  1. You have to disconnect the battery and pump the brakes to clear the electrics before messing with the wheel or you risk and air bag in your face! I wrapped the parts myself on the wheel, it's not that difficult.
  2. A little tip before you go spending fortunes, get some Ultimate Compound and scrub it onto the lens, really cleans up the clouding
  3. Despite the opening lines I knew where this was going! Not a motorway car with luxuries by any means but a mental bit of fun me thinks.
  4. I emailed a few of the sellers last year regarding this and all said they were fixed in one direction...
  5. Impressive increases in bhp for the cost
  6. There is the turbo version of the VX220 which looks a bit mental. Overall though I would say the Lotus is bound to be a better drive than the Vauxhall I would suspect? Given the heritage of each brand? I think Darren-B and Ekona have owned either of the VX220 and Elise?
  7. If you are planning on taking the plate off, get those forms in the post now as it currently is taking 2 weeks. I know as i did mine a few weeks back. The problem you have though, is that you need to change the address on the v5 first which will take 2 weeks or so, then put the plate on retention = another 2 weeks. So your looking at 4 weeks at the quickest before you`ll be in a position for someone to drive away with the car, with the value of the car dropping every month. Id definitely look at returning it to standard if possible as like someone else on here said, the money your looking for can get someone a minter 313 HR zed. So anything you can do to bring the price down to make it more appealing to Joe Public is definitely a plus, as at the end of the day Joe Public will be comparing this against other 2004 cars which maybe cheaper. Still looking for these minter 313s online and really not finding them though...something of a forum myth I think people are coming around to realising - when on autotrader I found 22 313 cars and 3 of them less than £10k, average price of 313s on most sites is circa £13 and people looking for these on advice from the forum are not finding them as per some recent threads. Understand my car is more than other 2004 cars, effectively though they are getting the upgrades at less than half used price, so if they have plans to mod its a good buy, if not, then they move on which is fair enough.
  8. I know your pain Vik, you get some crazy conversations with insurers because basically the calculations they try to do are bollox. I was just playing around with the Admiral online system the other day, got a quote, went back, increased the security on the car from 'None' to 'Immobiliser' and the quote went up £50 because that makes sense doesn't it...I am more likely to make a claim because the car is better secured Problem is that insurers have no idea how to properly model predictive behaviour and you get this utter nonsense. Everyone seems to think its a case of 'oh lets count up the number of accidents with X Y and Z factors involved and thats got to be whats caused them'

  10. +1, saw the plastidip on Jumping350s Zed and although he did a cracking job on it, it does look very flat and doesnt make the most of what are an expensive bit of kit in your alloy wheels. Get them powder coated or sprayed
  11. Well like I said to someone on PM earlier, would take £9k for it without the number plate.
  12. I think quite a lot of people are reporting that dealers arent shifting on price, maybe private are by a bit, but I thought I would have a quick look on autotrader for a bit of research: Keyword search: 313 turned up 22 Zeds up to five years old. 3 were under £10k, 2 by £5 the other at £9450 19 were over £10k The median price was £13,950 Highest priced was a touch under £15k If you are looking for a 313 with £9k budget I think you are struggling, quite a bit with a choice of maybe 3-4 cars from 22 nationally, even if you are looking to try haggle down.
  13. I think the ultimate would be GLRNET but I fear there isnt enough bandwidth to take it on the forum
  14. I took the club option...ended up spraying red mind you!
  15. ...it could also be the 'value' comments you get on the forum. When I was looking on my budget I had comments that I would get 'this and that' for my budget but nothing came up. Have seen a regular spate of comments about being able to get 313s for X amount and maybe you can if you get one which is not mint and has high miles and you spend two weeks bartering on price, but generally they dont exist.
  16. I just did an online valuation of the plate and a couple of companies have come back with the valuation I got before, so would be crazy to let it go with the car without appreciating the value of it. £9k without the plate might be a better sell than £9999 with it on, and hell, I will be up compared to selling them together.
  17. Filling it out to send off as we speak... ...annoyingly (even further still) is that I have paid for ads for the car on PH and ebay. So will need to stall any potential buyers in the meantime.
  18. Could be the summer effect, people want sports cars in summer.
  19. Thats something different isnt it Colin? Something about someone not following up a lost in the post V5?
  20. I also realised just now that my driving licence still has my windsor address also - I guess that corroborates the V5 to some degree. Thought I had done everything, even changed little Alfies address on his baby savings account
  21. Yeah I am thinking that, so annoying, just with all the things going on it was one of the twenty or so things I had to change address for.
  22. ...just trawling through all the paperwork for the Zed to make sure its all in order for any sale and realised I didnt send off the V5 when I moved to Richmond recently so it has my old Windsor address on it. With so much going on just slipped under the radar. Takes around 2 weeks to have the address changed as far as I know. Looking through it it seems that any new owner just fills out their bits and sends it off anyway so can't see a problem if I keep it for now along with proof that I used to live in Windsor for any potential buyer? I suppose with people on here its not a problem as they know I am a genuine owner of it but anyone seeing the PH ad etc...might be suspect?
  23. Run a knife down the stitching and cut it all off, you will need a leather boot to go on there also that matches up to your handle.
