if they have the time and are local to anything might take a look for you...
  15. That's either one damn expensive exhaust or a damn cheap SC setup. It must be an Amuse. Have you seen the price of a basic Vortech setup You can pick up a basic Vortech kit for around £3K new from Assaultech Decent exhaust (Not cheap ebay tat/japscrap/scorpion etc.) £6-700 Decent Y-pipe £150 Set of Berks £400 Poopcharger £120 Your pretty much at £1500 straight away, add in a plenum spacer & your really not far away. £2800 for an additional 100 hp, or £1500 for an additional 15hp But then, what would I know about it 400hp is just about doable NA? Really? If I ever built another Z, I would love a high revving NA motor. But the cost of doing that far outways the cost of going FI. But you can add bits of the NA upgrades as you go along, spent near on a year pulling mine together. Yes could save for a SC but then I am lumbered with stock exhaust, intake and cats which make a crap noise. I would say £3k isnt touching it really on SC costs, what about install and remap with it? Not that I know but would have thought some parts of your Zed would need some upgrades to deal with an extra 100bhp? When I asked abbey about total cost of SC it was more than £3k...
  16. Polished headlights make a massive difference good work
  17. ...not condoning it at all either, just making the point that some people who post about road safety on here can often be seen hacking it along public roads, that's the only point I was making.
  18. ...because everyone else on this forum is a sensible driver who has never exceeded the speed limit or raced another car
  19. Damn it, another thing on the list...looks great
  20. I was thinking that, given that I got such a nice combo of centre caps and wheels nuts in red at the moment, red calipers would make it look perfect
  21. Was legal last year, wont pass an MOT now though, anything which restricts light is a fail
  22. I had Flyeye on the front also, looks great but does make for poor lighting! I put some on the rear indicator/fog clusters as well, makes the back end of the car look 100% better
  23. All so nice, all so out of my price range at the moment though
  24. Do your power gain mods before the remap HFC are high flow cats, the stock ones are restrictive so these will make the exhaust more free flowing, they also give the exhaust a louder more aggressive tone Doogyrev and Zugara changed my exhaust I have a stillen intake and did that myself Check with Ebized and Will370z for exhaust ideas on a 370
  25. ...there are also people, generally older and maybe more vulnerable , who are unaware of the principle of haggling down insurance prices who those insurance companies quite happily overcharge to make a bigger profit which is wrong. I would agree 99% of business involves haggling but a lot of that is through bulk order processing, relationship effects and various other reasons not much of it is for single purchase one off purchases which insurance pretty much is which is where this is different ekona - I challenge anyone for instance to walk into a car showroom, look at a car and then get the salesman to knock off 30%-40% within a couple of minutes...Im sorry but the way insurance works is not like a lot of business in that haggling sense, to me if they can offer insurance for 40% less after just a couple of minutes on the phone they are going in with extortionate rates in the first instance and quite literally ripping people off.
